I figure Owens could eventually be some sort of a player at the major league level, from the limited action I've seen from Liotta, I don't know if I can say the same thing.

I've heard Sandy Alomar Jr. is available from LAD, I wouldn't mind picking him up, he's hitting .328 in limited AB's, but he's been terrible defensively. If you really want a defensive catcher and aren't concerned with hitting, the guy to get is Danny Ardoin, he's very good defensively and he's got a great arm

I think the main problem is last season even though we were a big home run team, we still knew that we could score other ways we could bunt a guy over or hit a sac fly or steal a base or get a single up the middle, this season it's home run or nothing. We don't steal anymore, we don't know how to bunt, and we don't hit in the clutch.

Hawk and DJ were talking about how you couldn't tell they were in a slump by the way the players were acting in the clubhouse and how it was a good thing. I don't buy that though; I think somebody on that team should get up and realize being down 6.5 games after the all-star break is something to worry about.

After seeing him last season with LAA, I wouldn't mind him getting a shot here. He's no worse then Politte or Tracey and he probably would only cost a id-level prospect. I am all for trading Vazquez for bullpen help, not so much Garcia. It would be great to move McCarthy back into the rotation where he belongs, but lets say we recieve a high-quality pitcher in return like Gordon. Then Gordon would be taking McCarthy's spot, who's been pretty good out of the pen, andwe're still stuck with Politte, so how much better does it actually make us. If we were to recieve 2 quality bullpen arms, then we might have something here.

I wouldn't have a problem with Cintron at 2B for the week, but you're right, he wouldn't hurt against Boston.

I think it would be a good idea to have him sit out until the all-star break. I don't see his absence for the week severely harming the team and it would enable him to come back fully healthy for the start of the second half. Thoughts?

It's tough between Crede, Thome, and Ozuna, but I picked Crede. He's been teh best 3B in the league.

I don't know if you want to trust radar guns, but he's barely been hitting 90 this year, I think I've seen him hit 93 once or twice but that's it. Last season he threw 93-95 for the most part.
