  1. I can't wait till the ballgame tomorrow. Should really be a different mood from the fans. Coming back 3-3 instead of being swept like last year. I'm very happy with what they did on the road. They are looking good.
  2. Yeah, Playa did a great job, couldn't have asked for more.
  3. I think everyone has alot of expectations of Jon for this year. It's do or die for him. No more middle of the road. I think it's very positive that Ozzie has faith in him. I think Jon was too concerned last year about Jerry giving up on him and pulling him when things got rough, and that messed with his confidence. On another note, I hope we can hit Contreras, he was nasty in ST.
  4. Just think of the scrutiny KW would come under. KW did not sign him in the offseason, when it was guaranteed he would come back if signed to a reasonable contract. Then at the trade deadline, he goes out and acquires Robbie and has to give up prospects to do so? Trading for Robbie would mean that our players at second have failed, I don't think anyone in their right mind would go after someone he could have had all along.
  5. I don't think KW would trade for Alomar again.
  6. And Detroit being 4-0. You're right, wow! It's too early to tell anything though.
  7. Do you mean like all of a sudden out of thin air we get swept by the Yankees and we get another loss added to our record for good measure?
  8. It's an impossibility for us to be 1-6 going into the home opener.
  9. Didn't he regain his control after the first two innings? It's only one start, and it's like you have determined he is a failure. The Show that pitched today pitched better than he did in Spring Training. You're right though. I am going to be pissed if he doesn't make it out of the third inning against Detroit. I would be pissed at any of the pitchers if that was the case. What I'm saying is that he pitched well enough to keep us in that game, against a lineup of all-stars. If we could have mustered any sort of offensive production against Vasquez, we could have just as easily won that game.
  10. If Crede wouldn't have made those plays, would you say that he played a bad game?
  11. I think the only thing that should cause maybe a little concern is the production out of the first two spots in the order.
  12. :fthecubs Cubs fans may be expecting a little more than that this year. At least they should be. Of course, Cub's fans aren't very brilliant.
  13. I agree, it took him a little while to get into rhythm, but he pitched decent. He's going to be our number 4 pitcher, not a horrible line for Show if you ask me. Vasquez is a way better pitcher than him. I'd have liked to see Garland pitching instead. But as someone said, Yankees at home in their home opener. That's a very tough situation to win.
  14. Yeah but the Cubs lost 2 to the measly Reds.
  15. Nice 1-2-3 inning by Show! and Crede with his play.
  16. Looks like he has settled in quite a bit. From the early innings.
  17. To anybody watching: Is Schoeneweis pitching that bad?
  18. Sweeney should do well with Single-A pitching with the experience he got against big league pitching this spring.
  19. Will the parking lots be open that early?
  20. It'll be tough. There is an overabundance of talent in the outfield in the American League. He probably wouldn't make it in voting, but he could be named to the team. Hope he does!
  21. I'm hoping for the sweep. They have a tough lineup, but let's get it done!
