  1. That was a ton of pitches by May, way to work him Frank!
  2. The answer is easily Reinsdorf!
  3. Gene Lamont was a good manager as well. Who knows what would have happened if there was no strike during his tenure.
  4. I am looking for a sig with:"the Cell" as a background, Ozzie and some Sox players on it. Can anyone help me out? Thanks in advance for your help, I appreciate it.
  5. And the mighty Devil Rays have the Yankees sitting at 1-2.
  6. Personally I think he will do decent this year. Specifically because the Flubs gave up on him. But, being in Colorado is not going to make things easy on him. :fthecubs
  7. I think Koch would know since he played with Chavez. He was just saying he didn't agree with Manuel. As I remember, not alot of people around here agreed with Manuel's handling of the bullpen. I don't think he was trying to take a cheap shot at Chavez.
  8. I'm in on this thread. I thought long and hard after Monday's loss too. It was pretty devastating to lose the opening game, especially the way they lost it, but there were so many positives other than one inning. I'm still optimistic that the back of the rotation and bullpen will be fine. No reason to start doubting yet, not with 161 games left!
  9. Why would there be any question as to Koch not being the closer right now. Guillen has said he is the closer, and he hasn't blown a save or lost a game yet.
  10. I agree completely that the blame lies with Marte. He didn't have good stuff at all yesterday. We were in trouble before he came in, but he is a pitcher that can be relied on to get us out of trouble. Yesterday, he failed. You can't blame anyone but him. Ozzie, Koch, nor Pollitte are the ones that gave up two homeruns in one inning. Marte just had a tough outing, he'll come back from it. Yesterday's loss was a heartbreaker, that's all, just time to push forward from here.
  11. I see Corey Patterson started his opening day heroics for a second year. HR in the first inning.
  12. 1st inning 3 K's, 1 hit. He did throw 21 pitches though.
  13. It'd be nice to see Miguel Olivo catch Mark for once. He is 5 for 7 against Brian Anderson. Thomas is 9 for 25 with 3 doubles and 3 HR's. I can't wait for the season to get underway.
  14. It was a good joke. I completely believed it was possible, that's why I started the thread. After Hawk came on he was talking about how it sucked for Rowand because he was never going to get his chance in center field. Good joke though, the fact that they got ESPN to question it makes it classic.
  15. Hawk is upset becasue this is going to mess with Rowand.
  16. Score reporting Sox trade Konerko and Cotts for Griffey Jr Not an April Fool's joke.
  17. Good article by Rozner. He pretty much summed up the reasons I am getting excited for the regular season to start.
  18. And that's where Stone is wrong. It' over for the Cubs. Wouldn't it be nice if Cubs fans, media and broadcasters were at least a little more realistic and less optimistic?
  19. Good stuff. That's one of the most irrelevent comments I've ever heard.
  20. Can I have a third choice? Honestly, I'd like to see both of them get good time there. They both have pretty decent upsides, but they need to play regularly.
  21. The only one I'm really concerned about right now is Schoeneweis. Everyone else is looking pretty decent right now.
  22. Much rather have Kruk than Bobby V and his ego.
