  1. Just wanted to start something in here because I can't get the chat. I'll try to update when I can, but I'm at work. Game is on ESPN 1000 for those in the Chicagoland area. Helton homered in the top of the first. Uribe Homered, Thhomas doubled then Mags homered driving home Thomas. Right now Sox are up 3-1 still in the bottom of the first.
  2. I got 6 tickets in the bleachers Section 163, Row 23 or something like that. I can't believe it's still a month away. Can't wait to tailgate and watch the Sox put a beat down on the Royals.
  3. Let's just remember that he has pitched well this spring and give the guy a break for a little bit. There are plenty of players who aren't having a decent spring to unload on. I think with Koch, we just have to wait and see.
  4. Does anybody think that Takatsu hasn't showed off his best pitches yet? I remember KW saying that he had some pretty unbelievable movement and that they really didn't want to show it off during spring training games, especially against the A.L. teams.
  5. I think that Rooney and Farmer said it right. I think Koch has gotten out of the mindset that he needs to blow the pitches by batters. He really just needs to focus on hitting his spots. I think Ozzie and Coop have also said this.
  6. It was nice to see Danny W work his way out of a jam when he walked the first two in the second inning. Sounds like he did a pretty decent job this afternoon.
  7. I think they said he left around the 5th inning or so to go to the Colorado game.
  8. SOunds like Cotts and Garland pitched well in the Colorado game. Didn't catch the stats, but sounded like they pitched well from Farmer and Rooney.
  9. Is there any other way for the Sox, even in Spring Training.
  10. Sorry, Clement gave up three runs in his two innings though. That's still not good.
  11. I will agree that the Cubs on paper look good. But we all know paper isn't reality. I hate the Cubs, but I'm definitely a realist. If the Cubs play the way their lineup dictates they should play, then they should make the playoffs. I understand that it's only spring training, but I relish any news that the Cubs lost, or any negative statements about the Cubs. I guess that's a product of the Chicago media bias and the Sox getting no respect.
  12. Yeah, but Clement got jacked up for a grand slam in his two innings of work. It's nice to know that rotation isn't as infallible as the Flubs fans think it is. Zambrano struggled at times as well from what I heard. I know it's only spring training, but I still love when the Cubs lose.
  13. I really don't think C-Lee is going anywhere this year. I believe that was the point of signing him long-term. I'm sure we'll try to move Mags if we are not in the race though.
  14. Florida took care of the Yankees last year, why can't we?, and who says Willie Harris isn't going to be a great leadoff hitter this year? Yeah, I would have liked for us to get a solid pitcher, but it just didn't happen. No one expected what we got out of Loaiza last year, who says no one is going to step up? So many questions, can't help but to be excited and optimistic. I'm glad this is the exact opposite of last year, last year was heartbreaking and frustrating. I'm looking forward to watching this team and having low expectations.
  15. Cubs fans are just idiots, plain and simple. They think this is going to vault them into the World Series. Keep drinking Cubs fans! :fthecubs
  16. I agree, we have alot to be optomistic about. Being a pessimist is the safe route though. The less expectations we have the more excited we can get when the team plays well. Last season was a heartbreaker, and I don't think anyone wants to set themselves up for that again.
  17. Seriosly though, good for Tony. He is the one offseason loss IMO that really hurts. He would have been great with this team this year. I think Ozzie would have loved to have Tony on this team, he is a true baseball player. He's not great or anything, but it seemed like he was always busting his ass giving 100%
  18. I am definitely optimistic about this year. Frank is behaving himself. Ozzie is going to make playing baseball fun again for them, and I believe the roster isn't as bad as some people say it is. That tub of goo Colon wasn't an ace last year, we lost an innings eater, not a spectacular pitcher. I'm glad he didn't sign that contract, as he would have been ripping us off. Williams has said that they will go out and get players if they are contending at mid-season. Why should he spend a fortune on a team who had the players last year, but underachieved? I'm all for waiting to see what this team can do before adding payroll. History has proven that you can't buy a World Series championship. The Yankees played much better when they were growing their own talent and not paying a fortune for it. :fthecubs
