QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ May 8, 2006 -> 12:02 PM) Actually I am heavily involved in Theatre. I am the Producing Director at a Theatre in Chicago. In addition, I am also an Actor. I did not go into Wicked looking for it to suck, in fact I saw the show on Broadway. it never resonated with me. I look past the spectacle. Spelling Bee I am really looking forward to also, plus I have a couple freinds in the cast. sorry i shoulda used green totally joking around.... sorry

QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ May 8, 2006 -> 11:02 AM) I did not entirely enjoy WICKED. While there were some nice moments, I wasn't overly impressed with the musical. The music, itself, was okay. Only one song stood out, Defying Gravity. The others were forgettable. I will be seeing "Spelling Bee" in a couple of weeks. I'll let you know then what I thought. man this threads like a slap in the face. but what do i expect from beer guzzling, bears loving, macho men like y'selves. lol anyway - being a theatre major, and a singer, i'll give y'all my take for the helluvit. Wicked is an amazing show. the plot is contrived - fine. the cast NOW sucks. true. but the music is un-freaking-believable and the spectacle is amazing. (defying gravity is incredible). The part of Elphaba - main character - is one of, if not the most challenging and vocally taxing roles ever written. the stuff she does is just pagiaghaskh. the problem comes if you go in expecting it to suck - or wanting it to. then, of course, there will be lots of things you can rip apart. But if you go in to it just wanting to have fun and enjoy yourself - you wont be dissappointed. Spelling Bee - i actually auditioned for this, but i'm too young, dont fit the roles. see they're all supposed to be like 30 year olds playing 10 year olds - pretty funny. anyway, i've never seen it but i have the soundtrack. it's HILARIOUS. you should have a great time (again, go in expecting to have fun and you will). Spelling bee is very much musically in the vein of Avenue Q (which i have beef with because it beat out Wicked for best original score.... come on now, all the music is just stolen from sesame street) ok enough of that... hope you enjoy spelling bee

Your Kansas City Royals
QUOTE(kyyle23 @ May 7, 2006 -> 08:49 AM) They are making some money, dont let the current state of the franchise fool you. Bad decisions in the front office are contributing to the demise of this once proud franchise. This isnt the be-all end-all argument, but Forbes list of MLB teams Valuations recently came out: http://www.forbes.com/lists/2006/33/Rank_1.html The Royals arent completely poor, but they are spending money on Doug Meintkieviczykjac and Mark Grudzelanek and Reggie Sanders, and they have refused to trade Mike Sweeney in the past 5 years, they have never addressed their starting pitching, they fire and hire coaches like its going out of style, and all of these bad moves or non-moves continue to haunt them. They cannot cry poor when they are putting a s***ty product on the field. If they put a competitive product on the field, they will fill up their stadium and make money hand over fist. KC fans want a winner, but I am sure all of this losing has gotten to even the most hardcore fans of the franchise. isnt it funny to think about a lineup with Damon, Dye, Sweeney and Beltran... they coulda been amazing. i actually do feel bad for royals fans.

Victor Zambrano of the Mets...
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 7, 2006 -> 11:36 AM) Wasn't that back when Jim Duquette was still the GM? Also, this might force the Mets to move Mike Pelfrey quickly through the system as well. they were planning on moving pelfrey quickly anyway, this just gives them more incentive. i hope the mets can stop the bleeding. my bro's a mets fan and a sox v. mets world series is kinda my dream because of that. (it also makes me a little bit of a mets fan)

QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ May 7, 2006 -> 11:35 PM) ^^^^^^^^^^^ That's what I meant when mentioning steriod scrutiny. I do believe however, that Thome is clean i dont think that could possibly be in question. thome, to me, seems like one of the classiest guys i've ever encountered. i dont think he'd touch steroids in a million years. also, big diff between 35 and 40...

What makes you want to pull your hair out more?
QUOTE(G&T @ May 8, 2006 -> 09:24 AM) Until Bonds goes away I go with him. After that it'll be back to hating the Red Sox and Yankees. I still can't believe they have a guy doing full time coverage on Bonds. Pedro Gomez must hate himself. at least it's not a white reporter.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 2, 2006 -> 10:55 AM) The regulars need rest. Thats why the lineup is like this. We have had a short turnaround, and we need them for this homestand. We should beat up on the next two teams we face, and we need to capitalize on playing the weak teams. lol open gameday and check out the lower third of the orders BAs not one over .200 ..............
