No question about it. Angelo knows his defense. He was one of the major brains behind the construction of that Bucs defense. 5 words: Brooks, Sapp, Kelly, Barber, Lynch. He has one hell of a track record.
-
You're right...he's down to about 320. So we have a 32 year old who weighs 320 pounds. This is a guy whose knees have taken 12 NBA years of pounding. 44 wins, although I could be wrong, I suppose. But I've seen stuff like this way too much since I started following basketball back in the late 80s. I have two words: Moses Malone. So much hype when the heavy dinosaurs go elsewhere, and so little results. It hardly ever fails. But I could be wrong...I can't reiterate that enough.
-
That could be the case. Although, I figured that Green would rush for 150+ yards and at least 2 touchdowns against that Tennessee run defense, which has been putrid this year. That's clock control, field position, etc. Picking the Packers in Green Bay seemed like a no-brainer at the time.

A lot of people talk about how Shaq is so much better than Eastern Conference centers, but what was he going up against in the West last year? Your major playoff contenders? The Kings, Timberwolves, and Spurs. Their centers? Vlade, Olowakandi, and Nesterovic. And I have a lot of respect for Yao Ming, but Shaq could score on that guy at will. Ratliff is too short. You know, the more I think about it, he probably will have about the same caliber of competition out of the C spot in the East, if not better. There's Ben Wallace, Dalembert, Blount, Ilgauskas, Magloire, Kwame Brown, Jeff Foster, etc. Also, are we hyping up a 32 year old who weighs 340 pounds? Like I said on page 2 of this thread, you can count on at least 20 games lost with injuries. It'll probably be more like 30, actually.
-
Holy s***...the Tennessee defense had allowed 5.5 yards per rush coming into this game, and they were going up against Ahman Green. What the f*** happened? The Packers are worse than the Lions...stick a fork in 'em.

I ain't never had a roommate in my life. There's no way that I could ever coexist with these guys that PaleHoseJon gets stuck with. I feel for you, bro, and not in a Chaka Khan sort of way. I currently live at home with my fiance and my miniature pinscher.
-
That's why I said that you were merely an indication of that.
-
You're right. I shouldn't have said that. You have your moments...you're definitely smarter than the average baseball fan. But god damn are you living in denial when it comes to the Red Sox! And I don't have to respond to the question because it has already been answered...refer to the original post that I was quoting.
-
You beat me to it! Redandwhite...I'm not trying to land a cheap shot here, but if Red Sox fans are the smartest in all of baseball, you're not exactly an indication of that. "We went out and got Pedro, Schilling, Ortiz...anyone could have." That is f***ing brilliant.

We are so weak defensively that it's scary. Kirk Hinrich is a smart defensive player, but he has the white man's disease (too slow to play effective man to man on your better point guards). Chandler will miss plenty of time with injuries...that's a given. There's not much to root for here...Paxson is doing all that he can to make the situation even worse by drafting a 6'2 shooting guard and a piss poor defender in Luol Deng. I dunno what he's smoking, but he better kick the habit.
-
So, their bench will consist of Wesley Person, Dorrell Wright, Christian Laettner, Michael Doleac, Malik Allen, Keyon Dooling, and Wang Zhi Zhi? That bench might be worse that Charlotte's bench -- an expansion team. Plus, they have Rasual Butler starting and Damon Jones scheduled for a lot of minutes...show me more is all that I can say. Those guys are far from proven, and they weren't billed as anything to begin with. I have them winning 44 games, plus or minus two.

I got a 9 -- I'm a Green Goblin.
-
I don't see us holding anyone to under 100 points. In fact, the 20-62 record that I'm predicting is probably too generous. They might compete with the Bobcats for worst record in the league.
-
The 76ers appear to have that division...they have some depth with Robinson, McKie, and Williamson on the bench. I sure as hell hope that Robinson doesn't start. PG: Iverson/Ollie SG: Green/McKie SF: Iguodala/Robinson/Salmons PF: Thomas/Williamson/ C: Dalembert/Jackson Yep, Iverson is moving back to PG for those that are unaware...O'Brien's system doesn't require a true point guard. I'm liking this team. I wish that the Bulls had a nucleus like this, minus Iverson and Robinson. They were calling Iguodala the next Scottie Pippen in the draft (take it for what it's worth), and Samuel Dalembert is an absolute freak on the defensive end. They won't make any noise in the playoffs, but I think they'll win that terrible Atlantic division.
-
The Celtics are getting a lot more respect than I figured they would. I have them at 41-41 with a new coach (Rivers) and this depth chart: PG: Payton/West SG: Pierce/Allen SF: Welsch/Davis PF: Jefferson/Lafrentz C: Blount Delonte West and Al Jefferson will have to kick some ass right off the bat if this team expects to win that division. It could happen, but I doubt it. I see that they got Gugliotta...hmmm.
-
I hear you, although I don't think any team will approach 60 wins this year, but I could be wrong. And I only have two teams winning less than 30 games...that can't be accurate. Add the Clippers and Hawks to that group, I suppose.
-
Yep, I have the West at 96 games over .500, and the East at 66 games under .500. But... Winning teams out East: 148 games over .500 Winning teams out West: 140 games over .500 But Dan's right...I'm being a tad liberal with my predictions. Let's call it 81 games over for the West, and 81 games under for the East. 9th and 10th seed teams out West will have the same records as 5th and 6th seed teams in the East. A quick glance at just about every Western Conference team's roster will tell you all you need to know: the West has all of the depth. But the East has the two best teams in the league as far as I'm concerned.
-
Putting together a list with projected records is time-consuming as is, but adding up (the difference between) every win and loss to make sure that everything balances out? I'm working on it.
-
I like Washington's core (Brown, Arenas, Jamison) and their second tier guys (Hayes, Hughes, Peeler, Thomas, Jeffries, Dixon). I think that they can win that division with a 44-38 record, because the Heat have absolutely no depth or chemistry and you know that Shaq will miss at least 20 games with injuries.

Ben Sheets is amazing...only 32 walks in 237 IP That has to be the best control in the majors...it has to be.
-
Holy s***. Not even a Cubs fan would say something like this.
-
Armando Benitez...holy f***ing s***. And I kinda zoned out on baseball for a little while there after the Sox started to suck. This Oliver Perez kid is nice. I'd heard some things, but I had no idea he was looking that good.
