  1. Wow. The Sox haven't given up an earned run in 23 consecutive innings now.
  2. The Beatles are my favorite group, without question. Some of my favorites: Artifacts 1958-1994 14CD Unsurpassed Masters 1962-1969 7CD Thirty Days 17CD White Album Sessions 4CD Songs For Eleanor 2CD Soul Sessions 2CD Pepperland 2CD Alternate Revolver 2CD Alternate Rubber Soul 2CD They have playlists for 1500+ different Beatles bootlegs here: www.bootlegzone.com One guy that I trade with has 4000+ different Beatles bootlegs (solo efforts included). You also have to take into account that a lot of the same stuff has been bootlegged over and over and over. This stuff is like gold. I don't know what I'd do without it. They cost a fortune, though. Vintage Vinyl in Evanston has a nice selection, although the Artifacts 14CD Set would cost you about $400 to $450.
  3. Right on the money.
  4. Chuck Finley is 19th on the all-time strikeout list, so he most likely overshadowed anything that Langston was doing for a while there.
  5. And just like that, he's up over .300 with a .350 OBP. A home run short of a cycle.
  6. How about when people say Valentine? Valentine is a common Puerto Rican name, you know. It's right up there with Rodriguez, Ramirez, and Gonzalez. No question about it.
  7. Ozzie, No matter what happens, DO NOT bring in Koch.
  8. Koch is warming up.
  9. A little rat poison, maybe. We don't want to kill him.
  10. I'll definitely take him on my fantasy team, but not on my White Sox.
  11. I couldn't have said it better myself.
  12. Is it too early to take him out?
  13. Frank needs more money to play more craps, so that he can make more money, and play more craps.
  14. Who gives a s***. He can go 4-4 tonight and he'd have a .300 average and a .350 OBP. He only has 28 ABs in his rookie season.
  15. Best record in the American League
  16. No one predicted the Marlins or Angels to win it all, but they were regarded as good sleeper picks, whereas, the Brewers, Tigers, Pirates, Rockies, Rangers, Indians, Expos, Reds, Devil Rays, and a few others (dare I say Blue Jays, Orioles, Dodgers, Mets, and the Royals with their lousy starting rotation) were all done before the 2004 season started as far as I'm concerned. And I'm just talking about making the playoffs, where anything can happen (4 #1 seeds can go down in the first round :headshake ). The San Diego Padres are the only team that really jumps out at you this year as a good sleeper pick, although they don't appear to have an area of excellence, as the Angels did with offense & the Marlins did with their young studs () before their respective seasons started. But you know what you have in Oakland, Anaheim, Seattle, Chicago White Sox, Minnesota, NY Yankees, Boston, Philadelphia, Florida, Atlanta, Chicago Cubs, St. Louis, Houston, San Francisco, and Arizona, though. If any of these teams make it to the playoffs, it won't be a surprise. Arizona still has life in that division. I followed the Vikings very closely throughout the year, as I never lost hope in the Bears, even after they took a s*** on Monday night & allowed 17 in the first quarter. I have to admit that I figured the Vikings would be 5-11 at best before the season started. They were 6-0 through six games. Before the season started, the consensus was that they wouldn't do much because of their lack of defense, but they were forcing like five turnovers per game through the first six. It's impossible to predict these things. If they had Ray Lewis and Champ Bailey, then maybe I'd understand. How could the Raiders and Bucs not make the playoffs after playing in the super bowl the previous year? What is that? It's enough to give you a migraine. The same thing happened to the Patriots and Rams after they played each other in the super bowl the previous year. Tagliabue is an idiot in my world. Football is kind of a joke in 2004, IMO. Take a look at Kansas City's schedule last year. Their only formidable opponents were the Broncos and Ravens. What kind of schedule is that? There are too many teams, too much roster turnover, etc. Thank the lord for baseball. Sure, we have to put up with this bogus salary cap situation, and certain teams can't hang on to their marquee players, but at least schedules are consistent & you know what to expect before the season starts.
  17. LOL. I remember all of that Bills talk after they shut the Patriots out 31-0. Football is too goofy, though. 6-0 teams don't even make the playoffs at times (Vikings). Baseball is much easier to predict, although people were picking the Marlins to finish in 3rd place this year? Blue Jays are a good team? Orioles? But otherwise, it's easy to predict.
  18. oooohhhhhhh yeeeaaaahhhh!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. He closed a game for the Dodgers recently.
  20. He'd be a nice fit, though. Guillen would welcome him back with open arms.
