  1. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Feb 4, 2006 -> 04:14 AM) The fact that you do remember is quite odd lol. Who else was in our league? DyeInRight was horrible. I have a damn good memory for a pothead. My grade school principal always used to say that I was like a 1957 Chevy without gasoline. Let's see, 56789 was running the show, and you also had SoxFanForever, that cool muhf***a jackie hayes, my main man mmmmmbeeeerr, and some other dudes.
  2. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Feb 4, 2006 -> 01:07 AM) I'm in. I don't remember what league I was in last year but I'll take any head-to-head league. You were in league 3 last year along with myself, although I could understand why you wouldn't remember Mr. DyeInRight. God damn quitter. Anyway, put me down for a spot in League 3 once again.
  3. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Feb 3, 2006 -> 10:58 PM) How long before Brown's head explodes? I couldn't be happier for him. I refuse to feel sorry for such an extraordinary flake.
  4. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Feb 3, 2006 -> 09:49 PM) Wow, that is terrible. Thanks for putting together the numbers man. I totally forgot about Allan Houston. That's terrible. Actually, insurance is paying the bulk of Allan Houston's contract, but the salary numbers are still astronomical. EDIT: The Knicks have to pay about $15 MIL or his remaining $40 MIL, and insurance will take care of the rest.
  5. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Feb 3, 2006 -> 09:37 PM) Where they gonna play him? As a SF or what? They already have a log jam at the SG/SF position with Jamal/Q-Rich/Penny/etc. Yep. This is how you build a 1-2-3 rotation: 2005/2006 Stephon Marbury $16,500,000 Penny Hardaway $15,750,000 Allan Houston $19,125,000 ($8,000,000 paid by Knicks) Jalen Rose $15,700,000 Quentin Richardson $7,000,000 Shannon Anderson $6,700,000 Jamal Crawford $6,500,000 Maurice Taylor $9,100,000 Close to $90 million, and this is before you tally up the salaries for the frontcourt players, one of which is a huge contract for the heartless, brainless Eddy Curry. WORST FRANCHISE EVER
  6. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Feb 3, 2006 -> 09:24 PM) The Knicks most definitely have a mold of players they look for. I will give them that. They are pretty damn consistent. No question about it. Next up? Steve Francis or Ben Gordon. Hell, maybe even both.
  7. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 3, 2006 -> 04:40 PM) Um... people DO speak Irish in Ireland. You might know it as Gaelic. It's still an official language there, still on street signs in some places, etc. English or Hiberno-English is the NATIONAL STANDARD LANGUAGE OF IRELAND LOL at some of you guys. My point was that this dude back in grade school thought that Irish was their national language. 90% of the people in Ireland are speaking a variation of English RIGHT NOW. And here you come chiming in with "Well, the vast vast minority still speak Gaelic!". Wow, maybe I never should of posted anything in the first place.
  8. QUOTE(SouthsideNorthsideFan @ Feb 3, 2006 -> 04:11 AM) They did... The United States OF THE NORTH won, correct? Not the United States as we know it. In a Civil War, we'd be pretty f***ing far from united, yeah? That is the entire point. If someone asks you who won the Civil War, do you say that we did? Because we are the United States. That would include the South. Say man, what language do they speak in England?
  9. Yep, that's pretty funny. A guy that I went to grade school with thought that peopel spoke Irish in Ireland. This was back in like 7th grade, though. Chad is a grown man. Good God, I can't even begin to imagine all of the basic s*** that he doesn't know. He probably thinks that the United States won the Civil War, and that it took place in the 1960s over in Europe.
  10. QUOTE(q\/\/3r+y @ Feb 1, 2006 -> 10:31 AM) Marcus banks? He is a no body i thought :rolly That is correct sir, yes. You only have to watch him a few times for it to become obvious that he is a defensive hound out of the PG slot.
  11. The Hornets went out and quietly added a little frontcourt beef in PF Aaron Williams and (more importantly) C Stephen Hunter. Their bench just improved dramatically. So, the surprise team of the year should be even better from here on out. Tonight's game against the Bulls is gonna be awesome. LOL, I never thought that I'd be saying that.
  12. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Feb 1, 2006 -> 10:02 AM) And Boris Diaw got his 1st ever triple - double today, 14 points, 11 boards and 13 assists. The guy's turned into a stud, and the Suns look dangerous when they play adequate enough defense and they're knockin down shots. Well, it's about time! 13. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 01:48 AM) I still like Sweetney's potential if he works on his conditioning this upcoming offseason. Sweetney has the post moves to draw fouls and give us some much-needed scoring off of the bench. If he could lose 30 to 40 pounds, I wouldn't mind him sticking around.
  14. QUOTE(q\/\/3r+y @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 12:29 AM) Allen is just f***ing awesome... cannot believe you would dis him. :headshake I take it back. Malik Allen is the next Karl Malone.
  15. With Deng and Nocioni in the picture, the acquisition of Al Harrington would make zero sense. He is terrific, though. I've always liked him. We'll need a center who can score 12 to 15 points a game, so you can forget about Nazr Mohammad. If people think that Chandler is completely incapable of creating a scoring opportunity for himself on the offensive end, wait until you get a load of Nazr. Top priorities: An actual SG, and a C with scoring potential. I don't want Sweetney, Harrington, or Malik Allen on this roster, but whatever. As Jerry Angelo would say, I guess that I'm just gonna have to live with the crap.
  16. QUOTE(kevin57 @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 03:07 AM) Ignored once again. Post more often. I wouldn't even know who you were if not for some of the more controversial Filibuster threads.
  17. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 06:36 PM) The Doc Rivers special? And that's another thing. Doc Rivers isn't cut out to coach young players. He's like the NBA's version of Dusty Baker. He has zero patience.
  18. QUOTE(Spiff @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 06:16 PM) It doesn't really matter though, this team isn't going anywhere this year. Not only are they incapable of winning on the road, but at home they have the uncanny ability to jump out to leads and then turn around and let the other team back in it (see: wednesday's disgusting loss to Washington). They are too young, they don't know how to win games yet. It's going to be two-three years before all this rebuilding shows any results. Without Pierce, what would they be, maybe 8 to 10 games worse in the standings right now? Then they'd have a Top 5 pick in next year's draft. I don't think that I'm overrating Pierce. That guy is an offensive assassin who will singlehandedly keep you in games/win games against scrub opponents. Big SGs who can score at will are not necessarily good to have when you're in rebuilding mode (see Tracy McGrady, Kobe Bryant, etc). They'll f*** with your draft status, there's no question about it. The key to sucking hard is to get yourself an undersized ball-hogging combo guard like Marbury, Francis, Ben Gordon, Jason Terry, etc. The list goes on and on.
  19. QUOTE(knightni @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 05:47 PM) Szczerbiak was better than either of those two guys from Boston and Olowokandi was at least mediocre. But what kills me the most... Minnesota gave up a 1st rounder as well. McHale is an idiot. Wally Sczerbiack is getting paid 36 million over the next three years, and the one and only thing that he gives you is shooting. There is literally nothing else. That is a New York Knicks contract. Ricky Davis might be a scumbag, but he can drive, shoot, pass, rebound a little bit, and give you some mediocre defense. He's been one of the top 6th men in the league for a few years now. Also, he is top 10 in Assist-To-Turnover ratio this year. He is 10 times better than wack-ass Wally World Olowakandi is one of the biggest jokes in this league. Nobody cares less than that guy, except for maybe Mark Blount. The Timberwolves just became a much better defensive team, y'all. I like their personnel with Banks, Carter, Hassell, Garnett, Griffin, etc. Blount can play a little on-the-ball defense when he feels like it. Now they have to make a run at a legitimate scoring option out of the 2. You're calling McHale an idiot in this exchange? Ainge has been drafting high schoolers in the first round for three straight years now (Jefferson, Perkins, Green). To me, that would indicate that they should be in an all-out rebuilding mode. But no, they acquire Wally f***ing Sczerbiak with 36 million left on his contract, and they still have Paul Pierce. Nice building blocks. If McHale is an idiot, then Danny Ainge is borderline retarded.
  20. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 08:08 AM) And just think... Tyson Chandler 24.5 MPG 4.6 PPG 7.40 RPG 1.11 BPG Eddie Griffin 20.5 MPG 5.5 PPG 6.30 RPG 2.42 BPG Yeah, but Tyson has what I would call "legendary defensive upside".
  21. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 07:58 AM) He must have stepped up a lot more on defense. It looks like he's blocking a lot more shots. His offensive statistics look incredibly bad on paper. Good God.
  22. Of course, I'm talking strictly defense in Eddie's case. He'd be even more effective if he was given upwards of 30 MPG at his natural postion of PF, but that ain't happening with Kevin Garnett in the picture.
  23. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 07:54 AM) Eddie Griffin's numbers looked better coming off the bench last season... http://www.nba.com/playerfile/eddie_griffin/index.html He has stepped it up a notch this year. I've seen like 6 or 7 Timberwolves games, and I have been thoroughly impressed with what I've seen. He wasn't this good last year. I suppose that I can't really make an argument for him on paper.
  24. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 07:48 AM) Do you mean Adrian Griffin? Eddie Griffin on the Timberwolves. God damn has he been looking good recently.
