QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 24, 2006 -> 04:37 PM) Yeah. He wouldn't get as many offensive boards if we had an inside scorer since there wouldn't be as many 22 foot jumpers for him to go grab, but I think he would definitely get more points and putbacks. Same goes for a really good 2 guard, then can draw doubles and scatter the defense, which would also help Tyson. This team right now has everything a championship team needs except that really good 2 guard and interior scorer, problem is all the things we have (other than Tyson defensively and what Luol could be) aren't too hard to find (other than how young we are), but the 2 things we need are VERY hard to find. Hopefully those 2 high picks help. Players like Kirk Hinrich are insanely hard to find if we're talking intangibles, IMO. I used to think that he wasn't cut out for the point, but I was pretty much dead wrong. And Tyson would be getting more offensive rebounds if he was left alone IMO with a legitimate post scoring threat drawing the opposing team's PF and C. A lot of those taps to teammates would become surefire rebounds. And many of those 22 footers are bricks that get rebounded by backcourt players, SFs in the mid-range, etc. That's why I love Deng. He can be a crazy mid-range scorer in time, and if he misses, the rebound would not be outside of Tyson's realm. Ben Gordon, on the other hand? His bricks will help to pad the rebounding stats of backcourt players (and make Eddy Curry look worse in the process, if you catch my drift, lol).

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 24, 2006 -> 04:21 PM) My issue is we still need that big 2 guard who can defend his position decent AND score (isn't on the roster), a big man who is a legit post scorer (not on the roster) and a consistently very good wing player (which IMO will eventually be Luol Deng, which is why I'm so against trading him.) And that's another thing. Tyson is all alone down there. If we had a legit post scorer who could draw multiple defenders when in the act of shooting, Tyson would be getting even more offensive rebounds and wide open dunks. As you know from the charts that I have posted, Tyson is #1 in the league over the last 5 weeks in OREB/Minute, and nobody else even comes close. He's at like .175 OREB/Minute, and the next best is like .115.

Bucks vs. Bulls + Trade deadline talk
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Feb 24, 2006 -> 04:03 PM) haha The best part is, I still have the interview on Tivo, I should post it. Go for it. Do you still have the Clippers game on Tivo? Maybe you could watch that too. Okay, I'm done. I'll check back for the interview, or to see if there is even one other person on this site that actually heard what Kirk said in the proper context. I don't have to lie to get my point across, as opposed to some people. :rolly

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 24, 2006 -> 06:43 AM) Tyson Chandler only exists on half the floor We'll see what you have to say when he leads the NBA in offensive rebounding one of these years. He only had 70 offensive rebounds over a 12 game stretch recently. The next best over that stretch was like 40 or something? And he is one of the absolute best in the NBA at keeping offensive rebounds alive (batting them to teammates, etc). I know you're talking strictly scoring, but basketball (on the offensive end) is a little more complicated than that. Second chance opportunities are absolutely huge, and we have a guy who may turn out to be the best in the NBA at getting them. That tends to help out on the offensive end a little bit, don't you think?

Bucks vs. Bulls + Trade deadline talk
This is the last time that I'll post in this thread. I received a PM this morning from Kyle about the "Feelgood STFU Tour" in which me and Steff are getting pwned by Rock? I guess that Kyle thought that I was Rock, as he asked me how it felt to pwn both Steff and Hammerhead in two days time. Not that we weren't asked to stop talking about this, but... 1) Is there another person on this site who watched and actually understood the Kirk Hinrich interview, or am I on my own f***ing planet over here? Did Kirk not say point blank tht Tyson is the team MVP? He didn't preface it with jack s***. He was merely asked to comment on Tyson's performance. This is pretty f***ing far from rocket science or brain surgery. Remember, Rock said that Brand owned Tyson in the Clippers game, when in reality, Tyson shut him down when they were matched up against one another. Then he continued to insist that he watched the game. If you trust anything that he says, then you don't read these here threads very often. 2) Yes, I would take Bruce over Lebron in a heartbeat. If you understand what I type on here, you'd know by now that I like big scoring SGs/SFs who can get themselves high percentage shots. I have praised Lebron on more than one occasion. Also, it is impossible to put too much stock into defense. That's like saying that you have too much pitching in baseball. It doesn't make any f***ing sense. 3) Lots of people used to come out of the woodwork to talk s*** about Tyson, many times in direct response to something I would say. You people know who you are. All along, I have maintained that he is going to be something special. Everyone else was calling him a bust. So please, if you think I am being "childish and immature" about anything Tyson-related, then get the f*** outta here. I don't think people like the fact that I get to have the last laugh here, but whatever. In the end, I guess that I'm just irritated by piss-poor basketball talk. I'm not looking to make enemies. You think that I have problems with people who know their basketball (qwerty, DBAHO, Jason, Willie, Zoom, etc)? Nope. Never have, never will. And if I have so many enemies, how come I have never received even one warning on here in two years time? You would think that at least one admin would dislike me, yeah? I suppose that I just get special treatment.

Bucks vs. Bulls + Trade deadline talk
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 07:22 PM) He said he would be our MVP if he played like that every night. You arent the only person with a TV, so stop acting like it. Christ. Kirk said Tyson is our MVP period. He didn't preface it with "Well, if Tyson plays like this every night..." You didn't see the interview. You're just making s*** up, and who the hell knows why.

Bucks vs. Bulls + Trade deadline talk
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 06:01 PM) Well, I believe he said that Tyson WOULD be the MVP if he played like that every night. He had a good game, and 2 really nice blocks at the end of the game as well. Redd wondered where that arm came from as it swatted his shot. He said point blank: Tyson is the Team MVP without question, as if it's silly to suggest otherwise. You could tell by his facial expressions. Did you see the interview?

Bucks vs. Bulls + Trade deadline talk
Oh, and did anyone catch the Kirk Hinrich post-game interview? He said that Tyson Chandler is without question the Team MVP. Dumbf***s everywhere were hella confused after he said it. b****es felt stupid. But yeah, Kirk doesn't know his basketball too well.

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 05:51 AM) Hinrich let his man score at will on him tonight, Tyson played like crap, and Ben has had better shooting nights. Um, hello? Tyson won us the game, and Redd shot 35% from the field. Read more and post less. That's my advice for you, because you just can't seem to get ANYTHING right. It's pathetic.

Rotation Order
QUOTE(NYSox35 @ Feb 21, 2006 -> 02:41 AM) Team MVP...interesting. I think that is not necessarily true. Well.... If not Contreras, then who? I doubt that we'd have even made the playoffs if not for what he did after the All Star Break. 11-2 1.14 WHIP 2.96 ERA He won 8 consecutive starts to close out the season, and then he went 3-1 in the playoffs.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 19, 2006 -> 09:56 PM) The whole song is not Taylor, but the extended solo at the end certainly is. Yep, that sounds about right. I must have been thinking of "Sway", which he didn't get any credit for (or at least any partial credit). QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 19, 2006 -> 09:56 PM) There actually is a good Mick boot called Can't You Hear Me Knocking that is a recording of a pair of Chicago shows (one had Keith Richards sitting in) from the 80s. There are some good ones. I have some Lonestar Roadhouse show from the mid 80s where Keith sits in for a few tracks.

QUOTE(Yoda @ Feb 19, 2006 -> 12:02 AM) No love for Start Me Up? I hear that song in the car and I turn the volume up, up, up. That song is good. I like the early 1975 versions when they were experimenting with it in the studio, mostly because of the change-of-pace drumming by Mr. Charlie Watts. Charlie is without question my favorite member of the Stones.

Fav. Classic Rock Song
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 18, 2006 -> 09:43 PM) 'Can't You Hear Me Knocking?' That might be my favorite Stones song. That song is awesome. I went with my dad to see Mick Taylor at the House Of Blues back in 1999, and he performed a 10 minute instrumental version of that track. IIRC, that song is all Mick Taylor, although he never got proper credit for it on "Sticky Fingers".

Darko Milicic to be traded to Orlando
It's a good idea to get Chauncey and Big Ben locked down, but you have got to do better than Kelvin Cato and a non Top 5 pick for an immensely talented prospect like Darko Milicic. Great move by Orlando, although Baby Dwight and Darko are both PFs through and through. If I was going to pick one of those guys to man the C slot, it would obviously be Dwight Howard. It's all about big hips and big thighs. That's why Tyson Chandler ain't cut out for the C slot, but he'll continue to get the bulk of his minutes there with wack-ass Malik Allen serving as the only true C on the roster. Calling that dude a true C is a stretch, but at least he has some girth. Paxson is brilliant, as you all know.
