QUOTE(RME JICO @ Apr 11, 2006 -> 08:45 PM) His career numbers are comparable to Konerko's, but Konerko has been much more consistent. So Paulie's deal looks better now. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 11, 2006 -> 08:45 PM) That makes really no sense. Yeah, really. I mean, Derrek Lee blows Kong out of the f***ing water. You can make an argument that he is the best defensive first baseman in the majors. He's not just merely good with the glove. He is unbelievable. And his bat? The guy is just a freakshow. Over the past 10 years, has there been a better trade than Choi for Lee? That's what I want to know. Don't tell me Kong for Cameron.

This thread sucks balls. OMG, everyone is nutz at my school. -
Playoffs? This rotation f***ing sucks: B. Sheets D. Davis T. Ohka C. Capuano D. Bush R. Helling (Insurance) Check out some Doug Davis splits from 2005. His WHIP ratio away from Milwaukee was 1.45, which is pretty much terrible. Capuano's WHIP ratio away from Milwaukee was 1.43. Ohka is just beyond brutal. David Bush is their second best starter, and what does that tell you? Really, this staff belongs in Kansas City or Tampa Bay. Don't tell me that they have a shot at making the playoffs, even if the National League is a suckfest.

These kinds of threads don't work unless you name names. That's why I'm gonna have to call "Mad Gay" on this one. No offense to any of the homosexual posters here at soxtalk. -

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 06:00 PM) He'll also walk 100 times. Right, but then that just adds to Paul's RBI opportunites. He's gonna put up a monster OPS, but he's also going to fail in 72% of his ABs (not plate appearances). -

QUOTE(SoxRock05 @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 05:53 PM) If Konerko gets 40 homeruns he is likely to get maybe around 45 RBI's because little Jimmy over there is clearing the bases before Kong can get a chance. Yeah, that's pretty funny. Little Jimmy is a .280 hitter if he's lucky, though. That means that he's gonna fail in 72 out of every 100 ABs. I'm pretty sure that Kong will have plenty of RBI opportunities. I dunno, just call it a hunch. -

Awesome f***ing play by Crede. He bailed out weak-ass Scotty Pods right there. Rodriguez should have scored on that. -
QUOTE(Wedge @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 09:40 PM) In theory and on paper we might have the best rotation outside of Oakland, but they certainly have not played that way thus far. 5/162 = .03

Rongey = motherf***in' man And he's also a very handsome man.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 05:52 PM) Ketchup on hot dogs is a hanging offense. QUOTE(Cali @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 05:52 PM) Might not be the best choice of words seeing as not long ago some people believed being a certain color was a hangable offense too. If you say so, Jesse. Did you smoke a little PCP after you ate your morning Wheaties? Good God, man.

QUOTE(Wedge @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 02:56 PM) I have yet to see anything that indicates we'll have the best rotation in the division. We might still, but things do not look good. Ummm, we have the best rotation in the majors outside of Oakland. You're talking about us not even having the best rotation in our own division? Come on. Love the avatar, hate the terrible baseball thoughts.

We obviously suck hard. Why even bother watching any more games? When does the NFL season start? September? God damn son of a b****. What the f*** am I going to do for the next 5 months? :banghead

God damn man, I have to start reading these Pale Hose threads more often. I haven't laughed this hard since the "Snakes On A Plane" thread.

QUOTE(JimH @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 02:46 AM) My reputation on this board speaks for itself. If you have something to say to me you ignorant tool, say it via PM. You're right about the "know it all 30-something", but you forgot to add "smarmy prick" to the equation. Just to be clear about what I said, you don't know f*** all about baseball. And to clarify once more, shove your eye roll up your ass. OK? He called him an ignorant tool.
-
QUOTE(JimH @ Apr 7, 2006 -> 09:48 PM) Yeah sure know-it-all teenager (or 20-something). The rolly eye bulls*** and the "condescending crap" comment, yeah, that's being civil. The fact that you say I'm dead wrong shows you know f*** all about baseball. They have Logan as the lefty specialist, what is it about that you don't get? Are you that dense? Yeah, I think maybe you are. They brought him in to face the lefthander, micromanaging 2nd guesser. And guess what, micromanaging 2nd guesser, he'll do it again. That's exactly what he did last year. He tests guys out early in the season. If you had your way, he'd play all the regulars all the time and use 2 bullpen guys. Wake up. OMG, he ripped him a new one.

If Mike Jacobs turns out to be merely decent against left-handed pitching, he may whoop a little ass this year. 6 HR in 48 ABs at Shea Stadium? 11 HR in 100 ABs altogether? I know that it's a very small sample size, but he kicked some serious ass in the minors too.

QUOTE(WCSox @ Apr 4, 2006 -> 05:40 PM) I'll leave the slobbing on knobs to you, since you enjoy it so much. Otherwise, nice job of trolling. Are you calling me a homosexual? Have I told you lately how much your grammar sucks? I also heard that you misspelled something last week.
-
QUOTE(WCSox @ Apr 4, 2006 -> 03:53 PM) But his time in Chicago was over. The Sox are better off with a more-likely-to-be-healthy Thome who is also a much better clubhouse guy. Close, but no cigar. You forgot to slob on his knob. You have to end every Frank Thomas post with "But he's the greatest player in White Sox History and I'll always love him soooo much". Otherwise, nice copy & paste job.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Apr 4, 2006 -> 02:37 PM) I would be more inclined to say that the days of the 60 HR guys are long gone more than the 50 HR guy. Andruw Jones hit 51 last year, so it is still on the radar a bit. I definitely think that 50 HR is once again a very tough bench mark to reach, and no longer something that guys like Brady Anderson can just get on a good year(cough supplements cough). But a 50 HR season is only going to be accomplished anymore by upper echelon players. on a side note, looking at the HR totals throughout the last 15 years on this page, the "steroid era" in the late 90's really pops out at you. I can't believe that Andruw Jones made it to 50 HR. Atlanta and Philadelphia are nice parks to hit in, but the NL has like 7 of the best 10 pitching parks (Washington DC, New York, San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Milwaukee, Wrigley Field with the wind blowing in half the time, etc). I would expect that maybe one or two guys would reach 50 HR this year, and I'm really only looking at the AL East with all of those nice hitting parks (Alex Rodriguez, David Ortiz). Playing a good amount of games in Seattle and Oakland will hold Teixera back from hitting 50. People got so used to dudes putting up 50 HR that it's just natural to say "He can go for 50 this year". That's really the point that I was trying to make in response to dicky baby's post. But you're right, there are exceptions like Andruw Jones, etc.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Apr 4, 2006 -> 12:10 PM) Thome is a guy who potentially could hit 50 homers The days of the 50 HR mang are long gone, dicky baby. He has the potential to duke it out with Alex Rodriguez, David Ortiz, Mark Teixera, and Chris Shelton for the AL HR crown, though.
