  1. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 4, 2006 -> 01:10 PM) Yep, we are all stupid. Just like Tyson Chandler proving b****es wrong.....oh wait, you were even smart enough to remove that from your sig. When Frank is injured within a month of now, make sure to stick with your boy this time at least. LOL, smart posters like genius and cheat just play along, and meanwhile, you continue to misunderstand everything. 1) Robots = A sizeable group of posters who spew the same word for word Thome>Thomas nonsense over and over and over and over again, as if it needed to be said for like the millionth time. I didn't say that everyone on soxtalk is a robot. I said that there are a bunch of robots on soxtalk. Get it? 2) I'd rather have Thome than Frank at this point. When did I ever indicate otherwise? I know that Frank can't stay healthy. That doesn't mean that it should be reiterated a million f***ing times. 3) Yeah, I abandoned Tyson Chandler, and then I removed some portion of my signature. I'm not sticking with my boy. That's why I have him in my avatar at talkbulls.com :rolly I'll sit here and wait for a valid thought, though. Don't make we wait too long.
  2. I think that the word you're looking for is parody, genius.
  3. QUOTE(G&T @ Apr 3, 2006 -> 01:57 PM) I'll never forget that grand slam by valentine. It is impossible to be any more Puerto Rican than Jose is. Some may try, but they just can't f*** with him. And yet, people still refer to him as "Valentine", which is Italian.
  4. QUOTE(rventura23 @ Apr 4, 2006 -> 03:50 AM) I would much rather have Thome than Thomas, considering salary and the trade. Thomes a better guy to have around, is less of an injury risk, and will do better than Frank this year (prediction) although I love Frank and hes the greatest white sox in my life time (if not ever) Good God, you just reiterated what like a million other motherf***ers have said, word for word. :puke Are there a bunch of robots posting on soxtalk, or is it just me?
  5. QUOTE(zenryan @ Apr 3, 2006 -> 03:41 AM) what did you guys do? haha I had sex and then I ate some hot wings afterwards.
  6. QUOTE(letsgoarow @ Apr 2, 2006 -> 08:31 PM) Milli Vanilla I've heard of them. I think that's Jose Valentine's favorite group. Milli Vanilli is pretty good too. They're pretty f***ing far from heterosexual, but you know, I can dig it.
  7. Ummm, yeah. How in the hell were we able to sign this beast for so cheap? Less than 10 million a year? In the second half of 2005, he was arguably the best starter in all of baseball outside of Johan, and easily our team MVP. No, it was not AJ, sorry. I'm pumped. I dunno about some of y'all, but this is terrific news as far as I'm concerned.
  8. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Apr 1, 2006 -> 01:44 PM) What are you talking about? The limit is .08, not .100. And even if it was .100, the kid cleared that too. He is a qualified drunk in this case, no matter what way you look at it. Here's what I originally said: .133 is a damn good buzz, but it doesn't qualify as *drunk* in the vast vast vast vast vast majority of cases. Remember, the old limit used to be .100. Hmmm, you must have missed that part of my post. I can't say that I'm surprised, though. And when Abe said 'Lock him up and throw away the key", I don't think it was due to the fact that Liriano is an up-and-coming pitcher on the Twins. Nice angle, but I ain't buying that for a minute. IMO dude is just another hardcore conservative. I hope that I'm wrong, but I seriously doubt it.
  9. QUOTE(sti3 @ Mar 31, 2006 -> 09:47 PM) How's that batting coach career doing, Jake? Nice grammar too. Jake is still playing in pee wee league or whatever. He wasn't even alive when Frank made his debut in a White Sox uniform. His baseball knowledge is absolutely outstanding! Now, if only he could lose that virgin tongue...
  10. QUOTE(AbeFroman @ Mar 31, 2006 -> 09:20 PM) i say lock him up and throw away the key. .133 is a damn good buzz, but it doesn't qualify as *drunk* in the vast vast vast vast vast majority of cases. Remember, the old limit used to be .100. "Lock him up and throw away the key" LOL. Was he beating his wife and molesting his children as well? Give me a break, dude. If he cleared .200 like a whole gang of 85 Bears, then maybe I could see your point, but he wasn't anywhere close to that.
  11. QUOTE(samclemens @ Mar 29, 2006 -> 12:59 AM) based on... twinks suck worse this year than last! You can make an argument that they have the best bullpen in all of baseball. They're a pretty solid all-around defensive club (pitching, position players, etc). This lineup is good, albeit nothing special: 1. Shannon Stewart 2. Luis Castillo 3. Justin Morneau 4. Joe Mauer 5. Rondell White 6. Torii Hunter 7. Tony Batista 8. Michael Cuddyer 9. Jason Bartlett I don't know what their 7-9 in the order is going to look like, actually. But I see no reason why they can't win 85 to 88 games.
  12. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Mar 28, 2006 -> 06:56 AM) But still, they're screwed if Pedro goes down. The Mets and every single one of your fantasy teams, I'm guessing. Yep, it might have been a mistake to draft him in the second round this year with the toe issues and what not. But I've had him on all of my fantasy teams since like 2001, so why give up on him now. That dude is the man. He's easily my favorite pitcher in the MLB.
  13. It also occured to me that left-handed hitters are going to kill the Mets this year. Chad Bradford .410 BAA Duaner Sanchez .310 BAA Jorge Julio .281 BAA And Royce Ring had a 2.05 WHIP against left-handed hitters last year. Can Billy Wagner pitch every inning of relief for them?
  14. QUOTE(sircaffey @ Mar 28, 2006 -> 06:36 AM) Sanchez has some filthy stuff. When he pitched against us last year, I was impressed. Hawk and DJ were as well. Sanchez could turn out to be a helluva pitcher. And he's pretty young (26). I think he'll be one of the Mets best relievers next season. Well, his road WHIP last year was 1.60, which is pretty much terrible. He'll definitely have to improve on that.
  15. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Mar 28, 2006 -> 06:13 AM) Also, Duaner Sanchez = product of Dodger Stadium (or whatever it may be called now, I don't care about these things), not Shea. Which is just to say, yes, I noticed that, I thought about that. Okay, fair enough. But he looked darn good there. I think he'll be at least decent at Shea. There you go. It has more to do with his surroundings than it has to do with actual pitching talent, and his numbers should be significantly worse on the road. I'd like to see how he performs in Philadelphia, or in Atlanta.
  16. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Mar 28, 2006 -> 05:39 AM) The Mets don't have much rotation depth, okay. But in the pen you have Jorge Julio (their Luis Vizcaino), and (for now) Aaron Heilman, and Duaner Sanchez. I think Ring and Bradford will be at least ML average. All backed by, da da da da, Billy Wagner. It's not bad, even in terms of depth. I like Wagner, Julio, and Heilman, but I'm not impressed by the rest of them. Sanchez appears to be a product of Shea Stadium. I dunno about Bradford. He gave up a .410 batting average to left-handed hitters last year? Good God. The book on Royce Ring is that he sucks badly, but maybe there's an outside chance that he could turn it around. I'm sure that someone will emerge and pitch well, but chances are that one of their big three (Wagner/Julio/Heilman) will get injured, and then you'll have a bullpen crisis. And if a starter goes down, I'm assuming that Heilman will step up and fill that slot. Also, their rotation minus Pedro looks like it belongs in Kansas City. It's not just merely bad. It's gruesome.
  17. QUOTE(SuperSteve @ Mar 28, 2006 -> 05:27 AM) Damon, Jeter, ARod, Shefield, Giambi, Matsui, Cano... with Big Unit, Pavano bounch back year? Wright bounce back? Mussina. They're fine. Are you dissing Jorge?
  18. QUOTE(Felix @ Mar 28, 2006 -> 05:25 AM) The Yankees have no pitching depth either, but they are mentioned? Have you looked at their lineup lately? That 1-7 is among the best in baseball history. They also have just enough pitching to get by & win an even 90 games. That's what it's gonna take to win the AL East IMO.
  19. QUOTE(Felix @ Mar 28, 2006 -> 05:05 AM) I don't think Houston should be in that list (losing Clemens is a huge blow), nor should Minnesota. Since right now we are only talking about teams on paper, the Mets should be there, as should the Phillies. But yes, the AL is much better than the NL. On paper, the Mets have terrible pitching depth. They have dudes like Glavine and Trachsel starting games for them. Victor Zambrano sucks hard as well, yeah? They don't have bullpen depth. Amazing lineup, though. That 3-6 combo of Wright/Delgado/Beltran/Floyd is f***ing insane, but it ain't gonna be enough. The Phillies also have a pretty bad overall pitching staff with little to no depth. I'm not scared of anybody in their starting staff with the exception of Myers. The AL has all of the pitching depth right now, and that's where it's at. That's how you build. Good job K-Dub.
  20. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Mar 28, 2006 -> 05:11 AM) I fully expect Francouer to suck this year and suck badly. Well, that sucks. I have him on my fantasy team.
  21. QUOTE(SuperSteve @ Mar 28, 2006 -> 05:10 AM) They're the Braves too. Yep, that's why I put them in the Top 10, but that bullpen is one of the three or four worst in the majors. That is what I would call a devastating weakness.
  22. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Mar 28, 2006 -> 05:06 AM) You forgot Toronto who would also win the east or west in the nl imo. Who would you take out of that group?
  23. Atlanta's bullpen sucks balls, too. They have a few too many raw position players. Putting them in the Top 10 is a stretch, actually.
  24. Hey, would it be accurate to say that the AL has 7 of the 10 best teams in the majors this year? New York Boston Chicago Cleveland Minnesota Anaheim Oakland St. Louis Houston Atlanta Call me crazy, but that's how I see it. Put the Twins in the NL East or the NL West, and they're Division winners IMO. The Wild Card Race in the AL is going to be insane this year.
