QUOTE(Spiff @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 05:58 AM) I sense a fan of the Sugarhill Gang /kidding Haha, no not really. It all starts with RUN DMC in 1983 when the Party Rap Era was starting to fade a bit. You like Sage Francis? He used to come on 89.3 (Northwestern University) on the "Time Travel Show" all the time between 1998 and 2002 with Sole, Dose One, Atoms Family, Slug Of Atmosphere, Aesoprock, etc. The show came on once a week for 3 hours every Thursday night, and I recorded it as often as I could. I have somewhere in the neighborhood of 500 Time Travel tapes buried in my closet, including a lot of those live freestyle sessions with Sage Francis, etc. I also have some Non Prophets (Sage's original crew) records somewhere too.

QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 05:55 AM) There is nothing that I hate more than commercial rap music. I take it back. I think that I hate poodles even moreso, but commercial rap music is up there on my enormous list of things that I can't stand.

Yep, I can't even begin to explain how many times I've had to defend old school and underground hip hop from people who think that rap music is basically what you see on television or hear on the radio. There is nothing that I hate more than commercial rap music.

Ben Gordon has upside as a 3 point specialist. I'll give him that.
-
QUOTE(q\/\/3r+y @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 05:30 AM) If gordon averages 30 a game all will be forgiven. Isiah Thomas is impressed. With the trade deadline coming up, Gordon couldn't have picked a better time to start making more than 38% of his shots.

THANK GOD

Say, who is that BEAST with the #3 jersey?

This blows. If we don't win this game, we're going 0-7 on this trip.

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 04:09 AM) 14, 9, and a block last year. Not the best defense, but we have no inside presence. I just won't mind if the Bulls end up with two top ten picks, but will the talent in the draft be worth a losing season? What's up with the new avatar, man? Maybe I'll ask my wife to hold up a looseleaf sheet of paper that says "HAMMERHEAD IS A DOUCHE BAG". I'll get back to y'all on that.

I know that we're not supposed to talk about Tyson Chandler in this thread, but I don't think we're going to have a choice here: Since Tyson was inserted into the starting lineup: Offensive Rebounds Per Minute (Last 7 Games) 1. Tyson Chandler .180 OREB/MINUTE 2. Kendrick Perkins .150 OREB/MINUTE 3. Troy Murphy .128 OREB/MINUTE 4. Drew Gooden .118 OREB/MINUTE 5. Robert Swift .113 OREB/MINUTE 6. Ben Wallace .110 OREB/MINUTE 7. Kenny Thomas .110 OREB/MINUTE 8. Shaquille O'Neal .100 OREB/MINUTE 9. Jamal Magloire .090 OREB/MINUTE 10. Dwight Howard .090 OREB/MINUTE If not for Kendrick Perkins, he'd be pretty much blowing away the competition in OREB/MINUTE. Rebounds Per Minute (Last 7 Games) 1. Tyson Chandler .400 2. Troy Murphy .376 3. Tim Duncan .330 4. Jamal Magloire .330 5. Chris Kaman .330 6. Drew Gooden .330 7. Shaquille O'Neal .324 8. Sammy Dalembert .322 9. Kendrick Perkins .312 10. Robert Swift .304 Once again, if not for one guy (Troy Murphy), Tyson would be blowing away the competition. So, how's that for a little Tyson Talk? -
Happy Birthday, man.

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Feb 6, 2006 -> 09:28 PM) Drew Gooden to the Bulls? Here's the article. http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives..._a_gooden_deal/ Oh man, way to put a damper on my day. :headshake -
QUOTE(DePloderer @ Feb 2, 2006 -> 10:35 PM) Cream - White Room One of my favorite bootlegs is the Cream's BBC Sessions: Prehistoric Sounds 1CD You want to talk about a front-to-back slammer? Good God, did Cream have material or what?

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Feb 5, 2006 -> 09:02 AM) I also left out Simon & Garfunkel because I am not sure they fit this genre. Some of these songs may have already been mentioned, but I couldn't remember I'm not a Paul Simon fan, but "Sounds Of Silence" is a kick-ass song. I've been getting into a lot of Dire Straits stuff recently too. They probably don't qualify because they emerged in the Disco era, but then again, Pink Floyd tracks from "The Wall" should qualify as classic rock, so I'll mention this absolutely phenomenal track: The Sultans Of Swing
-
It's too difficult to choose just two songs, but here you go: Rolling Stones: Street Fighting Man Jimi Hendrix: All Along The Watchtower And I'll just go ahead and choose two songs from my favorite band: Beatles: We Can Work It Out Beatles: In My Life And Bob Dylan too, although they're both from bootlegs: Don't Think Twice, It's Alright (Live In Manchester 1965) Idiot Wind (NY Sessions Outtake 1974)
