Well....guess who is 'offended' by the movie...... Tehran- Iran on Monday strongly condemned the US film company Warner Bros. over the allegedly "anti-Iranian" blockbuster film 300. Javad Shamqadri, art advisor to President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, told Fars news agency that the film was an insult to Persian culture and in line with the American "psychological war" against Iran. Zack Snyder's film, based on a comic book by Frank Miller, tells the story of the battle of Thermopylae in Greek history in which 300 Spartan warriors led by King Leonidas heroically fought a massive Persian army attack, delaying an invasion by King Xerxes' forces and giving Greeks time for a counterattack. Iran's has called foul over what it calls "deviation of history" but also because the Persians in the film were shown as "ugly and violent creatures rather than human beings." The news network Khabar organised a special programme in which the film was evaluated from several angles by film critics who argued that the film's alleged efforts to expose Persians as violent was a US political plot implemented through Hollywood and the Warner Bros. company. The state-run network also linked the film to ongoing political differences between Washington and Tehran such as the nuclear dispute. The film critics further said that after Germans, Japanese, Russians and Arabs, Iranians seem to become the new "villian" in Hollywood productions. A large number of Iranians abroad have already started a worldwide email campaign to send protest missives to Warner Bros. for having insulted Persian culture and history. The film reportedly made 70 million dollars over its opening weekend, making it the first official blockbuster of the year

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Mar 10, 2007 -> 05:54 PM) John C. McGinley gets NO love and I really don't get it. The man is an incredibly versatile actor who's pulled off some the of the most amazing moments in sitcom history. The wide range of emotions that he goes through within episodes is just amazing. I wholeheartedly agree. I've seen McGinley play roles of psycho killers (Intensity) and in comedies and he is always top notch.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 9, 2007 -> 03:48 PM) Im interested to see how many of Sylar's talents that Peter picked up. Basically they could have a super-hero face off and just throw each others talents around. i would think that the overload of talents from Sylar would be what pushes Peter towards exploding and destroying NY. (not that i'd cry over the loss of those arrogant bastards...lol)

QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Mar 9, 2007 -> 01:53 AM) Peter may not die. But I didn't see that coming for the other guy (don't want to play spoiler). It must hurt being pinned to the ceiling until April. Mohinder isn't going anywhere. He's hurt but he won't die. The scenes for next show showed one clip of him picking himself up off the floor. I think Peter will use his mind power to throw Sylar across the room (much to his surprise) and then go invisible. Sylar will lose concentration and Mohinder will fall to the floor. Sylar will use his new-found hearing power to track down Peter but run off because he can't control it yet. Oh well.....that's how i see it happening anyways. Man..late April seems so far away.

QUOTE(Mplssoxfan @ Mar 7, 2007 -> 09:03 PM) Can Cap have really outlived his usefulness? Are you telling me he couldn't cross the Khyber Pass and find Mullah Omar? At least the writers didn't have him coming out of the closet or anything

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Sacramento Kings forward Ron Artest was arrested Monday and excused indefinitely from the team after a woman said he shoved her to the floor inside his home and prevented her from calling 911. Placer County sheriff's authorities said the woman reported she and Artest were arguing inside the home Monday morning when he pushed her. The argument moved outside when Artest tried to leave in his Hummer, sheriff's Sgt. Andrew Scott said during a news conference. "It resulted in some pushing," Scott said of the argument. "Mr. Artest had shoved the victim to the floor several times, then he attempted to leave." The woman threw a pot at the Hummer, shattering its windshield, Scott said. He would not disclose the woman's relationship with Artest but said a 3-year-old girl was inside the house during the incident. Deputies arrived around 9:30 a.m. at Artest's five-acre estate in the Sacramento suburb of Loomis and arrested him on suspicion of domestic violence, sheriff's spokeswoman Dena Erwin said. He also was arrested on suspicion of using force or violence to prevent the woman from reporting a crime.

Heck.....on the other side...you got Bill Maher saying the word would be a safer place if Cheney would have been blown up in that attack last week. There are loud mouthed idiots on both sides. ** i don't usually agree with Rush but alot of people who follow the Oscars said it was a pretty lame show.**

Small update regarding Season 2 of this wonderful show.... According to Tim Kring in an interview with Sci Fi Wire, the hit show Heroes will start a whole new chapter come season 2. "If you remember, the opening of the pilot pronounced the episode as the beginning of Volume One," Kring said. "Volume One comes to a conclusion at the end of episode 23, and Volume Two starts with the opening of season two. And Volume Two is a different story." "We could have new people and new storylines and new ideas and new threats and new bad guys and new heroes. So I would prepare the audience for that idea, that it's not just a continuing serialized storyline about only these people. It's a little more the 24 model than the Lost model." "Many of your favorites will live to fight again." Some old Heroes and some new. Could be interesting.

Not that it's a big surprise or anything but here is a report on Bam Bam Bigalow's autopsy report.... "Dave Meltzer reports that the autopsy results have come in on Bam Bam Bigelow. His death was due to multiple drugs in his system, cocaine and benzodiazetine (an anti-anxiety drug) at lethal levels. His was also suffering from heart disease."

Hockey referee attacked, but doctors find tumour Updated Thu. Feb. 22 2007 8:34 PM ET A vicious attack on a Saskatoon referee may actually have saved his life, after doctors examined him and noticed a brain tumour. Doctors first treated Dale Neudorf for a broken nose and split lip -- injuries he suffered when hockey player Nolan Crighton allegedly cross-checked him in the face. "The whole incident of the game is a little bit fuzzy," Neudorf told reporters Thursday. The attack happened during a recreational game near Meadow Lake, Sask., and RCMP officers are still looking for Crighton. But Neudorf said he feels no anger towards Crighton, who he has refereed for years. "If somebody cranked you over the head with a shovel or something and put you in the hospital, and they accidentally found something -- I think everyone in this room would be happy if it was found, no matter the circumstance surrounding," said Neudorf. Doctors at Saskatoon's Royal University Hospital gave Neudorf numerous tests after treating his facial injuries, when they made the alarming discovery. "The CAT scan picked up that I do have a tumour growing right in the middle of my brain, it looks like," said Neudorf. "They're not sure what it is, how long it's been there or how fast it's growing." Neudorf's wife, Leanne, said she's thankful for the bizarre twist of fate that led to the medical examination. "Maybe we wouldn't have known otherwise until it was too late," she told reporters. Doctors say they will likely operate on the tumour, but Neudorf said he wants to get back to refereeing as soon as he can.

LOS ANGELES -- Doug Christie, who signed a second 10-day contract with the Los Angeles Clippers earlier this month, was suspended by the team on Tuesday. Christie informed the Clippers last weekend that he no longer wanted to play for them. He was contractually bound to Los Angeles through Tuesday night's game against Phoenix, after which he can sign with another team. He averaged 2.2 points and 1.8 rebounds in six games for Los Angeles. He signed his second contract with them on Feb. 11. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dude...it's a 10 DAY deal. STFU, get your lousy 2.2 ppg and then next week DON'T SIGN ANOTHER!!!!!!! Idiot

Uno is probably my family's favorite. We like to play dirty in that you can 'stack' draw two and draw fours and we play match (ie a green 8 is played you call match and play your green 8 whether it's your turn or not.) it makes it more exciting and faster. Trumpet is another card game we play and a trivia game called Perfect 10 we've been playing as well.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Feb 22, 2007 -> 03:54 PM) How was this a bad episode? They reveled not only where the others lived to the survivers, but revealed that they have yards, and a whole community. Then it was reveled that some of the captives are still alive and there to watch. I thought this was one of the best episodes yet, they are starting to reveal things to us and the survivors. but after the season premiere we already KNEW they have backyards, their own little suburb in the jungle. That's nothing new. i think alot of people are upset because they have been listening all week to the promos saying they are going to answer three big questions and the only one they really answered was about Jack's tattoos and honestly.....that wasn't a really big question.

Sad news today........ Former ECW world champion Mike Awesome, 42, has passed away. His real name was Mike Alfonso. According to reports, Awesome was found dead on Saturday morning in the Tampa Area. Friends were coming to his home in Tampa to pick him up and go out Saturday night at about 10:30 p.m. and he never answered the door and found him hanging in the home. It is believed the death was due to suicide pending results of the autopsy. In addition to working in the U.S., he also worked for FMW in Japan. He will probably be most remembered as the ECW champion that signed with WCW when he still held the title. Tazz was brought in by WWE to take the title from him, as he jumped to WCW. Awesome announced his retirement from wrestling in early 2006. Curse you 70's guy/Fat Chick Thriller writers for wasting the talents of a very agile big man.

The drug testing theory probably makes the most sense but when it first happened I was thinking along the lines of maybe she did it because it was falling out anyways due to so many hair color changes and other chemicals. My sister had the same problem a few years ago. She was changing her hair color so often that it began to fall out. It could be a quick way for Brit to start over.
