i'd at least want hudson....don't matter if they get burnett/perez/clement with it.

I think Jose Contreras could be an excellent closer if put in that role....IMHO

no dammit.....only settle for that if you can't get Hudson.... but seriously...they need to get one of these top tier guys KW is wanting for the 5 man rotation. whether it's perez , clement , johnson :headshake , or hudson

Arizona will still be asking somewhere near the same price for a while...IMO. they still have until july trade deadline to get rid of him....though i think he will be traded sometime in the offseason...arizona still has the option of waiting until july...when a team desperately would need his services. But if Arizona desperately wants to get rid of him now....then i see where the Diamondbacks would take less for him..

besides..the sox can always trade come june/july for a little offensive help. KW still has minor leaguers to trade

Signing Clement/Perez and adding AJ..is the same as trading all those people and getting Johnson's contract. signing Clement/Perez=at most approx. 8 million/year signing AJ=approx. 4 million/year comes to approx. 12 million from the approx. 10 million they have to spend...making it 77 million instead of the 75 million getting rid of the players and adding Johnson comes to 12 million(i read in chisoxfn's post earlier): this fills the hole of another pitcher and catcher. Also the Sox keep Garland and all the other players.

All for getting the Unit....but not for their asking price. The Sox can give up far less and aquire Hudson.....or just sing Clement/Perez...and AJ.

damn...i figured that would be the first move of the offseason...to sign another good SP, and it is yet to be done. Now he says that they are ok with Grilli or Hermy starting if need be. I don't think I could take that news if it turns out that way. I'll go crazy

and everyone wanted to get rid of konerko over lee....including me. But after looking at that article and realizing the stats and the type of player Lee is...i'm glad we still have konerko and i like the deal that much more.

if the scrubs were smart they wouldn't do that. drew is the better/ and healthier option for right now IMO. saying that....i too see them getting maggs..cuz the scrubs aren't smart.

same response as Greasy.....there are better options out there that aren't even on ESPN's or Rotoworlds radar until a team signs them....Hermanson was on noones radar until the sox signed him.....
