well put, but Damon came up with the Royals, not the A's

Disheartening Article: Magglios GAWN in 05.
Oh alright, didnt read this. Reading articles regarding the situation probably helps.. maybe the fact that it is not early in the negotiations as Maggs has already broken them off..

I called Maggs a liar in this thread?

Disheartening Article: Magglios GAWN in 05.
keep in mind Abreu's contract was signed when money was grown on trees including multi multi multi 6 times over deals to Manny Ramirez and Alex Rodriguez.. If Abreu is comparable to Maggs which I think is a pretty good comparison, and Abreu was given his contract in a time where the market was inflated, I think Maggs actually should be given less than Abreu.

2005 contract information
Ha, i knew that would come up sooner rather than later, but I have to go with who i've been rooting for my entire life, where i grew up, where my roots are, and that would be in Red Sox Nation

Stewart and Mauer back?
Mauer's going to be a good player, he's got such a pure swing.

Disheartening Article: Magglios GAWN in 05.
what continues to strike me as fascinating is the fact that all of our concerns are with Magglio when JR and Maggs' agent have been millions of dollars off, all the while we have Esteban Loaiza whos been just as important, if not more important to this White Sox team this season and last becoming eligible for free agency too. It's stupid. Let Magglio walk, pick up two draft picks, sign Loaiza. End of story.

2005 contract information
Valentin(5), Loaiza(3.5), Magglio(14), Koch(6.5) are all coming off the books next year. Loaiza will be resigned, no doubt in my mind. So his contract will probably boost up to around 5 million dollars. So that leaves 24 million dollars available for using on free agency etc. even with the rather weak free agent class this coming offseason, it will still be nice to possibly add some salary via trade which makes things pretty interesting if you ask me.

NBA Finals Thread
LA has game 5 and game 7 in the books just about it, obviously they still need to get one in detroit and I think if it doesnt come in game 4, it could very well happen in game 6. I have been very surprised with how dominating Detroit has been at times though, so maybe my thinking should be taken with a grain of salt ;o

Baseball
Vlad has his team in first place, has them selling out game after game and it's definitly not because of Bartolo, so my vote goes to Vlad although Schilling, Clemens, and Uribe aren't far behind.

Baseball Players Face Felony Charges
These kids dont deserve jail time, just a small fine, and some community service, sheesh.

Harold Reynolds
How would Harold Reynolds know this? I can see Gammons who writes for the Globe, but how on earth does Reynolds know whats going on behind the scenes? seems like crap to me.

Maggs to the Mets?
yea it really is odd how one team could have had him for nothing and then now we'll give up a top prospect third basemen or Kazmir for him.. seems odd..

NBA Finals Thread
Im glad I got to see what Darko's all about... He is one of the worst players at this point i've seen in a while.. it sucks the C's are interested...

Brave little boy who deserves our prayers
What an awesome story it would be if this kid lives.. come on man, pull through..

Uribe and the All-Star Game
yea, he's gotten his average up all the to 265, he still is tops in the league in walks and on base percentage, hes also got about 35 rbis. Bellhorn could very well be the starting second baseman at the all-star game.

Naples, FL
I stayed in Naples during my visit to Ft. Myers for Spring Training this past spring, and i really enjoyed it. The beach was great, dolphins were coming up to the shore and you could in a sense swim with them. As for places to eat, there was this place at "the Village" that I really just wasn't good, so after that we stuck to something we knew and something cheap and just went to Chili's and then Bennigans right next to our hotel. The mall is also a fun place to go, they've got some good stores for a rainy day. Hmm, what else.. In Fort Myers only a short few miles away there is the Red Sox minor league facility, and that was probably more fun than anything else. well, i'll stop babbling on, have a good trip.
