  1. QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ Sep 4, 2006 -> 09:59 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Trades can also be made in September. The August 31 deadline is for playoff rosters There are really never trades that happen in September though.
  2. I really just don't understand it. Every other day there is a new thead poking fun at how much "kool-aid" people are drinking. It's a joke. Why do you people give a s***?
  3. There is a waiver and non-waiver trade deadline. Wells had passed through waivers and therefore was eligible to be traded.
  4. What is your obsession with other teams boards? I really don't understand the insecurities here.
  5. PTBNL, he didn't make it through waivers. Good stuff.
  6. Yea, I'm praying for Lester. It's unimaginable to consider what happened to this Red Sox team in such a short amount of time. Nixon, Varitek, Wakefield, Ortiz, Ramirez, Beckett, Lester, Pena and now Wells is being traded. This is a good pick-up for San Diego. I just can't wait to see for whom.
  7. Zito will not get $20 million dollars, period. That's just silly. As for Zito to Boston. I've always thought he'd be in Boston, trades never happened. I don't think its likely with this signing of Oswalt. Beckett for 10, Damon offered 10, etc.; Notice a trend...
  8. No details have been given yet, but it says there is a mystery team. Perhaps the White Sox will rip the Red Sox off again.
  9. A Press Conference has been set. Astro fans are convinced its for 5 years and 73 million dollars. Wow.
  10. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Aug 28, 2006 -> 03:47 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You guys are much worse off. Much, much worse. No, we are not.
  11. Fans who are unreasonable may be comical to some, but in my opinion having such a passion for your team is what makes sports so good. I just fail to see the humor, especially at a time when the White Sox are just as worse off as the Red Sox are. It sucks for both of us.
  12. The Head On stuff does wonders for my headaches, although they aren't migraines, it might help.
  13. Head On. Apply directly to the forehead. Head On. Apply directly to the forehead. Head On. Apply directly to the forehead. Head On. Apply directly to the forehead. Head On. 14. Alex Gonzalez wasn't a type A free agent, nor was he offered arbitration by the Marlins if I remember correctly.
  15. His name is BJ. Can anyone revert me to some of the things Dukes has done that make him such a cancer?
  16. Ha. Take off your Red Sox hatred goggles. Laughable.
  17. Would you rather have Ortiz or Pujols at the plate in that situation?
  18. Nady is a feared corner outfielder? He hasn't been very good at all this year, and he plays a corner outfield position which is the easiest position to fill. You don't trade Perez' upside for Nady, and to include Hernandez whom if traded a few weeks could have gotten much more value. Not to mention, they could have used that package to acquire Linebrink, who has closer/set-up man written all over him.
  19. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 04:09 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Maddux would get absolutely hammered in the al, era of over 5.5 with ease in this league. He was just an example, and even so thats not far off from what this rotation is doing day in and day out. It's stupid that Abreu wasn't had for nothing, it's stupid that the White Sox didn't go after Hernandez and Perez for nothing, and then shipping them to San Diego for Linebrink, the list goes on and on.
  20. Why wouldn't the White Sox take a flier on Maddux? Or the Red Sox for that matter? He was had for nothing, the Cubs payed a million bucks to do so. He's never been fond of the American League, with good reason, but its his last run at a Series. There were far too many salary dumps, its a shame that both the White Sox and Red Sox (two big market teams) didn't act on it.
  21. Ace Adams, my dads best friend and Lester's manager throughout the Red Sox minor league system has talked Lester up to me for years. I just can't support him being moved, even if at this point in time he's been better than he'll be for the rest of year.
  22. http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/reds...sox_update.html Nothing major going on in Beantown. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 12:50 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well. I wouldnt say top flight. Coco is pretty good, Lester is the true prize in the offer. Still not a good trade though. Crisp has been hurt, I'm not going to judge him entirely after less than 300 at-bats. Lester is incredible, I wouldn't trade him for Jones straight up considering you already have Crisp patrolling centerfield. and Hansen has shown flashes of brilliance this season. You just don't make that trade, and Theo won't.
  23. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 12:47 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Are you cereal? No, I'm not cereal. My name is frosted flakes and I know secret rumors that nobody will ever know, not even after the deadline concludes. urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=cereal
