  1. QUOTE(Yoda @ Sep 20, 2006 -> 02:00 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Can't wait to see what he says about his Red Sawx . . . He said that Jon Lester would be a 100 win pitcher someday.
  2. No intensity, no heart, etc. So what do you call the Pierzynski home run against Cleveland, bailing out the bullpen the next night, that eight inning performance by Jose Contreras against Anaheim... These are just examples in the last couple of weeks. I saw two of the greatest games I've ever seen in my life this year, one in Wrigley on a Pierzynski home run, and one in the Cell when the White Sox pulled off the valiant effort against my Red Sox. This team has played with heart, with desire, with intensity? Thing's just didn't go there way. As Rock said, that's baseball. I know on MVP you'll see the White Sox win the World Series, but this isn't a video game. Sometimes people get hurt, sometimes people don't perform as you'd expect them to. Sometimes teams with the most talent on paper don't perform as you'd expect them to. This team played with all of the things many people on here are mocking. Be reasonable and not laughable. You aren't going to win the World Series every year, lose that mindset, or stop watching the White Sox altogether, because seeing them win another championship in the next ten years would be a treat that many fans of teams won't be able to see.
  3. Michigan/Ohio St? Give me a break. What a laugher that is.
  4. Not a knock on the South Side Media, but if this was going on in Boston, he'd be gone. Francoma sticks around, not because he's a great manager, but because he's laid back, isn't outspoken, and really only talks when he's talken to. Ozzie Guillen is a disgrace.
  5. Carl Crawford isn't going anywhere. Fuhgettabouit.
  6. QUOTE(qwerty @ Sep 10, 2006 -> 04:37 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well for one.. if you are letting the world see what you have to say... why not try and be as accurate as possible? I agree, it's comical to me however that the White Sox lose a couple games and this team sucks, this teams done, life is over, people are no longer excited to go to games or watch them. It just seems that there are unreasonable fans wherever board you attend, especially on here.
  7. I thought it was legal to gamble if you were 18? What's the big deal here?
  8. QUOTE(The Critic @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 06:09 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ...wasn't it only like a week or two ago that we were chuckling about the meltdowns on the Red Sox message boards? This is a hilarious thread. This is why this whole "argument," if you can even call it such, is so ridiculous. So basically Ozzie Guillen is a bad coach for wanting improvement out of his young centerfielder who, however you want to dice it, has put together a terrible season at the dish? False. Ozzie Guillen has been a bad manager because he makes horrible in-game decisions, and then even worse decisions off the field. Scott Podsednik has been beat up this year, but placing blame on anyone but him, considering he was the driving force for one of the worst offenses in baseball last year, is just plain ridiculous. Freddy Garcia, Javier Vazquez? Mark Buehrle's woes in the second half? The players who have had to step up haven't, the players who stepped up last year, have not. I was suspended from this board because I was so ashamed of Ozzie Guillen's managing abilities, or lack thereof. The guy has never been a good manager, hell, he's never been even an average manager. When you're winning, it's tough to argue against him. The same BS went on last year around here. Ozzie Guillen was the best manager in the history of baseball, then suddenly the team struggles in late August and September, and that notion takes a complete 360. Regardless of how bad of a manager Ozzie Guillen is, he's kept this under achieving ball club in contention all year. Nobody should jump ship when you're only a game and a half out. Many Red Sox fans which was viewed as humor over here did, and then suddenly Julian Tavarez and Kason Gabbard look like Cy Young and the Red Sox are "back in it," according to most. Step back from the ledge, there's alot of baseball still to be played. Even being a game and a half back a month from now, the White Sox would still have a chance to beat up on the Twins and sneak into the playoffs.
  9. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 05:17 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think he's trying to get Thome/PK familiar with the 4-5 spots they'll be in the rest of the way. Good point. What's the latest on Dye?
  10. I understand the righty, lefty, righty 3-4-5, but why wouldn't Konerko, the superior hitter be batting third?

    uh facebook?

    QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 04:19 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Fixed. For the people that spend hours looking at anybody and everybody's pictures it's real useless, I completely agree. I just got up to IU a few weeks ago, and I've already gotten much needed help in classes because of it, found out names of girls I've begun to hang out with, etc. EDIT: Not that I have trouble meeting people, it's just a plus.

    uh facebook?

    Eh, who cares. It's still a pretty useful website.
  13. QUOTE(daa84 @ Sep 4, 2006 -> 08:19 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> it was gone anywhere...and it was the 4th pitch Thanks.
  14. I know this is going to cause an outrage, that isn't my intention. Was that the first pitch and did it just curl around the foul pole or was it hit out convincingly?
  15. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Sep 4, 2006 -> 08:12 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> How so? The same people asking for the ball are the same people who have been telling him that he sucks all game, and giving him the 'f*** you's'. I'm watching it on Gameday, so I'm going by whats being said here. I can't imagine the five year old kids are the drunken buffoons that are screaming the "f*** You's" at him. I could be wrong though, like I said I don't have it anywhere besides Gameday tonight.
  16. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 4, 2006 -> 08:12 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yep, AJ is the first baseball player to ever fake like he's going to give the ball to the crowd, and then stick it in his glove. Since he did it to a Red Sox fan, I anticipate this becoming a huge deal on ESPN. It was just unnecessary. I don't really care, but he's certainly not bettering his reputation.
  17. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 4, 2006 -> 08:10 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Your concern is duly noted and filed. Why on earth would I be concerned?
  18. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 4, 2006 -> 08:09 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually we thought that was funny. Then again the adults singing a bad song like Sweet Caroline and doing the wave is more what I would call brutal. As if Sweet Home Chicago is any better. That was a classless move, and I love AJ.
  19. Gload moves to left, Mackowiak in center? That is one poor defensive outfield if the White Sox do not score here, it could come back to bite them.
  20. Papelbon's MRI was pushed back until tommorow, so although no word was given, I'd imagine he's unavailable for tonights game. Javier Lopez was recalled though, you better be scurred.
  21. Two terrible managers. What is Tavarez doing in the seventh inning of this game? Is anyone warming?
  22. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 4, 2006 -> 06:56 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks You're Welcome.
  23. The pessimism on this board is worse than on some Red Sox boards. Atleast the White Sox have a chance, although I do admit, since I've been at school, I haven't been able to watch them as much as I would like to.
  24. You have to walk Manny there. This line-up doesn't resemble a Triple A team as it had in days past, but you don't even touch Ramirez when you have Nixon protecting him, something nobody's been able to do all season.
