  1. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 17, 2006 -> 02:50 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Neccessary? Not really. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Oct 17, 2006 -> 02:08 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Congratulations. You've just won the Captain Douchebag award. Necessary? Not at all. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Oct 17, 2006 -> 03:44 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> SHOCKING, another argument that involves you. Shocking, another post where you b**** and moan, is there any other kind? And no, this wasn't an argument. This is me being called a douchebag by a grown man because I happen to think that this coupled with his on field abilities isn't deserving to be pencilled into the short stop position as you had already done a week ago.
  2. I don't think that's the case at all. His on-field performance was the basis of my opinion all along. It spoke for itself.
  3. You should post the whole PM. Never have I had any problems with you, I hope you don't have your panties in a bunch because Tony was dead wrong in that instant. Way to stay classy, big guy. Disgraceful.
  4. Brian Anderson was one of the worst offensive players in all of baseball in one of the most forgiving hitters parks. I value defense just as much as the next, but Pierre would be an upgrade over Anderson as a whole in my opinion, especially considering Ozzie Guillen would rather place Thome or Konerko in center than Anderson it seems.
  5. Did anyone see that John Mark Karr interview today?
  6. I'm not even that big of a Pierre fan, but he's certainly a better player than Brian Anderson is at this point.
  7. So is Juan Uribe still pencilled into the short stop position as everyone yelled at me he was last week?
  8. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 17, 2006 -> 12:01 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Alot of players make that much money, and dont produce as much as ortiz. I suppose what I should have been preaching is that Joe Crede doesn't deserve that amount of money. He very well might get it from some team stupid enough to give it to him ala Seattle w/ Beltre, I just don't want that team to be the White Sox. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Oct 17, 2006 -> 10:42 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I should add that Beltre's season was arguably the best single season ever by a 3rd baseman. He also did it in one of the bigger pitchers parks in the game. What a season that was, if he played like he was in a contract year all the time, he'd be incredible.

  10. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Oct 16, 2006 -> 03:00 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not looking good. We havent got anything either... Why would they give you promotions of games that you probably didn't even purchase tickets for?
  11. Many Red Sox fans are ignorant, as are any in such a large fan base. In my opinion, Crisp's down year can be attributed to his hurt wrist all season. Somehow in Spring Training he came out and looked like a future Hall of Famer and then he gets injured and he struggles. I could definitly see Manny being traded this offseason, and I can see them trading him to the White Sox if it were Buehrle who was involved, nonetheless Crisp won't be easy to get. He's probably the Red Sox most valuable player along with Josh Beckett in terms of youth, effectiveness, and cost. Of course Ortiz isn't on the market. They'll give him another chance unless a can't miss offer comes by.
  12. Macha's job never seemed safe, despite all of the success he had. Very strange situation, ever since he took over for Howe.
  13. Interesting proposal, Jason. If the White Sox are going to make a big splash this offseason, Ramirez's name has to be considered.
  14. I just have a hard time seeing him make at or around what David Ortiz makes, even if Ortiz doesn't play in the field.
  15. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 16, 2006 -> 01:12 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well Jesus Christ couldnt hit a curveball.... He was a dead fastball hitter, you're right.
  16. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Oct 16, 2006 -> 11:40 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Also with the way your viewed on these boards, your argument was really going no where... Haha. Do you ever comment on the topic at hand? I don't think I've seen a post from you lately where it isn't criticizing somebody else. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all.
  17. Pinella is the wrong choice for the Cubs, Girardi is a better fit.
  18. I probably shouldn't have said anything knowing that Joe Crede is viewed at higher than Jesus Christ himself on these boards.
  19. Any player with an on-base percentage struggling to get past .300, regardless of if they slug over .500, isn't as helpful as 10-12 million normally translates to be. Joe Crede shouldn't and won't get 10 million no less 12 ever in my opinion.
  20. Joe Crede doesn't deserve 10 million dollars, regardless of how many years that deal would be worth.
  21. QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 15, 2006 -> 02:40 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Will you stop!! If you know so much more than Ozzie, then why aren't you the manager? Well, with all due respect, him or anyone else on here isn't a manager because we don't have the same oppurtunities and connections than Ozzie Guillen, someone who played the game and has all the connections in the world.
  22. Did anybody just hear that? Cory Lidle's wife and kid/s are on a commerical flight to Los Angeles and still don't know that there husband and father respectively has passed. This report is plastered all over the News, what a terrible way of being informed, not that there is any good way to hear such horrid news.
  23. Lidle wasn't going to return to the Yankees anyways, but at this point that should be as far from your mind as seeing your mother naked.
  24. Schilling will be back, absolutely, postively not one single chance he retires this offseason.
  25. QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 10, 2006 -> 11:29 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What signs point to them NOT being friends...? It's funny to read though. Just like those folks with the voices of every player that's ever played for the Sox hating Frank in their heads. He could very well be just a terrible captain, but not defending him, not righting the ship that was Alex Rodriguez, etc. all point to me thinking they weren't best of friends. Perhaps "hate" was the wrong word, used because that Caple article used it, if im not mistaken.. Hell, it was 4 in the morning..
