QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Nov 10, 2006 -> 04:17 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No worse than the Kearns deal that Krivsky made around the trade deadline... Given the Reds need for pitching, this deal easily takes the cake in my opinion.

This is the worst deal I've seen made in a long time.

USA TODAY BASEBALL WEEKLY TRADE SUGGESTION
redandwhite replied to winninguglyin83's topic in Pale Hose Talk
That is one of the worst articles I've ever seen. Not one of those trades makes sense or would ever happen. -
First major trade of the offseason.. ah.. it feels good.
-
What's amazing to me about Riske is that in the past he had always been utilized as someone who was tough for lefties to get ahold of. Lefties were significantly better than righties were against him last season, probably one of the reasons Theo didn't mind trading him, even if it was viewed as a fleecing at the time.

It does remind of strep, as some of the symptoms went away, I figured and hoped that it was strep rather than mono. How does Strep spread? It's not like I'm breathing or sucking on somebody. For the most part I've been in my bed.. I hope I haven't spread it to anybody. As for going to the doctor, I'm going to wait one more day. It says that if the sore throat lasts for two days, then I should go to the doctor. If it's still super sore tommorow, that will be the first thing on my agenda. As for tonight, OTC medicine and rest.. the Bulls game as well.. Thanks guys!

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 7, 2006 -> 05:15 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If you don't see any improvement in a day I'd think pretty hard about going. I'm assuming you still feel drowsy and all that stuff? Not as drowsy as I did yesterday. Now it's almost solely the sore throat, although it's the kind of sore throat where it's tough to swallow, I'm spitting up green flem, and when I cough my head starts to ache. I'll probably go tommorow, just to make sure. I was born to watch IU beat Michigan on saturday.. I have to be healthy for saturday.. ha

Does anyone know if because my fever, headache, and overall soreness is gone, that it might be just a bad sore throat or something? That's really the only symptom I'm having, although it's bad enough to the point where It's tough to swallow or eat anything outside of apple sauce and water.
-
I woke up a few times last night with some serious hot sweats, finally cooled off after taking a fever reducer. Headache also went away. I'm just waking up now, and I do feel better all around, but my throat is still as sore as it was, if not worse. As soon as I can get a ride, I'll be at the doctor. Thanks guys.
-
Well I'm more nervous because this girl made me such. Had I not been told anything, I'd have gone about my business. I don't feel fatigued, but I'm told that could be coming.. I'll have to get it checked if it gets worse. Lets hope not. Thanks guys.
-
Thanks, my friend. I never planned on going, hell I haven't been sick since like third grade, always take great care of my body, eat right, supplement right, etc. I'm rather nervous.
-
So I went rather hard on saturday night and woke up in an awkward position with a female by my side, consequently my neck was mighty sore. This morning I woke up with a common cold, throat a little sore, a little stuffed up, etc. This girl friend of mine is convinced I have mono and it's freaking me out. Has anyone ever had it? Anyone know of anyways to figure out if you have it or not without going to the doctor as I don't have a car or a clue as to where the Health Center is on Campus here at IU... Anyone.. Bueller..

Alex Cora and the Red Sox agree to two year contract extension.

QUOTE(fathom @ Nov 5, 2006 -> 11:42 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If the Rangers would take Garcia for Young, I'm 100 pct confident that KW would drive Garcia down to Arlington. As well as dumping an unneeded salary, I agree.
-
Another former Dback farm hand signed? Nice solid pick-up it seems. Nothing wrong with inviting him to Spring Training..
-
Different people react in different ways. Having a smile on your face after botching a ball shouldn't be the reason some team lets you go. That's all I'm saying.
-
This isn't the NBA. Knee jerk, gut instinct reactions happen. There were times when I played competitively that I'd smile while shaking my head or something of that sort knowing that I should've, could've, and would've made that play and not botched it. If Ozzie was mad about that, that's ridiculous.
-
Couldn't it just be that the White Sox won a World Series? The White Sox post World Series Championship is a completely different organization than it was pre Championship.
-
Michael Young is one of the best hitters in the league. As bad as the Rangers and any team for that matter need top quality pitching, they won't trade such a vocal point of the team for Freddy Garcia and the worthless Juan Uribe. You know my stance on Uribe, he's a negative to this deal from Texas' perspective.
-
I find it extremely hard to believe Anderson was problematic in the clubhouse, after all the interviews he seemed just like any young kid I know. Very exuberant, very excited, loving life. Odds are, this "vibe" coming from the Sox Organization is the fact that he was absolutely terrible last season and theres a serious question of whether he should stay or go. Everybody talks about how important McCarthy is because of his salary, why isn't Anderson important? Trade Uribe, upgrade at short and leave center field alone and you save money there.. No?
-
He's still eligible for arbitration, he'll be back in Philly, it's just a matter of it being a smart or stupid move for Philly depending on if he makes more or less what the option was for.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 2, 2006 -> 01:22 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I see lots of money talk, so I am curious exactly where people are thinking the Sox 2007 payroll is going to settle out? Well if you opt to trade one of the starters, replace them with four-a fodder, I'd imagine the White Sox payroll would be at or around what it was last season.

QUOTE(RME JICO @ Nov 2, 2006 -> 11:24 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If we can work the Crawford deal without giving up B-Mac I would do it, but if B-Mac is in the deal, I say no as well. ZoomSlowik covers it pretty well. Well then there should be no more discussion because without B-Mac, the White Sox have nothing to offer.
-
QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Nov 2, 2006 -> 01:29 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'd rather trade one of the starters and flip the prospects to Tampa personally, depending on who we get of course. I can't think of too many other young pitchers that I would rather have as our 5th starter next year in that situation, and we couldn't get most of them. If we could deal Garcia and get someone like Danks, Pelfrey, or Humber I'd love to see us work out something with those guys and Sweeney. However, I don't know how feasible that really is. I wouldn't be quite as comfortable with our pitching if we dealt B-Mac and kept a pitching prospect of that ilk either. If teams could just flip there prospects to get Crawford they would do that rather than pick up Freddy Garcia.

Official 2006-2007 NBA Discussion Thread
redandwhite replied to AssHatSoxFan's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Thomas played just as I had thought he would, very raw, but may be able to put it all together and be one hell of a player down the road. At the moment he's just too skinny to be a factor it seems, he was getting tossed like a rag doll, and his broken nose is the first of many injuries it seems will occur this season.
