I was on GUTS, actually won a piece of the agrocrag. What a week that was, Red Sox spring training and piece of the infamous rock, not to mention meeting Mo. Incredible.

I've never seen a whole bunch of people get excited over a career journeyman with a lifetime .247 batting average. Sure he hits left-handed pitching well, but is he really worth a spot over Pablo, Podsednik, etc. as is being said? I'll have to come back from class and read this thread because right now, even with the whole Thome can't hit lefties thing, am not as hyped as everybody else.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 13, 2007 -> 08:04 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> BTW, Zaga had their 50 game home winning streak snapped last night against Santa Clara. And they looked awful in the process -
I really don't give two s***s about what the majority of the people on this website think about the Red Sox, SoxFan101. I'll just laugh or chime in to discuss with some of the people whose opinions I respect.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 12, 2007 -> 11:35 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well about a month ago I put together a list of thirdbasemen who you could argue are equal to or better than Crede, I came up with about 16 names so middle of the pack sounds about right to me. Oddly enough if Joe Crede played for the Phillies he'd be the worst 3B in their division. People have wanted me castrated for saying that in the past, so the sanity in your thought process is appreciated.
-
Edit: Not going to argue with people who hate the Red Sox
-
Good move. I mean, how many Super Bowls have the Browns and Chiefs won since he got fired from them? /green
-
A lot of non-White Sox fans find Crede's lack of of an eye and 'all or nothing' mentality to be what would be called overrated from the general thought process over here. It's interesting to hear various websites talk about Crede. Over here you'd think he was the greatest thing since sliced bread, on another fan site of a different team he's a middle of the pack offensive third basemen.

Wow, a lot of you really dislike the Red Hot Chili Peppers? I'm a huge fan. Always have been.

Well take the advice of us all and soon you can drop that "fat guy" label and be the healthiest you can be. Good luck.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Feb 12, 2007 -> 05:18 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hester didnt really get the ball much all game. Exactly my point. After the opening kick off, the Colts gameplan was to avoid him like the plague. Yes, the Bears fumbled once, but all the other kick offs gave them field position at or around the 40 yard line which really put pressure on the Colts defense. -

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Feb 12, 2007 -> 05:07 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The O had most to do with the loss, end of story. Especially considering the field position that was given to them on every play due to Hester being such a threat on kickoffs. -

Whether they deserve the number two ranking or not is irrelevant. I'd be damn happy to have either Boston College or Indiana given the respect they deserve, afterall, it can only help where they're placed for the tournament. -
Another oft-injured pitcher, Kris Benson is out for the year. Tough break for the O's.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Feb 12, 2007 -> 02:49 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> In Oakland, after Crede was playing SS and got ejected we ended up going with Dye at SS and Widger at 3rd IIRC. Correct.

Dick Vitale in Chestnut Hill for both Wednesday and Saturday. Ugh. Still... Huge week for Boston College. -
It was hard to sleep while you were gone.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Feb 12, 2007 -> 02:38 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Didn't Widger play 3rd, too? I think he meant as a DH, though. I can't really see him getting into a game at 1B. I think Widger did play third in that game. Wow. Ha. True, he could DH from time to time.

QUOTE(soxfan3530 @ Feb 12, 2007 -> 02:30 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i like the signing as well. Hall is a gamer and can provide depth for us at a couple of postions. He's played a total of six innings outside of catcher in his career. He won't provide depth unless the White Sox get into another one of those games where like last year in Oakland where Jermaine Dye was the short stop.

They show a video of Steve Irwin
-
Toby Hall was a fabulous pick-up. He'll receive between 300-400 at bats this season, you watch.
-
You obviously make the deal Kenny made every day of the week, but it might be some nice insurance to have Gload trotting out to left field.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 12, 2007 -> 02:09 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I am in the middle on this. Downey has been a pathetic, cheerleading, pom pom waving and skirt wearing Bears homer all year....but at the same time, they DID make the Super Bowl. The problem is, the Bears would have been the 5th best team in the AFC, so really they were the 5th best team in football, but just so happened to be in a different conference than the 4 better ones. Interesting debate though. That was the only part of my post that I was serious about. Had the Bears been in the AFC, I don't think they make the Super Bowl, the AFC Championship, and likely would have been a Wild Card team. Of course they destroyed the Jets, who beat the Patriots, who beat blah blah blah.. Definitly an interesting debate though. BTW - Woman belong in the kitchen. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Feb 12, 2007 -> 02:15 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i still think the Raiders of a few years back was one of the worst teams of all time. They were awful too, good point. I just liked Big Bad Bill Romanowski. -
I saw the Killers in concert and had mixed feelings about their performance. First off, if I was a blind man, I could have been just as satisfied listening to the CD. It was that identical. I like what the Police did last night.
