  1. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 09:30 PM) If the Sox hang on....Buehrle or Count? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Contreras.
  2. They were chanting "Buddy," for there pitching coach, I think.
  3. Two people on my block just set off fireworks. Don't jump the gun just yet.
  4. that was quick. keep him out there for the ninth.
  5. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 09:14 PM) Contreras against Cabrera, Cotts for Anderson, Jenks for Guerrero? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This is Contreras' game to lose.
  6. Contreras against Cabrera, Cotts for Anderson, Jenks for Guerrero?
  7. QUOTE(Linnwood @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 09:06 PM) GIVING ME A FREAKIN' HEAT ATTACK <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yea, that heat is brutal.
  8. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 09:05 PM) AJ - "Yes! f***in right!" <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Is he mic'ed up tonight? that "f***" was heard loud and clear.
  9. base hit by Crede, Rowand scores, lead taken. Incredible.
  10. I don't want to see Vlad in a similar situation late in the game. We'll hear from him before this series is over.
  11. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 07:01 PM) I think Avant is a really good receiver but I doubt he'd be a first round pick. 2nd round at best and I'd guess an early 3rd pick as of now. Hopefully he can come on fire, get the ball more and raise his stock. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ill never forget the catch he had at Northwestern two years ago as a sophomore. It's the best catch i've ever seen in person in my life.
  12. Kennedy single, 1-1. No big deal, relax Contreras, just relax. He's an emotional guy, AJ's got to get this point across before facing Anderson and Guerrero.
  13. Thats unfortunate there. contact might score him here.
  14. Fox's second team is the best announcing duo in baseball.
  15. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 05:59 PM) Tango Tiger conducted, for the second year in a row, a "Defensive Scouting Report: By the Fans". I'm sure me or Cheat or 3E8 posted it somewhere here, but I don't feel like finding the thread about it. Anyways, 114 people gave their thoughts about Manny Ramirez, which can be seen here. This is how they voted (a score of 50 is average, BTW, and obviously, they took the average of the 114 people who voted): Overall -- 32 Instincts -- 17 First Step -- 22 Speed -- 28 Hands -- 23 Release (throwing) -- 47 Strength -- 55 Accuracy -- 67 So, you're right, redandwhite, he does have a decent arm, but w/r/t range and getting to the ball, it looks like he's well below average -- or, at least, according to 114 people. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Great post, I actually started the tangotiger thread on soxtalk, here. I never said that he was going to win awards or anything like that, I just happen to think he is a very underrated defensive player. Thanks for sharing that, I should have done that myself. Edit: link
  16. QUOTE(YASNY @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 05:45 PM) Let me guess. The best manager in the AL is Terry Francona. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No. Terry Francona is not the best manager in the American League. Keep it coming... :rolly
  17. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 05:53 PM) Thank you. No White Sox fan likes the Red Sox. OWNEDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I really don't care if you don't like the Red Sox, you've made that clear several times. Do you think that bothers me? Offer something half decent for a change and if you're going to act like a two year old with the "OWNEDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD" thing, then atleast "own" me.
  18. QUOTE(YASNY @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 05:46 PM) I'm of the belief that it's ludicrous to discuss baseball with you on anything involving the Red Sox. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Where did I go wrong? I don't think Manny Ramirez is as bad defensively as people here think he is? or is it because Alex Rodriguez is not my MVP, and David Ortiz is. Explain.
  19. QUOTE(Felix @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 05:47 PM) Thanks for proving nothing. You've just said that the defensive stats arent right about Crede or A-Rod, but have yet to say something positive about Manny in the field. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I've watched him man left field for the last five years. It's amazing how misleading 45 second highlites on sportscenter can be.
  20. QUOTE(Felix @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 05:44 PM) Watching him lazily walk to fly balls over his head and lazily throw them back into the infield. Watching him drop routine plays in the outfield. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks for playing.
  21. QUOTE(YASNY @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 05:43 PM) Will you guys stop arguing with him? He never backs down from his ridiculous statements about the Red Sox. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Come on, pal. What ridiculous statements did i make here? or are you also of the belief that Carl Everett is the better everyday outfielder than Manny Ramirez? :headshake
  22. QUOTE(Felix @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 05:30 PM) If you can give me any proof that he's not horrible, then yea, I agree with you. But until then, he's horrible. And your second paragraph can be said for just about anyone. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Give me proof that he's horrible. If you take the Zone Rating and Range Factor stance, then I'd really like to hear your opinion of Alex Rodriguez' defensive abilities. I guess you could give me the "he missed a pop-up that one time" but I seem to remember a game that Manny Ramirez hit a game winning home run after a Joe Crede botched ball in foul territory. Is Joe Crede a horrible defensive player too? So whats your proof, Felix?
  23. I don't think he's the best manager in the American League, infact I think his in-game style is one of the worst in the American League, however what he has done in full this year, is impossible to ignore. Ozzie Guillen, your 2005 American League Manager of the Year.
