  1. Anyone have experience with the steroid Dianabol? Theres a personal trainer at xsport that tells me he has a supplier. I'd like to get a Clay Matthews body the way that Clay Matthews did it.
  2. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Oct 3, 2012 -> 12:45 AM) I'm heavily on the fence for buying an NBA game three years running. I mean, I still enjoy firing up 2k12 because of the insane plethora of legends. I doubt they're in this one because no Legend Showcase. I dont really mess with the legends, but at a quick glance i saw a lot of classic teams, not sure if there is as many or more than last years 2k. But the dream team is on there and so is the new USA mens olympic team, cant wait to poop on scottie pippen with prime lebron.
  3. QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 2, 2012 -> 11:34 PM) So I played 2K13 today. 2 games. Don't play it on simulation, they totally screwed up those sliders this year. Your guys get tired after 4 minutes (ridiculous). It's hard to improve over 2K12, but they did. The game is just so crisp. Rondo will do his fancy passes (no extra button pressing needed), Rose drives hard to the lane and does some crazy ass moves to finish, and your defenders close out on shooters without you having to jump (they put their hands up when you get close to the shooter). The animations are improved. Sure, there are those moments where you're just like "WTF?", but this is a good improvement over 2K12. I'm not a huge fan of the new right stick control scheme. I really enjoyed shooting with just the stick alone. I guess I'll have to get used to this. I used the X button to shoot in my first few games. yeah, took me a couple games to get used to the new controls but man its so fun. i did the training camp mode to learn all the nuances and its really incredible all the moves you actually have at your disposal once youre familiar with how everything works. Oh and I think its cute that theres a flop button.
  4. note to self, never do one of those pre-order deals on the Playstation Store ever again.. I pre-ordered NBA 2k13 (digital copy, obvi) for 53 bucks with playstation plus and had to wait till 1 oclock for it to actually be up on the store, when i could have just went to gamestop at midnight last night in my Vince Carter Raptors jersey and biker shorts. Then i had to wait about 5 days for the 10 gb file to finish downloading, oh hey! its finally done downloading! just in time for me to leave for class :bang
  5. my hope is that we sign francona and move ventura to 3rd base
  6. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Oct 2, 2012 -> 11:08 AM) Outside of Chris Sale, what makes you feel good about this team's near future? The Bratwurst and decent beer selection at the park.
  7. anyone try those new iphone 5 earbuds yet? do they make any kind of difference?
  8. Can we just fast forward the regular season and go straight to the Heat vs Lakers finals for the next couple years?
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 02:53 AM) Do the quiet non posters recognize Greg's posting style? Do they they think I'm an idiot or a brilliant baseball mind? I think youre not only the best baseball mind on this site, but also a gentleman and a scholar.
  10. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 1, 2012 -> 09:58 AM) I am 1-3 in fantasy. 3 teams have had their highest point total against me as I am still the highest scoring team in the league and it doesnt matter. f*** thats exactly the spot that im in, freakin blows man. If i miss out on the playoffs and a chance to win $5k and an authentic hulk hogan championship belt, i will be PISSED!
  11. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 1, 2012 -> 09:15 AM) At least I listened to myself when I posted on Flapship that people should be stealing Alfred Morris in the final rounds of their drafts. This was well before the season started, btw. http://flapship.com/guy-you-should-be-draf...-alfred-morris/ Alfred Morris has been awesome, what a free agent pickup for me. I might get his jersey if he does well and i actually end up winning a game
  12. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Oct 1, 2012 -> 09:45 AM) Uh, no...they didn't say that about HDTV's, and way to ignore my entire post which went pretty in depth as to why 4k/8k is years out. I never said "never" either, and furthermore, I never said 1080p is as advanced as it gets. Maybe you should try reading next time before clicking reply. Relax dad, no need to get upset over technology, its a good thing
  13. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Oct 1, 2012 -> 08:01 AM) This is mostly hype/overkill tech, especially for the home user, reserved for the richest videophiles that swear they can tell the difference while being unable to point out a single difference when you ask them too. This is what was said about HDTV's a long time ago in a galaxy far far away. Alright guys i guess 1080p is as advanced as it gets forever and ever, carry on.
  14. FML this is 3 out of 4 weeks that I play the team with the highest point total in the league, how annoying is that? My team is actually doing good but I cant do anything about going against a team that already has 114 points.
  15. In regards TVs, unless you REALLY need to invest in one right this instant, I would wait until the new 4k/8k television technology becomes less pricey. Those sets absolutely poop on anything that is out right now. http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-33199_7-57364...tion-explained/
  16. So i did a mini personal protest against EA Sports for the garbage I've been buying from them this year and i picked up Pro Evolution Soccer instead of Fifa and man, I love it!! If youre an actual fan of the game of futbol, you will love it too. It doesnt have the bells and whistles and fancy graphics and menus that Fifa does, but the game itself feels like real soccer. I cant even explain it, the game just "feels" right and it isnt a through-ball, pace-fest like fifa is. A lot of times you have to slow down and let the play build up and try attacking from different ways. Another thing I love is the option files you can download online, PES doesnt have licensing for most of the leagues but thanks to the power of virgin soccer fans everywhere, there are people that make emblems and uniforms for every single team and do an amazing job to boot.
  17. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Sep 28, 2012 -> 05:43 PM) If I wanted to live in a incredibly dangerous war torn hellhole I'd enlist in the army and get paid. I'd even have a better chance of surviving Afghanistan than Englewood. Youre right about that. Only because if you roll with the army you'll have sharpshooting hillbillies by your side and some serious firepower.
  18. QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 28, 2012 -> 02:26 PM) I find the framing of this as just people who work hard and those who don't to just be odd and misplaced. its not "just" that, but if youre in a bad neighborhood and going to go around saying that killing is the only option you have then yes, youre absolutely wrong. Id actually say that taking someones life is harder than getting a 21 on your ACT
  19. So i was trying to buy low on Chris Johnson right, I offered Ahmad Bradshaw AND Willis McGahee see, and he trades Chris Johnson for Michael Bush instead.
  20. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 28, 2012 -> 12:26 PM) The problem is the kids are up against it because they have zero guidance, zero role models, and subsequently zero opportunities. A little family structure goes a long way for these kids, but instead the only family they see that takes "care" of each other is the local gangs. If you took a look at the difference in parent involvement in education between some of those CPS schools and a school in a nice neighborhood its ridiculous. Some of those parents send their kids to school for babysitting. and thats another thing. in my Educational Foundations classes, the professors urge us to not blame the parents when we become teachers. So if im busting my ass in the classroom doing what I can for the kids, and then the kid goes home to a mom that doesnt care if their kid is gangbanging or hanging out with miscreants, its America's fault for oppressing the minorities for the past hundreds of years, not the parents. This is really what the professor teaches too...
  21. QUOTE (Reddy @ Sep 28, 2012 -> 12:33 PM) mouth cancer instead of lung cancer? have you seen what dip does to guys? it's really f***ed up. But id still be able to run marathons
  22. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Sep 28, 2012 -> 12:20 PM) You can get out of those neighborhoods if you want to. Difficult, sure. But possible. Yep, what kills me is that my college professors all make it seem like minorities living in bad neighborhoods have an impossible wall keeping them from any type of success, which is flat out untrue and when i tell them my about family's success stories they look at me as if I believe that the world is flat.
  23. I agree that Chicago is a hugely segregated city, but a lot of it is by choice, at least from my experience. When my grandparents came here from mexico and el salvador, they wanted to be in a neighborhood that is populated by their own countrymen so as to still have a way to feel at home. The supermarkets are all spanish speaking, serve meats and ingredients for salvadoran dishes. Family members like the ones i mentioned earlier that run their own businesses did the same, but then once they started to make very good money, assimilated in the higher end neighborhoods, the roscoe villages, the river norths, etc. only for the reason that their kids can go to good schools and be surrounded by kids that also have wealthy parents and are more likely to actually do something with their lives. Also, those wealthy family members spent their childhoods running away from drug cartels and violence in their countries too, so much so that they can tell me to this day about who is it on the news that got murdered by the cartel and why they were killed based on the manner of which their bodies are disposed.
  24. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Sep 28, 2012 -> 11:27 AM) Do they pay taxes on their business? I ask because I know somebody that refuses to believe that "7 year tax break" rumor is a complete myth. Im not quite sure, I will ask them later today and get back to you.
