  1. Okay so im in the market for a new router and im really too lazy to read a million different reviews and study the history of the varangians in Russia at the same time. I know theres guys in this thread that are a walking cnet.com so can anyone tell me with a budget of $200, what is the best router I can get? The interwebs at home is mostly used for gaming on xbox, streaming, acquiring movies, etc. I have a 20mb line from comcast.
  2. If Rose learned the art of flopping from Chris Paul he would probably average 20 a game just on free throws! And he might still have an ACL.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 11, 2012 -> 10:50 AM) It's hard to say you wouldn't root for the Bulls if they had certain players on the team after most of us grew up rooting for them when they had Dennis Rodman on them. yeah, like i always hated AJ, then when he came to the sox I loved him while most MLB fans everywhere still hated him. From my experience of living in Chicago it seems to me that a lot of fans of the bulls are more concerned with keeping MJ on a pedestal than getting a player that could possibly threaten his achievements. I get it, i grew up watching him dominate the heat but man that was like 20 years ago. Our generation is the new version of Chicagoans that just couldnt let go of the 85 bears and will always compare Walter Payton to any other "soft" running back that comes to play for Chicago, or a certain Middle Linebacker that doesn't play with the ferocity of Singletarry. Im thankful lebron went to my hometown heat, but holy crap if he came to Chicago with derrick rose thats nba championships easily and it would have been huge for the city of Chicago and the image of the Bulls franchise would be ridiculously huge. I dont get how people can say they didnt want Lebron on the bulls, i really dont. Well have fun with Luol Deng i guess? Edit: Oh and another thing ive hated since ive lived here. When people say that a player "embodies" the way a Chicago Bull/Bear/White Sox/Blackhawks/Sky player should play. Like seriously? People here are so prideful in hardnosed blue collar Chicago players that theyre willing to snub guys with bad personalities that are actually good at the sport they play in, and that give them the best chance to win a championship?
  4. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Oct 10, 2012 -> 10:41 PM) I like to cheer for certain types of players, after Rose and Lu retire I'll find others to cheer for. I already like Kyrie Irving, I'd have no problem following Cavs games. I could never cheer for Lebron or Wade, even if they wore a Bulls jersey. I don't like how they play the game and I don't like how they carry themselves. Bosh is okay though. if i was sleeping with them then yeah id feel the same way. Theyre too good at basketball for me to care about those things.
  5. Ive played the EA sports soccer franchise religiously since '98 but switched to the competition this year because of the need for something new and the fact that I'm starting to hate EA Sports. Fifa was always fun in an arcadey way, last years version seemed like the ball glued to the players feet as soon as they received the pass no matter who the player was, from Ronaldo to Gary Twigg. Also the dribbling at full sprint, the player always had full control of the ball no matter who it was. In Pro evolution, after a period of getting used to it all, i find it way more impressive in terms of strictly gameplay, fifa wins in presentation and graphics hands down. When a player receives a pass, you press the right trigger or R2 to dead the ball proper, and even then its not a guarantee that the player will do so and might let the ball go behind him or kick the ball towards the opposition. The very first game i played i passed a perfect through ball to Torres from Hazard and on the breakaway Torres was going full sprint and on his 3rd touch, he mistouched and the ball went behind him. Frustrating yes, but damn it looked so real. Also, teams in PES play like their real life counterparts, teams like Barca do the tiki taka and torch you on offense, and when you play stoke city you deal with what seems like a million midfielders on defense and the use of long throw-ins to try to beat you. I love PES and next year the game is getting the Fox Engine so hold on to your tits for that one. All of this being said, I have fond memories of the ea sports soccer franchise and dont deny that its a good game, I just thought id give an opinion to those who havent tried the game because I honestly would have never even thought to buy PES either but i bought it on a whim and now i love it.
  6. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Oct 10, 2012 -> 01:06 PM) ELIAS is changing Mendenhall's 13 yard TD run to a 13 yd TD catch. And with that, Big Ben gets a passing TD added to his stats. I have now lost one of my games from last week b/c the guy I played had Roethlisberger.
  7. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 10, 2012 -> 12:33 PM) I find it irresponsible that the NFL would let the skins play RGIII 7 days after a concussion too much pressure from fantasy owners
  8. If i went by the ESPN projections i would be scoring 130+ a game, i feel like the ozzie guillen of fantasy football managers.
  9. So, iphone 5, cool phone, love it. Sprint 4G LTE network isnt up in Chicago 100% though so I'm surfing at 3G speeds. This is very frustrating, its like buying a ferrari and being restricted to driving only on city streets.
  10. Id like to share my musical favorites with you guys, but I'd risk the bands losing their underground status. #hipsterproblems
  11. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 9, 2012 -> 02:35 PM) When my iPhone 5 comes, is there an easy way to wipe my 4 clean of my stuff and give it to my mom? Y2HH probably knows a better way, but what I do is do a restore through itunes back to factory settings. I did receive an email from sprint saying that the order has shipped and the email contained the UPS tracking number. Im fiddling with the iphone 5 now and its really amazing, the freaking headphone jack is on the BOTTOM!
  12. My iphone 5 comes in today, ordered it on October 1st and getting it on the 9th (sprint), so much for the up to 3 weeks shipping they tried to scare me with! I dont think ive ever been so excited to see a UPS man in his short shorts.
  13. Brutal... Im up 106 to 105.. Rivers gets sacked and fumbles at the end of the game, i lose 105 to 104..
  14. ok so i need Drew Brees and Sproles to break their legs on the same play and I need Rivers to throw 4 TDs
  15. So cleveland hires Francona, and we have our best third baseman playing manager. Oy vey!!
  16. Lady Gaga's new NYC restaurant "worst thing since herpes." http://1019litefm.cbslocal.com/2012/09/28/...ding-to-review/
  17. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Oct 4, 2012 -> 11:17 PM) When you get it tell us what you think. I went with the SGIII. The Iphone just didnt make a lot of sense for me, I dont have any apple products and I dont plan on buying any apple products. I had the Galaxy S2 and i loved it and android with all its customization options. Im a huge dork and i love games on my phones and the android app store doesnt do it for me. I imagine its harder to create gaming apps on a platform like android when theres about a billion phones with different specs, as opposed to the iphone where there is one set of specs for developers to work with. All the gimmicky stuff like sharing files through touching phones doesnt do anything for me, I will say this though, i used my S2 maps app almost every day, even drove down to florida, new york, and alabama using it, and im a little scared to hear that the iphone 5 maps will have you drive into the Atlantic ocean if you search for directions to schaumburg illinois.
  18. QUOTE (G&T @ Oct 4, 2012 -> 05:01 PM) I think significantly better but I don't know that I'd pay for them. im still waiting on my iphone 5 to ship (damn you sprint) and its weird that the thing im excited most about is the headphones. I've just always loved the iphone headphones for going to the gym or running miles outside on the pavement.
  19. QUOTE (Reddy @ Oct 3, 2012 -> 09:20 PM) dude don't kill yourself like that. it's not worth it. unless you want to have a dick that doesn't work and die when you're 50 I thought it only shrank your balls?
  20. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Oct 4, 2012 -> 09:52 AM) Obama said he'd create 50 billion trillion new jobs, too... lol, then he cut down the military numbers and left me and tens of thousands of other veterans displaced and without time to get anything together. Thanks a lot! Relying on the VA has been such a smooth ride lately. /green
  21. maybe hes tired of telling Iran to stop building nukes and telling Israel to not pre-emptively strike Iran and dealing with the United Nations and he wants to just go back to chillaxing and filling out march madness brackets.
  22. So how is attendance going to look next year? Isnt Sir Rahm closing down the Dan Ryan part of the red line for the entire baseball season next year? Thats usually how I transported myself to sox games, screw paying 25 bucks to park in the lot...
  23. maybe we should let hawk have his own show like vin scully. that way he doesnt butt heads with another personality and we can get history lessons about how Scooter McGruff was the best damn curveball hitter he's ever seen back when you only needed a liter of petrol to fill up the gas tank of your Model T.
  24. Time to bring back DJ... uuuhhhh ohhhh!!!! Bye Bye!!!!!
