  3. Jose Valentin, DUH! Easily 30 HRs a year, Best stache in the Bigs, and a big help to the puerto rican community in Chicago
  4. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Feb 19, 2010 -> 12:28 AM) UGH... you have great taste in food, then you go ahead and make this post... I hate seafood. mmmm nothin like some raw fishies to get your day goin
  5. QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Feb 19, 2010 -> 02:58 AM) lol, where exactly is this Kuma's place located at, again? I'm gonna have to get me some take-out sometime soon. its right by the burger king on elston and belmont, going west on belmont.
  6. Macku sushi on clybourn, simply SPECTACULAR!!! easily the top sushi place ive been to in Chicago, and ive been to toro, sushi samba, japonaise etc... my gosh, i can really die happy now :headbang
  7. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 18, 2010 -> 02:25 PM) You can order it to go???? Awesome, this will have to happen real soon... yep! thats the best course of action really. One of the most heart attack inducing burgers on the menu is the Goblin Cock which is essentially a Chicago style hotdog on top of a 10 oz patty, with neon green relish and all, yummm.. Also their beer selection is top notch, and they are the only place i know that has Jack Daniels, ON TAP!! :headbang :headbang
  8. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 18, 2010 -> 09:16 AM) I really need to finally check out Kuma's, I've lived close to there for years. Is there a time of day that the wait isn't as long? Don't really wanna wait for an hour and a half if I can help it. Hmm honestly the best time to go when there will be no wait is probably when it first opens at 11:30am.. or when its close to shutting down at 2am.. But i highly suggest if you live close enough, call them and order it to go and it will be ready in 30 minutes. I dont even bother waiting on tables anymore unless im with a kumas corner newbie
  9. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Feb 12, 2010 -> 06:26 PM) Best overall: Kumas Corner ^^^^YEAH THAT^^^^^^ I understand the person starting the topic is from Orland which is probably why no one has mentioned this place to him since its on the northside. But if you want a seriously life changing ill-never-eat-a-burger-at-any-other-place-again type burger. Kumas Corner dishes out the absolute best burgers i have ever had in this city. If your stomach can wait and hour and a half on average for a table, it will be well worth it.. Just dont plan on going on a weekend where lady gaga is in town because this is apparently her favorite burger joint and always visits kumas in the morning on the day of a concert.
  10. The auto show was a fun time for sure. I enjoyed the Army portion of the show, it was cool to see the new high tech vehicles that are being used over there now, i sure wish I would of had those babies when I was in Iraq ugh.. My favorite car of the show was that Jeep Wrangler concept lookin thing with the humongo wheels. Id love to take that thing through some deep snow
  11. My gosh i feel so slow. I ate at this place called Fat Willys Rib Shack which happens to be a block away from my house in avondale (western & elston), and it has quite possibly the best BBQ ive ever had in chicago! I cant believe i never thought to enter this establishment during my time of living in this neighborhood! I like it a little bit more than Smoque, and thats saying something! A must have for any BBQ lover.

QUOTE (dasox24 @ Feb 3, 2010 -> 11:29 PM) I have one that I keep in my backpack, so I guess I do always tend to have one when I'm on campus. Otherwise, I wouldn't think of carrying one on me unless I knew I'd need it. my thumbdrive is always on my keychain, just a habit from the military and having to transfer stuff from laptop to laptop, back in the good ol days when USB devices were allowed on government computers
  13. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Feb 3, 2010 -> 03:55 PM) good to see a couple people reply make sure you tell me youre from soxtalk and ill hook it up, whether it be a lil more fries, a lil more beef on the sandwhich, a lil more cheese and toppings on a pizza or maybe ill hook it up with a free drink to my fellow sox fan......also while were on the subject of drinking, there is a liqour store attached my building so grab yourself some grub and a fruit punch or a coke at my place then go next door and get somethin mix in your drink . sounds like my kind of place
  14. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Feb 3, 2010 -> 03:31 PM) I'm down. I go to the eastside every other weekend or so and hegewisch sometimes to drink at the green olive. Hammond is no problem. lolz green olive
  15. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Feb 3, 2010 -> 03:13 PM) 175th and Columbia. It may be a drive from Hegewisch depending on what way you're coming from but trust me its gonna be worth it. I dont know if youre familiar with Gavit High School but its right down the street from there and if youre not aware of where that is its about a mile and a half away from Purdue Calumet. The pizza is gonna be great, the italian beef is gonna be the best youve ever had, im also toyin around with a seasoned grilled chicken sandwich with a tasty sauce that should be really good. a little bit of a drive from 130th to 175th but nothing that im not used to. let me know when you open this place up
  16. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Feb 3, 2010 -> 02:56 PM) I'm gonna be opening a little pizza shop in hammond. The location im gonna be at has had many businesses fail in the 22 years ive been in hammond so im hoping this time its different. Its gonna be home to some of the best italian beef sandwiches you'll ever taste. I'm also toyin around with a bunch of other recipes to make this place last. If we got anyone in the Hammond area thats interested in more info ill gladly throw it out there. Im in hegewisch almost every weekend so ill stop by some time, im always up for some new joints to eat at. what streets is this place going to be on?
  17. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 29, 2010 -> 02:24 AM) The other day I told my friends we were gonna drive up to Chicago one of these days and I'd bring them there. Also, is it just me, or does the Manny's in Midway kinda suck? It needs Gino-plate-flipping. hmm, i was unaware of another Mannys being in existence! lol
  18. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Jan 28, 2010 -> 10:10 PM) I miss Chicago food so much right now. it would be hard being the biggest loser if you lived in a city of delicious goodness everywhere you turn
  19. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Jan 28, 2010 -> 09:58 PM) White Palace Grill on Canal and Roosevelt Amazing Diner. Ingredients always made from scratch, never out of the freezer, quite possibly the highest quality 24 hour diner i have ever been to.
  20. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 28, 2010 -> 09:35 PM) What about places for when you're drunk? I am jonesing for a slinger right now from the Diner Grill on Irving Park... My pick would be lucky's sandwhich co. over on clark street by Wrigley. that place makes some bad ass food!
  21. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jan 28, 2010 -> 07:57 PM) Kumas Corner for Burgers. Heck, even Lady Gaga eats there while in town. Hot Doug's for Dogs. Just like 4 blocks away from Kumas actually. Just like Kumas, always packed for good reason. Al's Beef for well, beef. Greatness I say. ^Yeah That, ALL of that^ :headbang
  22. QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 28, 2010 -> 07:48 PM) Awesome. My friend is a marine reserve getting back from Iraq in March, same month I get back. I can't wait to see him. make sure you take him someplace awesome to eat.. lord knows when i got back from iraq thats the first thing i wanted.. a beer, and some REAL food lol..
  23. QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 28, 2010 -> 07:28 PM) I'm a Johnnies beef guy. Thanks for your service, what military branch were you in? Army, and thank YOU for caring
  24. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jan 28, 2010 -> 07:19 PM) Manny's Deli. End of discussion. ooo Mannys a longtime favorite of mine. Nothing like a corned beef sandwhich done right and a matzo ball soup, yummmmm!
  25. Just had some of the greatest texas style brisket ever at this place called "Smoque" over on addison and pulaski. Someone told me that the place was shown on the food network channel so I had to check it out and boy did they deliver. Its hard to find a place with good brisket in chicago but this place nailed it!
