anyone pick up Just Cause 2? if you like open world/sandbox gta4 style games, you will enjoy this i guarantee it. The size of the world in Just Cause 2 makes GTA4's look miniscule.. You need to fly a plane just to get from one end of the map to the other, or else itll take forever. this games going to keep me busy for a while till UFC 2010 comes out.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 4, 2010 -> 03:51 PM) I loved his initial post. He tried wayyy too hard after that. I thought he might've been Brandofan. But I just can't fathom a grown man being this obsessed with a message board. If that was him, that's at least (and I'm not exaggerating) the 20th time he's tried to come back on here under a different name. That's Glenn Close style obsession. brandofan :lolhitting that brings me back!

QUOTE (zenryan @ Apr 4, 2010 -> 03:39 PM) I'll root for MU because the Glazers own the Bucs who are my favorite NFL team. But if they lose I'm affected as much as if I hear the Rockies lost a baseball game. Cant really get too excited or upset when I might watch a game once a month involving MU. But I do look at the box scores every night when there's a game to see how the teams that have Americans did. i get what you're saying. i was like that at first with chelsea but i found out of these pubs by my house that broadcast premier league games and ive started going there every gameday in my chelsea shirt and talk smack to all the gooners lol. makes it a lot more personal. -
I confess i enjoy a huge new york slice of pizza more often than i do a deep dish one

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 31, 2010 -> 02:46 PM) IF Mauer doesn't miss a month, if Morneau doesn't miss a month, if Span keeps playing at a higher level than he ever did in the minors, if Orlando Hudson stays healthy, if the Twins starting 5 doesn't implode, if Pavano stays healthy, if the Twins bullpen doesn't suffer a major letdown, if the Twins don't trade for Heath Bell the thing about the twins is even with an IF factor they still come to play and always seem in the hunt to win the central every year, they're the piranhas for a reason.

I picked Minnie cause like its been said a million times, there are way too many IF's on this team.. IF rios plays like the old rios, IF cq stays healthy, IF Freddy turns out solid performances and doesnt get hurt, IF andruw jones is legit. Our lineup just doesnt shout "runs" to me. Unless this is a year like '05 where seemingly everyone has a career year, i dont see us getting very far and i see our pitchers losing a lot of one run games. but then again this is why i dont work for ESPN

Hawks national anthem... Disrespectful?
flippedoutpunk replied to southsider2k5's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
im pretty sure were not the only country that plays the national anthem before sporting events. I dont think anyones ever forced to be patriotic or else we would have something crazy like forcing all of americas youth to join some form of our military as soon as they turn 18. -
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Mar 31, 2010 -> 02:13 AM) My game took like 35-40 minutes, and I simulate pitching. Not sure if I can endure games that last like 70-80 minutes. I hear that! Baseball is such a longgg game thats why I get my quick baseball fix with a couple RTTS games (I skip fielding and baserunning oppurtunities to really make the games fly by). When i actually have some time to kill ill fire up a game with my Sox franchise.

I Gotta Feeling - Black Eyed Peas.... I really think that song would go well as im digging into the plate having a positive outlook especially if im a player that regularly produces, it would get the crowd fired up for sure.

Hawks national anthem... Disrespectful?
flippedoutpunk replied to southsider2k5's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
i dont find it disrespectful at all. i, like most people here was taught to be quiet during the anthem since childhood and especially throughout my military career but man, few moments have brought a tear to my eye like the way my first hawks game since i'd been back from iraq and seeing everyone go crazy for the anthem and the flag. -
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 01:15 PM) RTTS is really starting to frustrate me. For no apparent reason, my guy seems to be regressing. It's become impossible to avoid the big innings and if I give up another double under the 1B/3B glove I'm going to flip s***. if you dont add points to certain abilities for over 30 days you will start to regress in that category.

QUOTE (Fotop @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 02:06 AM) and if you're one to ridiculously spoil yourself every now and then: L20 lol L20 is pretty ridiculous, almost as much as Alinea where it will cost you at the very least $400 per person. If you go there you better take someone you reeeaaaaaaaaalllyyyyy love

QUOTE (bschmaranz @ Mar 10, 2010 -> 05:00 PM) I scored a black Bo Jackson jersey with the inaugural season comiskey patch on it (Mitchell & Ness, retails for $300) for $25 recently. eBay rules. Im always a little iffy when it comes to buying jerseys UNLESS its a classic type player ala bo jackson or more recently, Frank Thomas whom are forever etched into Sox history. I have too many bad memories of spending on an authentic ray durham jersey only to have him get traded shortly after, ugh... As far as buying a replica vs an authentic, theres a minor difference to ur everyday fan but a real stickler could easily point out the differences so I would go with the replica if it doesnt bother you that much.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Mar 10, 2010 -> 02:11 PM) I was born and raised in Chicago. Anyway, I got a hot dog and a burger, cheese fries and a banana smoothie. Awesome. i was just poking a little fun, sort of like a guy from philly never having a philly cheesesteak but this is a guy from chicago first-timing at portillos

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Mar 10, 2010 -> 09:00 AM) I'm going to lunch at Portillos today. First time. What should I get? GO... like everyone says, italian beef sammich with peppers and maybe mozzarella cheese if youre a dairy fan. also another important step is to get it dipped! after that, welcome to chicago

Ive tried a new hitting strategy thats been working wonders for my RTTS. Instead of moving the left stick around to match the location of the ball on pitches, i just leave it at the center and WAIT for the pitch i want down the center of the plate.. I dont try guess pitch location anymore because it throws me off more than it helps. I just rely purely on my own eye whether its going to be out of the strike zone or not. Once i trained my eye to see certain things, i started to salivate at the sight of a curveball that starts out high and ends up right dead center of the strikezone for a HR. I have my RTTS guy at 21 years old, batting .378 with 30 HRs at the start of August for the St. Louis Cardinals... I have my power and contact at 90 a piece and im just starting to invest in other abilities.
