QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 6, 2010 -> 02:14 PM) Really? How long ago was this? I've lived here for the past 3 years without a single problem. The neighborhood is changing quite rapidly. Think Wicker Park circa the mid to late 90s. hmm ill say the last time it happened was about 6 or 7 years ago. I can see the the changes in logan square especially recently when the gf and I went to Longman and Eagle and mingled with the now posh Logan Square folks. Theres a good bit to do around the area and its too far for the River North folk(except me) to travel which is good because i can only take so much of those "Hollywood stars living in Chicago" types throughout the week. Also big ups for those links, a lot of those I have never been to.

QUOTE (Disco72 @ May 6, 2010 -> 11:01 AM) Even if you don't have time to check out neighborhoods, you really can't go wrong with most of the north side neighborhoods. You may ultimately prefer one over the other, but I don't think there's a "bad" place to live in that area. ehhh my cars used to get broken into on a weekly basis when i lived in logan square and humboldt park and gunshots rang out once in a while at night... but youre correct for the most part, as long as you keep it towards the east side in the north you cant really go wrong.

Ohh so ur still a young military type. Well i dont want to crap on anyone elses suggestions but for your price range you can find a nice place in River North. If you want to experience true city living, check out places in river north if youre interested in living in the middle of EVERYTHING that downtown has to offer

Wrigleyville is definitely a great place to start out. Lots to do around the area and a fast commute to downtown. I feel ill never move from the River North area until the time comes when im "too old" for the fast life. I absolutely love it, there is absolutely no need to own an automobile in this area, no more car payments/ car insurance payments/city stickers/parking tickets. I either walk or take a cab absolutely everywhere and i wish i could calculate the total ive saved in doing that. I really do have everything I need here and it is all within walking distance, and its nice to look outside your window and see all of the beautiful skyscrapers of Chicago right nextdoor to your building.

  9. QUOTE (DGSOXFan14 @ Apr 22, 2010 -> 11:15 AM) Was it worse than this guy? lol Man arrested after vomiting on girl at Phillies game i love this statement by a guy commenting on the story.. "I was at that game. To be fair after watching Kendrick pitch I too threw up."
  10. QUOTE (DGSOXFan14 @ Apr 22, 2010 -> 11:10 AM) DeadSpin: Sox story brought to life by CGI wow that was pretty freaking hilarious
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 22, 2010 -> 10:55 AM) I can't believe how many people feel this team is "irrelevant", "done", "sucks", or whatever adjective you want to use, yet are still here obsessing about it. Why waste your time? I think its cause the white sox at this point are like a mother-in-law, you dread having to see them, but at the end of the day they will always be a part of your life.
  12. QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 19, 2010 -> 06:30 PM) It's called SmitFraud. There are directions to get rid of it - sort of. I ended up removing the file via a spyware removal program, then moving the WINDOWS file that controls the screen saver and background in safe mode. It disabled it, but unless I can overwrite that Windows file, it'll always be in there. Now, I have no screen saver (which you don't really need anyway), and I have no way to access the background through the desktop properties. But, I can still change the background by right clicking on a photo to make it my background. wow thanks for the info knightni!!
  13. Speaking of choking, what a brutal loss to those damn spurs!
  14. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 03:46 PM) Shiroi Hana...best sushi in town. On Clark, just north of Belmont. Shiroi Hana is a good little spot I used to go to back in my earlier college days, its more of a "fast-food" sushi place, still good stuff that will put you in a food coma if youre not careful
  15. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 03:33 PM) Oh your so hilarious.... Thats it.... message me this instant!
  16. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 03:06 PM) You disgust me. sorry bro i forgot u were a member of PETA.
  17. QUOTE (Cali @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 02:34 PM) That Macku Place looks good. I'm really only looking for some good, but not super-fancy overly priced sushi. Macku is ur place then bro, its super high quality stuff without the super fancy price tag... Reservations can be made on the same day that ur planning on going. Unless you are willing to take a shot at an open seat at the sushi bar.
  18. QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 01:44 PM) I don't do sushi....but I have a buddy who is the manager here....it's supposed to be good. http://www.daosushiandthai.com/HOME.html oh man Dao has always been one of my favorites for Thai food.. never had their sushi though
  19. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 11:57 PM) there's a place on belmont and paulina called house of noodles or something that you pay 13 up front for a as many sushi plates as you can eat, but if you get more than you can eat you pay like $5 per piece. I like this place. i like that place also.. it all depends on wat ur lookin for Cali, chicago is a pretty big city with tons of spots hidden in little nooks in random neighborhoods. Do you want a not so expensive place with tons of quantity and good sushi. Or are you lookin for a place where ull pay 12 bucks a roll and every piece you eat with your lil chopsticks is a masterpiece straight from the sushi Gods?
  20. QUOTE (Pants Rowland @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 09:24 PM) This thread rules. I have been busy all day and it was a major and pleasant surprise to come home and see we are now into our third page. More importantly, back on topic, anyone who made fun/doubted me, how many runs did the White Sox score tonight? Anyone? Anyone? Who's laughing now? For all the sabrmetricians and Bill James disciples here, some of you don't seem to understand a thing about trends or statistics. oh man ur gona get em all riled up *holds up my flame shield*
  21. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 06:53 PM) I've been told Macku Sushi in the DePaul/Lincoln Park area is really good. You sir are absolutely correct.. Macku sushi is definitely my favorite sushi place in Chicago, better than japonaise, sushi samba, coast, all that.. You cant go wrong when you have Chef Macku in the kitchen!!
  22. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 07:44 PM) How is it that THIS thread is still open, but the Andruw Jones thread got locked? because obviously the sox scored too many runs last night
