Did the Sox score too many runs tonight?
flippedoutpunk replied to Pants Rowland's topic in Pale Hose Talk
i know what you mean. it always seems when the sox score a real nice amount of runs one game, theyre destined to get one-hit the next. i dont know if its coincidence or not but whatever. P.S. i dont think you deserve to have people call you retarded over something thats more of a superstition than anything. I think youre entitled to an opinion and if people dont agree with it then they shouldnt bother to bash you in your own thread. It feels like if anyone has anything bad to say about their own team that they pay good money to see and support, theyre scolded to the point of no return. I think of it this way, if someone says something i dont agree with, I ignore it. Kind of like when you have an idiot little brother that says wacky kids stuff, youre not going to bash him until he stops, you're just going to let kids be kids.. Let pessimists be pessimists (not that im calling the topic starter one..) Also i think the catch-all thread would be better if like in the political forums with the republican and democrat threads, there was a sort of a pessimistic ideas thread where any bit of badmouthing can go in, and the other fans that want to enjoy their clubs successes dont have to see it posted all over pale hose talk.. -
Silly me was using piratebay.org on my gfs laptop and got a real nasty son of a gun virus that kept changing the windows desktop into a red background with the flashing letters "YOUR COMPUTER IS INFECTED". Ive grown so accustomed to my macbook that i forgot about the importance of anti-virus software on a windows machine needless to say the virus really did a number on the laptop and i had to do a factory reset which made her very highly upset

Basically, without honestly being an apple fan boy. My dream device would be an iPhone with 80gb of space. An even faster processor. Quality camera on front and back. FLASH support (lolz). Wow i guess thats really it for me. My jailbroken iphone does everything and more for me. Ooo maybe netflix support too!

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 04:00 PM) It's sadder with me personally. A few Cubs fans I know love USCF cause our field/ballpark is "nice." They actually go to the games too and just try and either heckle people, or wear Cubs gear like they are some kind of rebel... without a cause. They hate everything else about us though. i hate seeing that, people wearing opposing teams gear just to be overtly obnoxious at our games. Although i dont condone this type of behavior, one of the supposed twins fans at the game on friday got his head split open by a huge sox fan that apparently had enough of him screaming obnoxiously and cheering wildly after every single white sox out for the entire game (which went into extra innings). I think if you plan on going to a game dressed as a fan of the opposing team, thats fine, but you cross the line when you overtly taunt the home team and annoy every fan around you. There are people in this world that wont grin and bear it, and there are other people that dont believe in calling security and take matters into their own hands..

QUOTE (earthshiner @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 03:47 PM) anyone ever try telling a cubs fan that Wrigley is a dump? doesn't go over so well im sure it goes both ways. sox fan says wrigley is a dump, cub fan says USCF sucks, sox fan says Zambrano is not an ace, cub fan says buehrle is not an ace. Its a never ending feud that is impossible to avoid no matter how hard you try, cub "fans" are everywhere. At work, in other cities, at weddings, at funerals.. the day the Cubs win the world series is the day i move out of chicago.. it would be non-stop smack talk every single season until the Sox win another one.

QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 03:03 PM) the most ridiculous one I've seen, not racist, just gross, was around Wrigley with a Cardinal pointing to its rectum and something like "St. Louis takes it in the Poo-Holes"... just don't see where you could wear that one my mother in laws house

QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 01:57 PM) Anybody who thinks those "mows my lawn" Tshirts are funny is a moron. Who would buy one of those? A type of Cub fan that has little interaction with people of a hispanic race outside of seeing the cooks at their ultra-chic restaurants in River North I actually saw a "twins" fan at fridays game wearing that shirt.

***Off-Topic*** I hate people that say Apple users are a bunch of sheep trying to get in with the trend. I totally resent that.. When i think of that statement, I TOTALLY think something like Chicago Cubs.. You have a nice shiny product being sold in a nice shiny area, everyone talks about it, its trendy, but in the end its a totally INFERIOR product. That is not apple by any means because the product is in no way, shape or form inferior. When i switched from PC to Apple 2 years ago (after nearly 17 years of Windows use) i was literally blown away by how much easier it was to use and the peace of mind of knowing how hard it is to get a virus on the friggin thing and my macbook is still ticking two years later after heavy usage and tons of pr0n sites and accidental clicks onto shady looking web links. I used to be an android user, with the G1 and then the HTC myTouch. And i truly loved it. But then i saw these people with their fancy iphone 3GS and i thought wats the big deal, but then i saw them access apps at lightning speeds and text people with an ultra-responsive keyboard. My touchscreen keyboard on myTouch always seemed to have some lag when typing on it, and the processor suddenly seemed weak compared to the iPhone.. So i decided why not own the iPhone since its clearly the quality product. And then once i found out about jailbreaking the iphone and doing things that make it 100 times better than what is actually is, well, that was just the icing on the Apple cake

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 09:15 AM) The Zune HD is meh, my friend has one. It's nothing more than a glorified MP3 player now, just like the iPOD Touch. I don't see the point in these devices anymore...it should also be a phone, mobile internet communicator, etc. I'm not one that sees the point in carrying around a device for every little thing when 1 android or 1 iphone can do all of it plus more. i agree, my iphone is my all-in-one device, my source of music, my phone, emergency GPS, my swiss army knife of technology

wow i dont know how to feel about this PPV... ****spoiler alert***** Frankie Edgar with the great win over BJ, and Anderson Silva putting on the most boring performance ive ever seen. I dont know what was wrong with him once the third round hit, he just put it in cruise control and danced around the ring.

QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 08:35 AM) This is something that's truly stunning. Do you think Obama and Biden are allowed to fly together on the same plane? i doubt it, could you imagine if something happened to both of them, holy moly that would be insane! -
Ozzie please resign, I know you can't sit through this again
flippedoutpunk replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
this whole freaking out phase is mostly because alot of fans are thinking "wow this is the same thing as last year, typical white sox..." i know its important to get off to a good start, im staying optomistic and thinking that its all just due to bad cold weather. The only game we won was the game where the temperature was nice and for those of us that have actually been to the last 4 games, we know how chilly its been at the park. i would definitely not want to play ball in that kind of weather, but then again im not getting paid millions -

QUOTE (Mr. Showtime @ Apr 4, 2010 -> 11:13 PM) A question for all of the long time Show players I had was, is there any kind of mound charging or anything like that? the last game ive played where you can charge the mound was the ea sports MVP series i beleive. If you got hit with a pitch it will pop up for u to press triangle to charge and clear the benches. also on bad calls you could press triangle to get ozzie out to home plate with the umpire to argue.
