I have the Delphi SkyFi and the only thing I dont like about it is the antenna has to face a certain direction in the sky for it to work. With my house I can only use it in certain rooms because thats the only place i can get reception. Also I have to put the antenna out my window or else it wont pick up anything.

Leinart likely to decide on his future tomorrow

I just think he would stay because all of his receivers and running backs will be back so they will be going for the Championship again. I think itd be alot more fun to go for a national championship then go to a bad nfl team to struggle and lose alot. -

According to sources close to the situation, the Detroit Lions are considering releasing Harrington in late February, prior to paying him a scheduled $3 million roster bonus. In addition to the bonus, Harrington will make nearly $5 million in salary for the 2005 season -- there has been heated debate within the Lions organization about whether to make the additional financial investment in Harrington. "That decision hasn't been made yet," said a Lions source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity. "We're looking at all the options." According to several sources, Lions president Matt Millen wants to bring Harrington back but the team's offensive coaching staff wants to go in another direction. After Sherm Lewis was forced out of his offensive coordinator job one day after the regular season ended on Jan. 2, he wrote letters to Millen, team owner William Clay Ford and vice chairman Bill Ford Jr., stating that the Lions would never win with Harrington playing quarterback. Lewis, who officially "retired" following the season, said Harrington didn't have the intangibles to be a winning quarterback in the NFL. Lewis' letter did not come as a surprise to anyone in the organization because he was never in Harrington's corner. Still, it shows the level of disagreement between the different factions. Millen was in San Francisco for a scouting trip on Tuesday and was unavailable for comment. Members of the Lions front office, coaching staff and scouting department are expected to meet several times over the next five weeks to discuss whether Harrington will return. While money will be an issue, it won't be the deal-breaker in either situation (whether they keep or cut him). By cutting Harrington now, the Lions would face an immediate salary cap hit of $5.5 million, but it wouldn't affect their ability to re-sign their own free agents and pursue other unrestricted free agents.

White Sox and Bears are my favorites of course. I want to get a White Sox jersey but I dont know if a replica would be good or to just go with the authentic.

I dont like White at all. He beats up on some garbage teams and pads his stats then he plays the real teams in a bowl game and looks like trash. -
Ron Turner offered a contract
Confederate_48 replied to Chisoxfn's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
By David Haugh Tribune staff reporter January 8, 2005 Lured by loyalty and opportunity, Ron Turner flew to Baltimore on Friday morning to interview with old buddy and Ravens coach Brian Billick, team President Dick Cass and owner Steve Bisciotti for the team's vacant offensive coordinator position. Turner left town without an offer, an NFL source said, and the Bears interpreted that as good news for a team that hopes the 51-year-old joins coach Lovie Smith's staff as early as Saturday. Besides the chance to run an offense with minimal meddling from Smith, the Bears believe they offer Turner something Baltimore cannot: proximity to his home in Champaign. Sources who have spoken to Turner have said family concerns will weigh as heavily as any other in his decision-making process, and Turner's son, Cameron, will be the senior starting quarterback for Centennial High School if the Turners stay. No other viable candidates currently exist for the Bears besides Turner, a source said. If he says no, the team likely will wait a couple weeks until offensive coordinators on playoff teams are available. Even potential candidates such as Cam Cameron of San Diego or Scott Linehan of Minnesota would have to wait two weeks after their contracts expire at the end of their seasons, as per NFL rules. That puts all the Bears' focus on Turner, who interviewed for 10 hours Wednesday and was offered a three-year contract worth $500,000 annually to do the job he held for four seasons from 1993-96. Turner promised the Bears he would give them an answer by the end of the weekend, and Friday's quick trip to Maryland has not changed that timetable. One source close to Turner thought the trip to see Billick did not change anything and the Bears remained the front-runner for the ex-Illinois coach. Turner could not have spent much time with Billick, who departed the team's complex by midafternoon for weekend TV commitments. That left little time in the morning to meet with Turner and New Orleans quarterbacks coach Mike Shepard, who also was crammed into Billick's schedule Friday. One source close to Turner said it was possible Turner interviewed with the Ravens because he told Billick he would not take another job until hearing his friend out. It was pointed out Friday at Halas Hall that defensive coordinator Ron Rivera interviewed with the New York Jets last January to fulfill a commitment to a friend, Jets coach Herman Edwards, even though Rivera was leaning toward the Bears. The Ravens have narrowed their candidates to Turner, Shepard, former college coach Rick Neuheisel (who interviewed Thursday) and Linehan. A source said Billick is known to favor Turner, for whom he worked at Stanford from 1989-91. Turner was the offensive coordinator and Billick the wide receivers coach for coach Dennis Green on a Stanford offensive staff that included Tyrone Willingham. When Green left to become head coach of the Minnesota Vikings, he took Billick and Willingham with him. Turner turned down Green's offer to join the staff to pursue the vacated Stanford head-coaching job that eventually went to Bill Walsh. That set off a surprising chain of events that resulted in Turner replacing Terry Shea—which he is poised to do again, 13 years later. Shea was the head coach at San Jose State but followed Bill Walsh to Stanford in 1992 to assume Turner's old job as offensive coordinator. Turner was the runner-up to Walsh for that job and spent a season as San Jose's head coach before joining Dave Wannstedt's Bears staff in 1993. -

I just read an article on another board that makes it seem like he would actually pick Chicago over Baltimore -
When I think Braylon Edwards it reminds me of David Terrell

For some reason I see him going to Baltimore and us stuck taking some guy whose never been an OC before -
If we did trade down to get the two first rounders would that involve our 2nd rounder ?? And no I dont think Vince Young is in the draft.

If he can get two picks in the first round by trading down thatd be awesome

Bears offer offensive job to Turner January 7, 2005 BY MIKE MULLIGAN Staff Reporter Advertisement The Bears have offered their offensive coordinator vacancy to former Illinois coach Ron Turner and could find out as soon as today if he is taking the job. Turner, who held the position with the Bears for four years under Dave Wannstedt, would take over an offense ranked last in the NFL. A source close to the coach said late Thursday that Turner still planned to interview in Baltimore, but that is not believed to put his standing with the Bears in jeopardy, although it's uncertain how long the Bears will wait before moving on. Ravens coach Brian Billick met Thursday with former University of Washington coach Rick Neuheisel and will meet with New Orleans Saints quarterbacks coach Mike Shepard today. Billick is then scheduled to leave for New York to do studio work during the NFL playoffs, which doesn't leave much time for a meeting with Turner. The Ravens also reportedly want to interview Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Scott Linehan, whose contract is up after the Vikings are eliminated from the playoffs. If Linehan is on Baltimore's list, it could take some time to get to him. NFL rules prohibit coaches whose contracts run out from interviewing with other teams until 15 days after the end of their season. There is usually back-room contact, but no official offers can be made until that time. That means the Bears will have to wait, should Turner decline the job, if they want to pursue Linehan, New Orleans' Mike McCarthy or San Diego's Cam Cameron. The Bears hope it won't come to that and remain confident they offer the best opportunity for Turner. Turner would run his own show in Chicago, as opposed to working under an offensive-minded coach in Billick. It's also uncertain what will happen with Jim Fassel, the former New York Giants coach who worked as a consultant in Baltimore this past season. Fassel turned down the chance to be the Ravens' offensive coordinator to pursue a head-coaching position, but if he doesn't land one, he could return to Baltimore as another set of eyes watching the coordinator. Turner was not displeased with the Bears' offer and is weighing whether he could take the job in Chicago and commute to Champaign, where his family is settled after his eight-year run with the Illini. Turner's son, Cameron, is a junior at Champaign Centennial High School, where he is the school's starting quarterback. If Turner takes the job, he's expected to bring at least one, possibly two, assistant coaches with him. One of those men likely will be Harry Hiestand, who served as Illinois' offensive line coach the last six years, doubling as assistant head coach for five years. -
In four seasons working with the Chicago Bears, Turner coordinated an offense that improved every season, breaking the club record for passing yards with 233 yards per game in 1995 and producing a 1,000-yard receiver and rusher in the same season. The diversity of the Turner offense in Chicago found success under four different quarterbacks in Jim Harbaugh (1993), Steve Walsh (1994), Erik Kramer (1995) and Dave Krieg (1996). In 1994, the Bears led the NFC Central Division for much of the regular season and defeated division rival Minnesota, 35-18, in a first-round playoff game.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jan 5, 2005 -> 01:31 PM) Right now it seems like Fassel is going to become the next Ravens OC. If the bears don't get Linehan, they could possibly look at Brad Childrees the Eagles OC, as he could leave if he doesn't get a head coaching job and then Marty Morhninweg would take over as the Eagles OC. Why would Childress leave Philly if he doesnt get a HC job ?? Wouldnt he just stay there for another year since they have the players to compete still instead of going to another team to be an OC ??
