Don't get me wrong, I love Strauss, but this is an overdraft. Elih Villanueva and Matt Fairel are better than him, but Strauss is a Sr. He's been great this year after having a mediocre Jr campaign.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jun 5, 2008 -> 10:13 PM) The FSU vs Wichita State Super Regional Playoff game is going to be on ESPN2 at 1pm CT tomorrow. Should be a good opportunity to see KW2 in action (as well as Buster Posey.) I can not wait for that game. It's going to be so damn hot though. Interesting note that no one here cares about: Posey and WSU 3B Conor Gillaspe were both drafted by the Giants (Gillaspe was 37th overall). And for those hating on the Buster name. Would you rather it be Gerald Posey?

2008 MLB Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 5, 2008 -> 08:28 PM) Wait, what? They had a little fight in the dugout around the 5th inning. I only saw a replay of it and heard the Rays announcers talking about it. Although, when I say fight, it was more of a shove and they had to be separated. Also over at SoSH. They have this to say..."Replay shows that Manny actually gave Youk a backhand and a shove before being restrained." http://sonsofsamhorn.net/index.php?showtop...p;#entry1608888

Youkilis and Manny just went at it baseball style in the dugout.

Forgot to say this earlier. Beckham hit one of the hardest home runs against FSU that I have ever seen at Dick Howser. It was just a solid line drive that got out of the park in a hurry.

QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Jun 5, 2008 -> 01:48 PM) If Posey is asking for $12 mil, the Sox should not take him. That's a ludicrous demand. I agree. Its dumb, he does not warrant $12 mil. Gah, whatever, I wanted him to go to the Rays so I can catch him on TV. Marlins would be nice too for the same reason, but whatever. At least the Cubs don't need a catcher.

Over at the Warchant baseball message board, an mod said the Giants might not take Posey at 5 either. He could be there at 8 and he might drop further.

Haha, man I've been here. I'm just waiting for everything to go wrong. I'll tell you, Sunday and Mondays game were two of most exciting I've ever been too here. I got my tix for every game of the SR. Luckily they're under the roof so I can avoid the sun with 2:00, 12:00 and 1:00 starts. IF we win, we have all tough ass matchup with Miami, CSF/Stanford, and NCSt/UGA.

FutureSox 2008 MLB Draft Discussion
QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Jun 4, 2008 -> 02:45 AM) From John Manuel's blog: • The White Sox have been linked to Arizona State’s two-time Pac-10 triple crown winner, Brett Wallace, at the No. 8 spot, but the Sox may be more interested in another Pac-10 lefthanded hitter. Chicago farm director Alan Regier was given extensive scouting duties in the wake of Dave Wilder’s firing. Regier, a former assistant coach at California, is the godfather of Stanford catcher Jason Castro. Regier’s recent promotion to the scouting side has fueled speculation that Castro, whose profile is similar to Chicago’s current catcher, A.J. Pierzynski, could be the Sox’ pick. http://www.baseballamerica.com/blog/draft/?p=286#more-286 If we take a catcher not named Posey or Skipworth in the first...wow.

FutureSox 2008 MLB Draft Discussion
I really hope Buster doesn't go to the Giants. I've also heard the Marlins like Crow even though they need a catcher. I would be extremely ecstatic is he got to us, but who knows, we might not even take him as his stock seems to be falling a little bit.

That's a Sox Loser Tonight
I got excited at the game when I saw Uribe taking grounders at 3rd. I assumed that meant he was going to the Utility role, but this frustrates me.

Chicago White Sox @ Cleveland Indians
QUOTE (Fotop @ May 27, 2008 -> 09:12 PM) Really? I obviously missed that one. Wow. I don't get how that ever works. Yeah, I forget against who, but I remember i/ming heads in amazement asking him the same question about when does that ever work. They ended up getting the guy out at home after throwing to first, having the guy safe at 2nd, then Uribe threw home flat footed and got him.

QUOTE (Fotop @ May 27, 2008 -> 09:11 PM) Also, when in the heck was the last time the fake to 3rd/should be a balk/throw to first move worked? Cubs/Sox Series like 5 years ago? (Sean Lowe I believe) A couple of weeks ago with Dotel.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 25, 2008 -> 06:51 PM) LSU is playing very very good right now. EDIT: Sorry, the list I saw didn't include LSU on there. They are hosting. I'm surprised they didn't get a regional. Don't get me wrong, I like having another ACC team host, but I don't know how NC State got one over them.
