I wish the game would have gone 9, but what can you do? (I was hoping for a tie just to show how even it is) After this series, I really do feel that Miami is the number 1 team in the nation. They're better than us, we just have to much inconsistency. Now I just hope we take 2/3 from UNC. As far as the post game events, I'm not really surprised. All three teams in Florida hate each other, this was bound to happen, especially after such a close game like that. I don't think one side should be blamed at all. We have a great chance of seeing each other on a Sunday in Jacksonville (although a lot can happen in a tourney). Hopefully we can represent in Omaha.

It's definitely a fun series with a lot of talent on both sides. You guys hit two absolute bombs tonight; I think they're still carrying.

QUOTE (zenryan @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 10:57 PM) 10 run 6th inning leads Miami to a 11-4 win at FSU. I was really surprised that Martin waited so long to yank his starter. Don't even get me started about Martin and that game. 3 errors didn't help either. Miami is really really good. That SS has amazing range too. I came away extremely impressed, and I just hope we win one and win the series next week against UNC.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 17, 2008 -> 11:18 PM) Its not personal, just an observation. Thats also a reason why the rivalry isnt as intense. Packers/Bears may have been crazy back in the day, but its not that way anymore. In fact at a Bears game, I think Detroit/Chicago is more intense. If you go to a bar around chicago during one of these games, the stadium during the games, or even THIS messageboard during one of them, I guarantee that cubs/sox is most intense, theres no question. Ok, then why is it all about intensity? Why isn't it bad to cheer for two teams in the same division? The question isn't which one is more intense (no doubt that's Sox/Cubs), but as a sports fan which combo is worse to cheer for. Honestly, I love seeing the Cubs lose any time they can, but it rarely ever affects the Sox (unless they are playing an AL Central team or a really good AL team that can get the WC).

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 17, 2008 -> 11:05 PM) Funny how alot of the people saying Packers/Bears dont live in chicago. How many fights break out in Soldier field during the games? Cubs/Sox games are 200% more intense than Bears/Packers. Bars, taverns, households, and the stadium its much more intense of a rivalry. Um, if you're talking about me, check your facts...I lived in Chicago my whole life and go to school in Florida. How many Packers fans are at a Bears game? How many of them are insane enough to try to start s***?
-
Bears/Packers...they're in the same division and are rivals, while the Sox and Cubs are rivals, but are in different leagues. That's like being a Sox and Tigers fan or a Sox and Indians fan.

AJ: "Can you go 7 more?" Haha, that was enjoyable. It also says part 1 so it leads me to believe there will be more Joe, meet Pro stuff from Cowley.

Well I have Audio working now, but the video feed is lost. So much for being able to watch every game? -

It'd be cool if MLB.tv decides to work. -
I think one year is dumb. With one year, all they have to do is take classes like Theory and Practice of Baseball/Basketball/Football and other easy classes and they're set. They don't care about getting education; That's the last thing on their mind. They know they're in and out so they do not care what they learn as long as they can play. I think it should be at least 2 years, but I would like to see the same setup as football and baseball.

QUOTE (zenryan @ Apr 13, 2008 -> 12:17 AM) Miami beats GT 10-5 and 15-5 today. Doesnt really matter though... You pumped for the weekend? 1 vs. 2. We might draw over 20,000 combined for this series which would be awesome. It should be a great test for both teams. Look how similar the teams are: Batting: Avg: FSU .352, Miami .341 2B: FSU 90, Miami 78 3B: FSU 14, Miami 13 HR: FSU 51, Miami 51 RBI: FSU 303, Miami 281 SLG: FSU .576, Miami .571 BB: FSU 238, Miami 176 HBP: FSU 36, Miami 35 OB%: FSU .465, Miami .439 ERA: FSU 3.62, Miami 3.64 BB: Miami 98, FSU 128 SO: Miami 292, FSU 255 BAA: Miami .233, FSU .239 Defense: FLD% Miami .977, FSU .952 (ewww) SBA%: Miami .548, FSU .581 (FSU has played 2 more games though, so Miami has the better numbers) Do you know if Erickson will be back?

Last week I was able to watch all the games before the Fox ones, and I was able to watch the Sox game even though I am out of market and the Braves were on here. I hold out some hope. Edit: and I'm online again! -

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 11, 2008 -> 09:36 PM) We're down 1 run....it's still early, and Lopez is their best reliever. Exactly, get him out of the game. Get a delay, let them bring in Grilli. -

Please rain, come and save us from this game... -
Terribly sad news out of Atlanta. 21 year old pitcher, Michael Hutts, died today. They have yet to determine the cause of death and tonights game against Miami has been postponed. FSU swept BC in a double header today 8-6 and 4-3. Game 3 is tomorrow with 100% chance of rain Saturday and Sunday.

Man I wish I could get my hands on some Home Run Inn in Florida... I go for the Tombstones now.

QUOTE (DBAH0 @ Apr 9, 2008 -> 09:56 PM) Bulls only lost by 32 to the Magic today. Only. Yeah, I was there for my first NBA game... I gota say I was disappointed with the Amway Arena. We got their as soon as the gates were open and the floors were already sticky everywhere you'd go. Also, this is a small complaint, but there are no cup holders on the seats (no wonder the floor was sticky, I guess they never mop?). I also don't like how both levels have to jam into one concourse (it was hell walking through there). There are some other things, but I guess I was just expecting a little bit better arena. I guess this is why they are getting a new one though. I did enjoy their fan interactions though, they were pretty enjoyable. One last thought, Dwight is awesome.

He's at the Final 4 doing the PA. He'll be back Wednesday.
