Gio is the f'n man. It might be time for W-S Keep it up Gio!

My guess is it's the forearm again. Not good.

I'll take Toronto I suppose. I know pretty much nothing about them other than their top young players (McGowan, Bush, Rios, etc) and the fact that they follow a "moneyball" philosophy that favors college players. Either way, sounds like fun. Count me in.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ May 31, 2005 -> 05:15 PM) Sorry, Im not used to the whole green thing, I will work on it though. I thought the sarcasm in my statement was pretty obvious though LOL, it went completely over my head...mostly because I don't know what to expect out of people around here. But good show w/the sarcasm there.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ May 31, 2005 -> 05:11 PM) where is the goddamn choice for Willie Harris?!?!? Come on!!!! :banghead Maybe because Harris doesn't play SS, nor has he played nearly enough SS to garner an opinion on his abilities at the position. But hey, I guess you could say the same thing about Ozuna too, so the obvious choice is Uribe here...solely based on we haven't seen nearly enough of the other two guys play at SS. But sure, if we want to go off of small sample sizes and such, we have a debate.

QUOTE(Steff @ May 31, 2005 -> 04:04 PM) Lean a bit more towards the analyst end of things and you'll be fine. When I was thinking about changing jobs I got 19 calls, went on 5 interviews, and got offers from all of them. I just noticed you're from the Addison area... I might be able to hook you up with some leads if you're interested. After striking out on the intern front, I'm willing to take all the help I can get. But, sure I'd be interested in any help you could offer Steff, thanks.

Makes me glad that I'm a Finance Major. But it's not like the job market is all that great anyways. Going to be a FUN time locking down a job this year.
-
Let's go Irish? I haven't really followed the team much this year, but my RA this past year was on the team the last time ND made it to Omaha. We're always pretty good, so I look forward to the action. CWS is pretty underrated, IMO.

QUOTE(ISF @ May 31, 2005 -> 02:53 PM) Actually I was yelling that at my TV about Ozzie in the 9th yesterday. LMAO. I was thinking the same thing.

QUOTE(BobDylan @ May 30, 2005 -> 06:46 PM) Yea, because post numbers define who is really a fan around here. That was an ignorant comment if you ask me. I'd tend to agree with you, but I don't want to throw fire around w/my meager post count

In my 21 years of my life, I've watched a lot of baseball. And that my good Sox fan friends, was easily the worst managed game I have ever witnessed. I'm very glad that we won, because a loss like this could have crippled our confidence, our momentum, etc. Feasibly, this could have been the beginning of a downward spiral...and if Ozzie doesn't get his head out of his ass, he's going to force many more games like this. Thank God we've got a horseshoe shoved squarely up or collective asses. However, Sox Win is always the phrase that saves.
-
As I said before: Worst. Managed. Game. Ever. This outcome does NOT justify the awful handling of today's game. Get yer head out of your ass Guillen. But, Sox win!
-
Pierzynski, anyone? Bueller?
-
Worst. Managed. Game. Ever. I don't care if we win.
-
Time for a Pods bunt.
-
Wow, big balls to send harris. It paid off though. Hit his ass over crede!
-
Wow, that was a strike. Come on Joe, captialize on the gift.
-
Joe and 2.

10 Bucks says crede pops up the bunt

QUOTE(Capn12 @ May 30, 2005 -> 05:43 PM) ENOUGH......stop this incessant name calling...quit acting like 3rd graders who didn't get an extra cookie at lunch...attack the team, attack the coach.. DO NOT attack each other unless you want a Soxtalk vacation QUOTE(doUrememberwhen @ May 30, 2005 -> 05:44 PM) WINPREP U LITTLE f***** PUNK DONT SEND ME ANY MORE PRIVATES. eAT THAT SOCK ON URE f***ING HEAD AND CHOKE ON THAT U LITTLE DICKLESS FREAK. Quite the speed to say that right after an admin drops in.

Inning Over. Damage done. 4-3 Halos going to the bottom of the ninth.

QUOTE(iWiN4PreP @ May 30, 2005 -> 05:37 PM) Oh shut the f*** up about Ozzie He keeps buehrle in = people give him s*** about hermanson he puts hermy in and if he blew game = people s***ting on him for not keeping buehrle This game was lost by iguchi (np, since he has been great, 1 bad mistake oh well) not by ozzie retards. No we shouldn't shut the f*** up about Ozzie because today has compounded legitmate concerns about his ability as a game manager. Many of us have expressed this before but have been shooed away, but today is another prime example of his inability to manage a pitching staff and continually put in dead weight (particularly Perez today) in key situations.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ May 29, 2005 -> 09:25 PM) That was only the 11th home run to be hit in the club section at the Ballpark. That thing just EXPLODED off the bat. I don't think I've seen one get out like that one did - live. Talk about the hardest HRs I've seen hit live? That one was MAYBE top five. But yes, it was crushed. I can tell you my top three though, all at the cell, two of them off of Foulke (with the honorable mention going to one off of foulke as well) I don't really remember the years but: 3) McGwire hitting one out of U.S. Cellular, literally, it one hopped the LF concourse and bounced out over the hat shop. 2) Giambi trashing Foulke for a 3-run shot to right. 1) Eric Chavez DESTROYING Foulke to the Right Center concourse. Honorable Mention: Sosa mashing Foulke to tie a Cubs v. Sox game in the Ninth. more than likely cork and steriod aided, but hey so was Giambi's. Just thought I'd go off on a little tangent here, but I agree that ball was destroyed.

I'm sure there are plenty of players who could save this offense, but Frank is the only one that's FREE (in terms of trading talent that is) .

Yea, like I said I'm not all that worried about Garland yet...he had guys off balance, they just put 'em where they ain't. Kap, I was sitting practically on top of first base (2nd row right next to the dugout) so I couldn't really tell much of what was going on in the dugout. But I'm sure the morale was on par with your statements. 3 run homers can do that to any team...and as my dad would say, it's one of the deadliest plays in baseball (since they happen much more often than grand slams, blah blah blah) As for Shingo, I completely agree and feel as though we either need to give a AAA pitcher a chance or look to add from the outside. Shingo, Cotts, and Viz on the back end just isn't going to cut it. I mean those extra runs when you're down 2 or 3 can really demoralize a team. "Junk" time or whatever, hell pitching when we're behind, needs to be better. Period. EDIT: Agree on the Pods front as well, he really fuels the team. But, on a very positive note we were able to score some runs without him today. 4 runs w/an o-fer Pods is impressive for they way this offense is running. We just couldn't stop the runaway train that is the Rangers' offense.
