  1. This is the one starter of the series that I somewhat worry about facing...
  2. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Aug 15, 2006 -> 02:56 AM) He's hitting like .300 or something like that since July first. I knew patience would pay off in his case. This kid can seriously play. He'll be all-star caliber by '08. I wouldnt call him a future allstar but a pretty damn good player and i guess maybe 1-2 allstar appearances if all goes right. He has a lot of power that we havent seen yet that I think will come out next season.
  3. QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 14, 2006 -> 11:35 PM) Like Brian Anderson, right? I dont know why the tongue? Brian Anderson since making the adjustments has been a pretty good hitter in the 9 hole. Still nothing great but very respectable....
  4. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Aug 14, 2006 -> 03:53 PM) I'll tell you why it's courageous.... She is a former Muslim...a WOMAN...and is saying all of this on Al-Jazeera. She's standing up and courageously saying that what is happening is happening because some Muslims are ignorant to the ways of other religions. Not all, not most, not many, but some. She's basically telling a male-centric society that they are wrong. I personally think that's courageous. There are "some" ignorant people in all religions.... nothing really courageous about saying it about 1 particular religion or another. Yes in the middle east its male dominated but who are we to judge what is right or wrong....
  5. QUOTE(fullcollapse @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 10:26 PM) for underrated player i was going to say webb, but then capuano's name got thrown out so i compared their stats. it looks like webb had the edge in most everything except K (which is close) and the sb against. the thing i love most about webb though is his gb/fb ratio. Webb has better stats but that doesnt mean he is under-rated since I think at least he gets his fair share of pub. If RJ/Schilling never left than he probably be looked over but he is pretty well recognized.
  6. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 09:15 PM) They are getting nervous, you can see it right down to that bum Pudge getting kicked out over a slider down the middle. THE HEAT IS ON. That pitch was clearly a ball... it was somewhat close though and with 2 strikes you got to protect so he shouldnt of made that big of a fuss.
  7. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 08:53 PM) If we score another run here, I bring Riske in. No reason to wear Thornton out either. id rather secure the win this is a big one. Not that I dont like Riske but i have a lot more faith in Thornton/Jenks.
  8. This is the 4th straight start I think Freddy has kept us in the game.. so barring a meltdown next inning im happy with what Freddy did for us today.
  9. yeah every religion has its extremist....it doesnt make it right to "rip" a religion.
  10. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 07:49 PM) How many pitches did he throw yesterday? just with his violent delivery and all he probably wont pitch back to back days a lot.
  11. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 07:32 PM) The thing is I can't see them taking these guys from a Charlotte team that will be in the playoffs for the first time in a long while. yeah Charlotte is going to be pissed lol if its true but at least they would still have a great playoff rotation with 2 veterans and 2 guys that have had recent struggles but for large part have been great.
  12. What was Dye doing there? With Pudge behind the plate unless your Podsenick and i wouldnt even want him to.. you shouldnt be running.
  13. I like Jeter but people rip on A-Rod for making 25 million and Jeter makes what 21 or something and he isnt close to the player A-Rod is. Not 2 mention if he was a real "captain" he would of made the switch to 3B to let the best fielding SS on the team play the position. Id take Jeter over any other SS in the league besides possibly Michael Young, Tejeda, and A-Rod.
  14. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 07:03 PM) why not? were due nobody is "due" for a 10 spot especially against one of the better pitching teams in the league. Im not ruling it out but to say at least a 10 spot well is..
  15. Id love if we made a play for Rollins... he isnt great but he is possibly the best option for us if we plan to have Fields/Sweeney in LF next year. Also Fields has really blossumed this year and I think he could do better than most give him credit for. Im not expecting anything amazing but better than what Brian is doing at the plate this season. Also id hope Anderson could raise that batting average above the .250 mark and add some pop next season as well. He has made the adjustment with his swing so will be interesting what he does with it for a full season.
  16. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 06:56 PM) I'd love to see the Sox put up at least a 10 spot today at least a 10 spot?
  17. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 01:48 PM) Of course he was, but that doesn't mean that he came into the league with absolutely no concept of how to play the position. The fact is he did play the position in college and he did receive coaching in college at that position. He is the 2nd leading receiver in the history of the University of Georgia. He is not Matt Jones. Don't judge on how I write or post about how I feel about a subject. You really shouldn't do that. Why would I care how you feel... I dont care if your sad/mad/happy whatevr if your being an ass your still being an ass. But anyways no he wasnt as raw as Matt Jones is as a WR but he was still primarily a QB and he wasnt tuning his skills as a WR in college like other elite WR's in the NFL were. Im not saying he is top5 but he is pretty close and I can see an argument being made for him.
  18. Ive only heard good things about him from marlin fans
  19. I think its the Astros or Marlins. I know Cincy is in the lead and has been for most of the season I just dont think much of their team outside of Harang though.
  20. QUOTE(SEALgep @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 03:39 PM) Thought it was Texas, but in any case, it's been great. Not to mention this guys D. Maggs is a good right fielder, but I think JD is about as good as it gets out there, with the exception of Ichiro. I hope your kidding.... I love his arm in the OF and the balls that are in his zone he tends to always make the play but he has such a small range in the OF and he seems soo slow when he is out there too.
  21. Well I forgot they had Odalis Perez who they will probably stick with until the trading deadline at least and by that time Lumsden could be ready.
  22. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 09:38 PM) or this: As a wide receiver for the University of Georgia Bulldogs (1995-1998), Ward's 144 career receptions for 1,965 yards landed him second on the school's team history. You can't. He was a receiver in college. Hmmmmm. Now what can you base your ridiculous arguments on? He was primarily a QB though wasnt he. You really need to lighten up no need to get all pissy pissy over this.
  23. Idonno man they arent that far off. They got 2 hitting prospects that probably will be ready to hit major league pitching. Only problem is Teahen and Gordon both play the same position and it seems they have their future 1B at least for the time being already on the team. So unless they boot Sweeney there is a log jam. Than they can possibly add Lumsden and Greinkie to the rotation next season and that to go with Hernandez, Hudson, and Elarton isnt all that bad considering what they have trot out there in past seasons.
  24. that new GM of the Royals is from the Braves organization right? If so they might be the twins 2.0 in our division in a couple seasons.
  25. So when are we finally going to be able to see this list?
