QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jan 29, 2006 -> 06:36 AM) I told people just to have a little patience with Tyson. Hammerhead and Qwerty were also big time Chandler backers. Id say majority of people were Chandler backers last season but this season he deserved to be ripped b4 this 4 game streak because he was playing like absolute horse s***..... -
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 28, 2006 -> 01:14 AM) Dude...do you not see the irony between you finding a problem with her joking about poisoning Stevens and you saying someone should poison her? We should poison BigSqwert too!

QUOTE(daa84 @ Jan 28, 2006 -> 05:51 PM) which alex gonzalez is that? i think its teh one from florida, which seems pointless to me because they have alex cora, who is the same damn player alex gonzalez is....great defensively, bad with teh stick personally though I think Gonzalez is a better fielder at SS and he has some more power which is nice for a bottom of the order hitter added plus or something. Although he didnt show much power last season....

QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jan 28, 2006 -> 05:40 PM) IMO the best deal would be Carlos Beltran and some pitching prospect for Count straight up... No thats a horrible deal......Beltran is one of the most overated players and he costs way tooo much money. If he was cheap id be like hell yeah but 1. he is super expensive and 2. The Mets arent going to trade a current star in the league for 1 year of a could be ace pitcher.

Well if Wood does come back to the pen their bullpen is going to be pretty awesome with Wood, Eyre, Howry, and Dempster....and maybe being in the pen will keep Wood from injury lol....

Chandler was awesome but the rest of the team must of been lazy.... when 1 guy gets 20 rebounds you shouldnt get out-rebounded as a team..... still Chandler has really picked it up lately he is getting some blocks, rebounds and making free throws... let him never start at the C position again. -
Anderson Gomes...the sleeper of all sleepers
GoodAsGould replied to maggsmaggs's topic in FutureSox Board
Phil Rogers seems super excited about him... more so than I have seen him get about any other prospect... still Im not going to get 2 excited about the kid until he either performs or someone like Bham/Rex or whatevr see him live and confirm he is legit. -
My favorite is when Michael Smith is on ATH... he is the one guy in all 3 of those shows that sounds knowledgable and knows what he is talking about..... cant stand any of the others although woody paige can make me laugh every once in awhile not very often but sometimes.

Desmond Clark named to Pro Bowl

QUOTE(Felix @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 11:41 PM) Its not like Clark had any right to be anywhere near the Pro Bowl in the first place oh no doubt he is far from deserving..... id make him like 9th alternate for the TE position =p..... but to tell a guy he is going and than 2 days later be like oh im sorry that was a mistake 2 bad u arent coming..... i think is wrong. -

QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 08:24 PM) I didn't explain the details of my role & since so much of the "cheat" word is popping up I feel further explanation is required. In the Fall & early Winter I played the role of the tutor for my child. It became evident to me she was taking too long to solve problems & complete assignments. It was then that I brought up the possibility she needs slower classes with a less demanding workload. That was shot down by the teachers so I got no support from the school or at home on this idea. In early Dec I said no to continuing the tutor role. It was taking too much of my time & quite frankly it was depressing. I told my wife hire somebody. She was reluctant to do so & we compromised to where I just had to produce answer keys. She would fill the tutor role. I agreed to that but with one condition: If she couldn't see any improvement we would push for slower classes or special ed. She agreed. I think most paid tutors both budget their time & leave when homework assignments are complete. That means they apply extra help when it's needed to get it finished in a reasonable amount of time. That's the same scenario for my kid. Her Mom controls the answer keys. Schools don't consider making use of tutors cheating. They encourage it. You see thats when u went downhill at least in my opinion.....Yes it might of took a long time and yes it might of been kind of depressing.... but this is your KID... your child a person who if needed should take 100% of your time and than some..... If you want to do it the "right" way than you have to let your kid at least attempt every problem and do her best.... than after that go through her HW with her and show her where she messed up and work the problems out..... thats how you should it.

QUOTE(Felix @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 03:17 AM) Will you at least admit it when he is a bust? are you going to bring up this post in 2-3 years when its safe to label him as a bust? Hell still even be posting here? -
QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 03:14 AM) They are just outfield prospects, not good outfield prospects. Milledge and Anderson are good outfield prospects. No Milledge and Anderson are good prospects that are close to or are major league ready... Gomes and Sanchez are good prospects that arent close to major league ready....but all 4 of them good prospects in their own right.

QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 03:15 AM) No way. Young is NOT Vick, Mr. Young made Pete Carroll look like a fool. And USC doesnt have a terrible defense. :banghead -

QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 03:11 AM) I think we should say f*** it and give the farm for Vince Young. Wont happen, but if it did I'd have trouble not creaming myself every 5 seconds. Idonno he is going to need at least 2-3 seasons to adjust to the NFL really.... and with our current defense id rather take the more polished QB in Lienart. Hell id consider taking Marcus Vick though in the 2nd-3rd round because it wouldnt cost us the "farm" and I think he can be a stud because unlike his brother he knows how to pass. -
QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 03:01 AM) How are Salvador Sanchez and Anderson Gomes good outfield prospects? One was bad in a rookie league and the other has never even had an AB in the minors. Who said they were good pro's.... the question was asked who are good OF prospects and those 2 players are just that PROSPECTS.....that while havent shown it yet have a lot of talent and potential.

QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 03:06 AM) The case really isnt whos better... they both arent starting caliber. It's whos cheaper to keep as a backup, that'd be Kyle Orton, thank you. I've had enough of the Rex Grossman expierence and its time to look for a new answer there. Ok than I can respect that opinion more....As long as you dont drink the Orton kool-aid and think he outperformed Rex just because we beat Carolina earlier.... so while I disagree and would like to see Rex with 1 more season and if he busts or injury again be done with him I can respect that opinion. -

GoodAsGould replied to nitetrain8601's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Im not a fan of either really... although id say of the two I like Rex more... but saying we won with Orton lost with Grossman sounds homerish to me.... this is a message board who cares if we hijack the thread its about the bears anyways just tell me why you think Orton is better and give reasons behind it. -

QUOTE(thedoctor @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 02:53 AM) heard chris spielman on local radio out here today. he's doing the senior bowl for espn and is calling in daily reports to the local shows (he normally hosts one). said davis is just a freak, but a freak who can really, really play. said marcedes lewis looks out of his league and just plain bad. said he could see him falling to the third round. I wouldnt mind us taking Lewis in the 2nd or 3rd round... -

QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 02:45 AM) Im not getting into it. But results are results and we beat Carolina with Orton then lost to them with Grossman (when it really counted I might add.) Back to twan. He'll probably be the best WR on the team, now the Moose caught the usual Chicago suck-cold. I dont want this to get into a whole long argument... but we would of lost the first game and would of been blown out if our defense played like they did in the playoffs during our 1st match with the Panthers.... on that game Orton had 2 short scoring drives thanks to the defense and one scoring drive of his own(3 points)..... Grossman led us to 21 points without any help from the defense.... also prob would of been 24 or 28 if he didnt have to run a hurry up offense and throw the pick at the end because of it. -
QUOTE(Felix @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 02:50 AM) You said that the Sox have a bunch of OF talent in the minors. I assumed that you meant we had a bunch of good outfield prospects in the minors. If my assumption was wrong, I'm sorry, but if not, then what are you talking about? Their really raw and both be at the lower lvl's but you can also say this new kid Anderson Gomes and Salvador Sanchez our good OF prospects.....
