  1. QUOTE(Man Of Steel @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 06:18 PM) I still dont get why everyone is going nuts that "Now Willie cant start" yay!!!! now we can just start a guy who has never played in the MLB and is a HUGE questionmark insted of a guy who hit almost .265 with a near .350 OBP and has more speed and is younger than the guy who we have just signed!! Im not saying Iguchi was a bad signing, but Willie improved last season so what makes you think he wouldnt this year either? I just think people are getting too happy about no Willie Harris over someone who could be worse.. and then someone had the nerve to suggest the White Sox trade Harris AND Garland.... how dare you hey im a big Willie fan but those numbers in Japan the last 2 years were sick that Iguchi put up so while id rather have just not signed Iguchi and kept Willie i think now that we did we have to give Iguchi the job. Which in turns makes Willie a great bat off the bench.
  2. if Willie was really a big distraction he would of been gone b4 this trade i think this supposed bad character that people make him out to be is getting kind of ridiculous. Yeah him and Ozzie seemed at odds last year but hell Ozzie and Frank used to piss each other off so should we trade Frank away too? And maybe Ozzie was just more dissapointed than mad at Willie. Regardless Willie is a great bench player and good insurance if Iguchi falters unless you want to see robbie alomar or wilson valdez your starting 2B.
  3. its obviously going to be Podsenick Iguchi Dye Konerko Everett Rowand AJ Uribe Crede either that or Uribe bats second and Crede 8th and Iguchi 9th... only real 2 possibilities the way i see it.
  4. i say we keep Willie at least till the trading deadline. Like its been said who knows how good Iguchi is going to be, and as for a good fielder kaz matsui was apposed to be a good fielder too and he sucked. By midseason we should know what we have with Iguchi and than use Willie as part of a package to bring in a player to upgrade our team(probably Robbie Alomar )
  5. the best thing about this all is we got a good bench now once everyone is healthy. Gload, Willie, Everett, Ben Davis. While maybe not the best starters those 4 are great bench players.
  6. wow this is pretty amazing... now im not sure if im right but i thought i heard someone here say b4 they dont throw the 2 seam fastball in Japan... so les hope he see's a lot of those in spring training or he might struggle. Also i think he should start in the 2 spot he will see better pitches there.
  7. to me February = most boring month of the year. Football is over and basketball well it might be better now that the bulls are winning and Fighting Illini are ranked 1 but college bball games seem to me like 1 game a week sometimes and the bulls schedule is brutal so might not be 2 pretty to watch... I hate February.
  8. wow, now that i think of it thats right if Marlins sign Delgado than they need to trade some salary away. If we traded for castillo we better not be giving up any of the big 3 in our minors... i know we cant trade Fields so not worried about him.
  9. dont you mean 2 months? and march madness is fun to watch too.
  10. yeah if you can get that fight on soxtalk.
  11. cmon someone has to have the video
  12. doesnt Buehrle throw the cutter... isnt that a pitch that puts a lot of stress on a pitchers arm.
  13. well even though Detroit got those 3 technical fouls in like 20 seconds to me it seemed in the 1st half Kirk was getting pretty much beat up without 2 many whistle blows by the refs
  14. im not a minor league expert but in my opinion i see spidale, Borchard, and escobar at AAA and than Sweeney, Anderson, and Rogo at AA.
  15. he was pretty solid for us and the rangers 2 years ago and i just hope he can repeat that because he might be a butcher in the field but he sure is fun hitter to watch and a switch hitter in the lineup is always a big help.
  16. yeah but have you looked who they played on the road compared to at home? and how many of those home games were when the home team just had a road game the day b4... and yet again i said it helps just not as much as you all think it does.
  17. well i can agree with that... 2 years is 2 years away so les enjoy it now as much as we can.
  18. what staggering numbers... yeah the spurs are amazing at home but they are plenty amazing everywhere. Crowd helps but these are pro's not college athletes who let the crowd raddle them.. In the playoffs homecourt is more important but not so much regular season with the exception most of the time you dont have to travel which is a big help but like i said 5 times it wasnt the case this game.
  19. i think he was saying in a couple of years... kind of like the suns.. players can only take a hardass like Skiles for so long.
  20. home court is huge when you are there ahead of time and the other team has to travel.. In this case vs the Pistons even though they were playing at Home they had to travel there just like we did since their last game was away.
  21. if you look at my original post i never said it wasnt important i just said it isnt as important as it used to be or like it is in college basketball.
  22. i think Ben already has hit the rookie wall.
  23. lol it looks like she hit the back of her head and all the guys are celebrating
