  1. Happy Birthday, Big Hurt! Come back soon!
  2. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ May 26, 2005 -> 07:01 PM) Actually, there was strong interest in the Clemens camp. Shueler nixed it because he thought Clemens was done. Clemens went on to Toronto on the cheap and the rest is history. Good history....Eight more yrs of rock solid pitching after '97 (Three of them with 20 wins) and 4 more Cy Young Awards....Yeah Schueler, the Rocket was done....Done cementing his Hall of Fame career
  3. KW so far....I'll never forgive Schueler for not signing Clemens back in the 90s because he was too "old"....If we had KW then, Kenny would have signed the Rocket!
  4. I'm frustrated with Crede's bat too but I have no problem with his defense and I'm sure neither do the Sox pitchers....Let's wait till Frank comes back for Joe to come around....I truly believe the Big Hurt's presence in the lineup will have a good "ripple" effect on everyone....Maybe then, Joe will start heating up and if he doesn't, at least there's a solid glove at 3B....
  5. The Score just reported Michael Barrett has a sore shoulder and Henry Blanco will prolly start all 3 games....I remember Blanco killing the Sox last yr as a Twin and is a good defensive catcher so I hope the Sox pitching staff doesn't ignore this guy and let him get going
  6. Enjoy the well deserved day off guys and get ready to kick some Cub ass at the world's largest urinal!
  7. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ May 17, 2005 -> 02:43 PM) Even with these losses you just gotta say that we're 27-12......and think about that. Then shutup. This team can afford some downtime in my book, even though yesterday should have been a W. What a cold, miserable way to spend a night at the cell last night. The weekend was pretty bad too! If the weather was nice, Sat nite would have been sold out and Sun would have close to one too....The starters are just going through a funk, when Frank comes back, the Sox will be A-OK
  8. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ May 17, 2005 -> 01:11 PM) How about Brian Anderson? Drop Timo's useless ass and bring up Brian Anderson...any takers? Can we keep Timo on as a bunting coach at least? He is the best drag bunter on the team, among his many talents.
  9. You know you're a die hard when your fiancee has to leave you alone after a Sox loss (Like the last two nights )
  10. I think a 2 week rehab down in Charlotte would be perfect for Frank to get his batting eye and swing in sync....Then when Frank comes off the DL, pencil him at 3, start Everett in RF vs a right hander with Dye off the bench in the 8th as a defensive replacement or pinch hitter and if a lefty is starting, start Dye in RF game with Carl to pinch hit in the 8th or 9th....To me, Frank will be that one thing that sparks the Sox to an '04 Cardinals style runaway
  11. I don't bother watching Baseball Tonight because all the analysts have no idea what the hell they're talking about and Peter Gammons only talks about the Red Sox....I think if they dropped everyone but Karl Ravech, the show would be 100% better! No need to give opinions on why the Yankees suck right now or why the Red Sox are great, just show the friggin' baseball highlights of that night and keep it that way! I think we baseball fans would pick up on who's hot and who's not just from those highlights and the box scores....No need to hear opinions from a quitter (Kruk), a clueless man (Reynolds), a fired manager (Bowa) and a Red Sox season ticket holder (Gammons)....
  12. CODE Carl Everett B (Great RBI count and Twins' killa!) Paul Konerko C+ (Hitting the ball hard, just not finding the holes YET) Ross Gload INC (Not enuff games) Willie Harris C+ (Doing well in limited role so far and played decent SS) Tadahito Iguchi B+ (Adjusting well to America, just needs to hop turning a DP) Juan Uribe B- (Rock solid defense, needs to have better batting eye) Joe Crede C (Rock solid defense, needs to maintain a consistent swing) A.J. Pierzinski B (Great signal caller and a tough out) Chris widger B (Also good signal caller and a tough out as well) Scott Podsednik B (Defense solid and getting OB consistently, needs to drive ball in gaps for more doubles and triples) Aaron Rowand C (Good D, finding his way to RF, which will lead to higher AVG) Jermaine Dye D (Defense disappointing along with bat, sit out when Frank comes back) Timo Perez B (Solid late inning replacement and a Twins' Killa) Pablo Ozuna B (Has provided clutch hits and gives bench more speed) Mark Buerhle B+ (Innings eater and keeps defense in game, needs to make better pitches when count is in his favor) Freddy Garcia B (Rock solid, needs to throw fastball more to set up breaking stuff) Jose Contreras C+ (Same as Garcia, throw fastball more to set up that devastating splitter) Orlando Hernandez B (Gets into jams but gets outta them) Jon Garland A (Unbelievable, has mixed Buehrle's pace with El Duque's moxie) Cliff Polite B (Solid so far) Neal Cotts C (Needs to throw Strike 1 more) Luis Vizcaino C (Like Garcia, throw fastball more to set up good breaking stuff) Damaso Marte B+ (So far, so good) Dustin Hermanson A (Tough gritty durable worker) Shingo Takatsu C (Needs to throw Strike 1 or the Sox are in deep s*** in 9th)
  13. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 10:09 PM) Perfect time for A.J. to bail on the pitch and let Hunter get hit in his vagina. First time I've laughed all day! I think for the first pitch in the 9th, AJ should have not caught the ball and let it hit the umpire
  14. I want to see a PH for Dye NOW Ozzie....Not Friday, not yesterday but right f***ing now!
  15. For the TV guys, is Ozzie in the dugout? If he is, is he awake? And if he's that, WHY THE HELL ISN'T HE CALLING HIT AND RUNS CONSIDERING THE SOX HAVE GROUNDED INTO 5 DOUBLE PLAYS TODAY?!?!?
  16. I think I'd platoon Gload/Perez in RF and roll with whoever gets hot and keep Everett at DH till Frank comes back....Move up Rowand and Crede to 5/6 slots and bat the platoon at 8th with Uribe at 9....Either way, I'll puke Fri nite if I even see Dye in the lineup, let alone in the 5th slot
  17. On a 2- 0 pitch, Dye swings at it :banghead Ozzie, no more of Jermaine f***ing Dye in the 5 spot! :puke
  18. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 07:43 PM) Jermaine "Rally killer" DEAD strikes again. Strikes out that is. Agreed, enuff of Dye in the 5 hole....Move him down to 9th cuz at least Crede and Aaron are putting the ball into play....I'd rather see Timo out in RF than Dye at this point
  19. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 05:45 PM) Harris as DH?! Are you s***ting me? Dye sat the other day. He's due for a big day and he needs to play his way through his current slump. Not tonight against Harden....I have a gut feeling Timo will take him deep tonight!
  20. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 03:49 PM) This game is going to be a sheer joy to watch. I agree! Tonight's one of those games where it almost feels like Gm 1 of the playoffs! Let's go Mark and
  21. QUOTE(UC76 @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 04:05 PM) Nothing against Frank, but this news actually makes me a little happy. As good as Frank is I'd rather not risk the good vibes. Frank always says he has changed but I don't think he ever does. Frank not coming back soon shouldn't make you a little happy....Granted, the Sox are on a roll BUT our 3-4-5 hitters can't keep going 2 - 45 in a series over the long haul nor in a playoff series when every hit counts....When Frank DOES come back, he's gonna make the middle of the order potent and it'll carry the Sox to later series wins and hopefully, a postseason run
  22. The one thing for sure, the home plate umpire sucks today....That pitch to Rowand in the 1st wasn't a strike, same to Dye in the 3rd :puke
  23. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 09:37 PM) Ugh -- Wilbon is making Frank out like the bad guy on ESPN on Pardon the Interruption... :headshake Wilbon's the last person to say anything about the Sox (Or ESPN for that matter) since he's admitted so many times on the show that he's a Cub fan and that they're the only baseball team in Chicago so :finger Wilbon
