  1. He was just doubling over with laughter after the beating we put on the Royals...
  2. QUOTE(sweatpants @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 11:03 AM) I have been a White Sox fan the last 20 years and my favorite player since 1990 was Frank Thomas. I collected all his cards and magazine covers, but I don't know if this has been discussed before, but doesn't it seem like when Frank is hitting well, no injuries are bothering him. When he isn't hitting well, then his injuries are nagging him. There was a article in Sports Illustrated a while back hinting Pete Sampras would try to fake in an injury in the middle of a match he's losing in a scapegoat ploy to losing to lesser foe. I do know Frank is hurt, but could he be embelishing it a little bit because he's hitting so bad(average wise)? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Are you even a Sox fan... I'm sorry but your lucky you aren't getting flamed worse...
  3. How about an hour and a half perfect game... Too much to ask...
  4. I don't like our chances in this game... That Lima time scares me...
  5. I'm sorry but did you really need the racist comment... I mean refering to them as Jew whatevers... I mean not only is it not accurate but it could offend alot of people. I just don't get why that was included.... AND GREAT JOB SOX!!!! We need to stay on the attack tomarrow...
  6. If Garcia is out there for the 7th then Ozzie should be tarred and feathered... he doesn't have his good stuff, you got 6 innings out of him, we're even winning... JUST GET HIM THE HECK OUT OF THERE!
  7. What on earth is wrong with Garcia... He might not be hurt but theres something wrong with him...
  8. Something is wrong with Freddy.... Simple as that...
  9. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 08:55 PM) I'm sure someone is going to flame you for that one. Oh, and is Griffey washed up just like Schmidt? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not quite... but his contract makes him a far worse gamble... ...and anyone who would flame me for fact is a moron...
  10. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 08:47 PM) Lugo is stone hands at SS. We should of kept Jose Valentin if we trade for Lugo. Get Vizquel, he is the type of bat we need. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The difference between Jose and Lugo is that lugo is actually able to make contact with the ball on a consistant basis, get on base at a decent rate, and doesn't strike out near as much... But other then all that he's just like Jose Valentin... Yes his defense leaves something to be desired but at least he won't be burdening us in 2 years with declining numbers...
  11. What is the deal with you guys wanting Griffey... I mean last time I checked this isn't 1998... The only way this deal makes sense for us is if we are sure that Thomas isn't going to come back... Defensively he's sure as heck not an upgrade over AROW or anyone we have. However all this talk is moot because lucky for us JR is cheap and there is no way in heck he would agree to take on that contract. Hell would freeze over first... I just don't see the Reds picking enough of it up either to even make it would while... I agree this is one of the dumber pie in the sky trade ideas you guys have come up with...
  12. I still say the Sox should go after Lugo long before they think about Vizquel.... If we could dump him after this year i'd say go for it but that third year just isn't worth it...
  13. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 06:22 PM) I could care less how interesting he makes it as long as he gets the job done. That's why i was actually ok With Koch when he was actually saving games because he got the job done. If you don't like it, don't watch. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You must have a different memory then I do because I hardly remember him "getting the job done" when closing games... As for what Hermy... we could be far worse off...
  14. I just wanted to say that it was nice to see Ross back in the lineup today and getting a clutch double... We could of done without that brain cramp on the bases but other then that good job
  15. QUOTE(longshot7 @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 04:26 PM) He pitched in all 4 games in this series, right? Maybe he was tired. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I guess what worries me more then the lack of velocity was the fact that he was almost no where near the plate... Glad Ozzie had the short leash this time though...
  16. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 04:25 PM) Like I said earlier. Contreras was going to come out and do the damn thing. He did it. f*** Boston, f*** the Red Sox, f*** their fans. This is Chicago ho's, we don't play that "Let's Go Red Sox" s*** in our house. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That did piss me off hearing people cheering that at the end of the game... What a bunch of morons!
  17. Happy about the win... Great job by Jose... But what on earth was wrong with Marte... I mean that deal is looking better and better, thats if the Marlins even still want it... Iguchi had a great game though...
  18. Burnett is not going to replace Jose unless KW decides to use him at closer.... The only way KW should consider this deal is if he: A) Knows El Duque is hurt and isn't going to last the season, shut him down basically. B) Can flip him to the Phillies for Wagner like a human hot potato... I'm sorry but no way is this guy worth 10 mil a year after not doing ANYTHING worthwhile in the majors... I mean how do these guys get so much hype without doing anything... I mean he doesn't even have a hot wife like Benson so whats the deal....
  19. Could you imagine if Shingo signed with the Cubs, became their closer, and delivered them the wildcard? Wow thats a bad thought...
  20. QUOTE(Whitesox4ever @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 11:25 AM) How about this deal Sox would send to Fla B Mac Damaso Marte Ryan Sweeney Count for Aj Burnett Alex Gonzalez G Mota <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That deal is absolutely retarded... First off why would they give us Mota when they are trying to improve their pen... It makes no sense.... As for the real trade idea I would absolutely love the deal that gets Wagner here... Lets face is Marte isn't anywhere near what he usually is this year and his arm is still an issue.... BMAC is still just a prospect... Burnett wouldn't be a replacement for Jose more then he would be insurance for an injuried El Duque in my opinion but as long as El Duque is healthy then Wagner could do alot for this team..

    Pajamas

Just whatever clothes I have on.... I don't own one pair of PJ's... If it's really hot underwear but otherwise just my clothes...
  22. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 10:43 AM) If Frank misses the rest of the year (I don't know the extent of his injury but I'm assuming its more minor than anything) than my belief is that you've already seen his final game in a White Sox uniform. There is absolutely no reason why the Sox should agree to that option. The best thing they can do is buy that contract out. If they want him, they can renegotiate and sign him to a different deal (Personally I wouldn't). If I were GM Frank would of been dealt two years ago at the deadline. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Which is exactly why all Sox fans should be glad your not the GM... Frank should retire in a White Sox uniform as a sign of respect... I'm not saying break open the bank for him but after the 3.5 million dollar buyout giving him a new contract for about 1.5 to 3 million certainly wouldn't hurt anything. He is a hall of famer and deserves to retire as a White Sox...
  23. Your so totally right... While we're at it we need to get rid of that Garland guy too... He should have like 20 wins by now if he hadn't of lost us those games... And that Aaron Rowand totally sucks, he only has 7 HR's, and Iguchi can go too... his batting average is too low... and don't forget that Pods guy, he has no HR's at all. Get rid of em all...
  24. QUOTE(forrestg @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 10:46 PM) Absolutely, I love Frank too and appreciate what he's did for the sox but I have this feeling that Frank has turned into Maglio Junior. If we can handle it without frank until he's ready so be it he deserves a play from us. He's not going anywhere. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'd like to see you try to explain this one... It is a ridiculous statement for 3 reasons... 1) Frank is much older then Mags 2) I doubt Frank is going to be looking for the most money possible this offseason, just something fair and reasonable. 3) Frank has done far more for this team and the game of baseball overall then Maggs could ever hope to do if he played another 20 years.... As for him coming back healthy I think after he gets some rest he will be back next month.... We need him back as soon as possible... He is the greatest player in franchise history after all...
