I still have nightmares about being owned by Lima last time around... we better crush him this time to the point that he soils himself on the mound...
-
Seriously give them all playing time against the Royals...
-
I want a sig that has Willie Harris in a pimp suit and hat and Aaron Rowand... Just wanted to see if anyone thought it was possible...
-
I haven't watched many cub games, but from the ones i've seen Len and Bob make the broadcast as exciting as paint drying... I mean Chip Carrey wasn't even that bad...
-
I still say Timo could be a .300 hitter if he wasn't so lazy 70 % of the time... Instead he chooses to be "clutch"...
-
I think it's suicide to go with a pitcher who obviously hasn't had his best stuff all year just because he's more experienced... He's obviously not the same El Duque he was years ago with the Yankees... It's fairly obvious that he's not going to be starting in the post season regardless. I'm not saying to even start BMAC in the playoffs... But i'd feel alot more comfortable with BMAC coming out of the pen then Jose or El Duque... Unless Jose totally falls apart again my vote goes for Jose to be the 4th starter in the playoffs... BMAC the long reliever... and El Duque going on the DL with a shoulder problem so you can put Bajaneru on the post season roster to back up Hermy... Maybe thats just a fantasy but it's alot better then El Duque coming out of the pen in the playoffs...
-
I have to agree... Pine tar doesn't give him a 100 MPH fastball... I can't imagine why he'd need to cheat or why he'd risk it...

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 02:47 PM) Timo is a major contributor in the clubhouse, there is no denying that. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Did anyone watch the ESPN broadcast... Those two clown announcers were listing guys that Timo had but under his wing and one of them said Damaso Marte... Doesn't Marte actually have more experience then Timo... I mean he's hardly just some kid...
-
Well even if BMAC isn't as sharp it's still better then going to war with a tired El Duque... I mean in Texas he was fine through 5... but as soon as he got close to that 100 pitch mark they just starting teeing off on him like batting practice... I'd sure hate to see that in the playoffs...
-
I have a better idea... drop Orlando out of the rotation... just start BMAC... Seriously if BMAC is going to keep pitching like this it makes no sense to even leave El Duque on the playoff roster...
-
Bad BMac blessing in disguise ?
AngelasDaddy0427 replied to CaliSoxFanViaSWside's topic in Pale Hose Talk
If i'm KW i'm seriously considering leaving El Duque off the playoff roster... Make him like the Count's personal pitching coach or something... Seriously if BMAC keeps this up Orlando will be out of a job next year... Ohh and to whoever thinks that we should keep El Duque instead of Count.... Why on earth wouldn't you want to keep the guy who's stayed healthy... at least you know with El Duque that theres always a willing trade partner in the Yankees for him... Besides that Count has the stuff to dominate teams, El Duque has to rely on his brains but even then the stuff sometimes just isn't there to back him up... BMAC.... YES!!!! -
Yeah because i'm not a member of the Ross Gload fan club... Seriously not all of us have to cream our pants over a AAAA first basemen...

QUOTE(the southside tiger @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 06:13 PM) Every review Ive ever heard of Pittsburgh was rather unflattering. Youre the first Ive met to actually have liked that place. Which is it, s***hole or shan gri la? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If you've ever been to Gary, Indiana you should have some idea what Pittsburgh is like... It's another one of those steel towns thats been on the decline...

What an awesome game by Jon... win #17 with his second 4 hit shutout of the Tigers... Now just rattle off 3 more wins at least... -
Konerko a finalist for Hank Aaron Award

Konerko a finalist for Hank Aaron Award

Now I could of sworn that I heard about the Yankees making signing Derrick Lee their top priority... -
I honestly wouldn't mind taking a chance on Nomar next year... He could come cheap... give him an incentive laden contract... Low risk high reward type move... He would come a heck of alot cheaper then Furcal, would sign a one year deal, and gives Uribe a year in the super sub type role he thrived in... Of course you also need to find a new 1B, maybe it wouldn't be such a bad idea to play one of our kids from the minors... Also for the person who said they'd rather keep Orlando then Jose for next year... HAVE YOU EVEN WATCHED ANY SOX BASEBALL THIS YEAR!!!! I'd sure as heck rather keep the one who hasn't spend so much time on the DL...

Konerko a finalist for Hank Aaron Award
AngelasDaddy0427 replied to Gene Honda Civic's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I honestly think the Cubs are going to be our biggest competition when it comes to resigning Paulie.. D. Lee is as good as gone with the Yanks being quoted as saying they are going to offer him a massive contract... I could definately see them trying to outbid us for our team leader in a PR move... -
I'm just thankful it's coinciding with Willie Harris riding a hot streak...
-
He can't pick balls in the dirt as good as Konerko... On a team that has Juan Uribe at SS... The only reason he has one error is because he hasn't seen anywhere near as much time at that position... Anyone who called Willie Harris selfish over his comments that supports Gload's whining is a hypocrite and the worst kind of one...
-
Ohhh poor Ross Gload... Seriously he was down in the minors because his defense sucks. Simple as that. On a team built on pitching and defense you can't have a suspect glove covering at first... He should of been up as a DH maybe but I can imagine why they wouldn't want to carry such a one demensional player around...
-
Well on the bright side Bruce is always wrong.... So if he says no ones coming then it's exactly the time someone will come...

Griffey Jr.: 'I'm not going' to the White Sox
AngelasDaddy0427 replied to greasywheels121's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Well if your not willing to give up what the Reds were quoted themselves as asking for him, then this talk is all moot because he wouldn't be coming anyway... By the way i'm not advocating trading Mark Buherle for KGJ, I was just making a point... You can't expect to get someone like that for some prospects that might never see day light... If you want a real talent you have to give up real talent... -
I like knowing that you guys are going to crack down on the personal attacks. However that is really only one of the many problems that have plagued this site lately. I realize that the Sox might not have the biggest track record of success lately, but it's almost sickening that you can come on a White Sox fan site and see so much negativity directed at the team. Now I'm not talking about guys like Fathom, I at least respect him because he always stays consistant with his opinions even if I don't agree with him. I'm talking about the ones that change their minds at the drop of a hat. ...and before one of you has a chance to point it out yes I was guilty of not being the most positive person myself for the first 6 months or so that I joined the site, but I was far from bashing a first place team into the ground. I'd like to think that I was at least consistant in my opinions. I'm just so darn sick of seeing the same people who bash the offense and demand KGJ when we lose praise the offense and act like were world beaters when we win.

Griffey Jr.: 'I'm not going' to the White Sox
AngelasDaddy0427 replied to greasywheels121's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Heres an idea to through out there for all of you people who want Griffey so bad... Our offense is one of the worst in baseball no doubt... It's time to give the Reds what they really want. It's obvious that they are holding out for a front line pitcher.... If it's true that Mark Buherle cleared waivers then give make the deal.... Mark Buherle for Ken Griffey Jr... Even if Mark can manage to step up in the playoffs it's going to do us no good when we're scoring only 2 runs a game... I like Mark as much as anyone but if the Reds aren't just going to take prospects then it makes more sense then going into the playoffs with such a pathetic lineup... Even if Brandon sucks it hard for the rest of the year as a 5th starter at least he can be moved into the pen for the playoffs... Anyone else have any thoughts on this?
