I wouldnt mind having Finley around for a year or two. I love Garland, but he isnt getting the job done right now. We can pick up Finley and trade Garland for some offense, how does that sound?

We hit about .285 tonight. not great, but a lot better than the last few games. It's not about getting hits though, it's about getting hits that matter. We hit .285 and only managed one run? Shows how good our situational hitting is. We can sure bunch together hits when we need it. :fyou Ward

Lugo was a decent leadoff man for the Astros, and he will consistently put up a .260 average. He's also been bothered with injuries. If we pick up Lugo I will be seriously pissed. I'm tired of management going around picking up controversial s***ty players with bad reputations. And that in turn brings a bad reputation to the team.

Spurs have got to stop the late Laker surges. I'm about to have a heart attack every time in the 4th quarter.

Its amazing, when I first joined, there were about 5 or 6 new threads per day. And now I check back every 24 hours, and theres at least a whole page of new threads.

Jason, I really like that Ramon Vazquez kid in San Diego. I'm not too high on Kotsay, hes definately better than what we have now, but with Borchard in AAA, I'm not sure if we should acquire him.

If we're truly giving up this season, build the team around guys like Olivo, Crede, Maggs, Buerhle, Marte. Get young, fundamental guys that hustle, play defense, and give the game their all. And you know what they always say, pitching and defense wins World Series. I would unload Konerko, Lee, Thomas (though probably no one's willing to take him), Colon, Koch, White, and Flash eventually over the next couple of seasons. But do it smoothly so there will always be some veterans on the team. I would say we could get some good prospects for that bunch. And after we have a good, fundamentally sound team on our hands, then and only then, we can start talking World Series all over again.

I'm fine with the DH in one league and pitcher in another. I think it distincts the leagues and creates two different styles, which I like. Just don't waste Mike Hampton's power in the AL.

Rafael Palmeiro, one of the most underrated player in the game, became the 19th member of the 500 HR club. The big argument, though, is whether he should be a Hall of Famer. He has consistently put up huge seasons, is SOLID with the glove, but has failed to lead his team to good seasons. imo, its a shame that there should even be an argument, I think its just the fact that he is one of THE most underrated and unnoticed in the game. He is just as elite as any other player in the Hall of Fame.

Fact is, he won't have much speed to run with. He won't have the Castillo speedsters to work with, and it might end up hurting our offense even more. What we need to do right now is get some speedy young guys with heart.
