Frank is doing fine. I don't have one problem with him taking walks. A walk is as good as a hit, and with all these guys swinging for the fences, I'm glad to know that he is willing to take a free pass.

I would love to get Kotsay, but that lineup doesn't look much improved from what we have now. I say we go for some talented young guys that can fire things up, if not for this season, for the future.

DLo needs to be benched today, and tomorrow. I'm tired of this no-consequence managing. If a guy doesnt give a f*** and drops a damn popup for 3 unearned runs, you gotta bench him. Look at the Astros, Julio Lugo was doing fine as their leadoff hitter. And then he beats his wife and they RELEASH him the next day.

Tim Worrell's doing a heck of a job in place of Nen. Worrell has good stuff but he doesnt have one outstanding pitch that he can keep throwing. Lets see how he does in the World Series. The Giants are so far the only team that can be compared to (and be competitive against) the Yankees.

Jason, one of the mods should create a link to the chatroom somewhere on the soxtalk homepage. People wouldn't have to go around searching for the link. It would be a lot easier on everyone. Just a suggestion.

I finally finished reading this 10 page thread, which took me about an hour. oldroman...lets just see how things work out once KW is gone and if JM changes his style at all. Then we'll know who was calling the shots and whether JM needs to be canned.

I'd say Rocco Baldelli would be a sure starter if he continues half of what hes doing right now. Fans gotta love his name, and that will earn him a lot more recognition than someone like Garrett Anderson (whos tearing up pitching) or Maggs.

The winner of the All-Star game gets home-field advantage in the World Series?! Does he know how important homefield advantage is?? It's way too important to be depended on an exhibition game that only contending teams' players will try in. And in the years before this, homefield advantage was switched back and forth between leagues? What a joke. It should strictly be based on who had the best regular-season record. That's it.

Who's REALLY the problem? You can't single it down to one person, its the whole team thats struggling.

Firing JM would sure be nice. But I still don't think we have the right type of players that can get fired up. We still have too many slow runners, clubhouse troublemakers, and selfish hitters on the team. At some point I believe we'll just need start letting our current players go and start all over again with guys that have heart.

I say we pack up Koch and send him somewhere right now while he still has some value. We should pack up Konerko while we're at it. We could get a good number 3 guy for them and maybe even prospect or two. And call me crazy, but I think Dan Wright should become our closer. He has good stuff, but he kinda tires out in the later innings. I think he could a solid, dominant closer.
