QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 08:14 PM) TJ Ford is back, ladies and gentlemen. 10 assists, 8 points, and 6 rebounds with a little over 4 minutes to go. He ended the game on 4-10 shooting, 8-9 from the line, 16 points, 9 rebounds, 14 assists, and five turnovers. Turned it over a little too much but he is one of the best pure point guards in the league when he is healthy. The bucks have a bright future ahead of them.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 10:03 PM) So this is kind of what it was like during the 90's for the fans of any team not named the Bulls, huh? San Antonio at this point in time can not be stopped. San antonio is not unstoppable. Three teams in the east can beat them in a seven game series when at full strength.

QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 08:12 PM) Yeah, Webber is having one hell of a game. With 6 minutes to go in the 4th quarter: 28 Points 57% Shooting 13 Rebounds 5 Assists 2 Blocks 1 Steal Andrew Bogut is going to have a loooong year at the 4. If some random asshole such as myself can see that his feet are too slow for the position, why can't an NBA team figure that out? Agree, he will still get some time in at the five. Anyway, he has way too good of hands to be a bust. He will be one of the top centers in the nba within a couple years imo.

QUOTE(JimH @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 07:51 PM) Totally disagree but what someone else stated rings true, the World Championship matters and not much else. Rowand had seven less assists this year ( only three this year compared to seven in 2004). He also had 84 more put outs this year than 2004. His arm was too weak this year while dye's was too strong. Rowand would bury the ball into the pitchers mound while dye would over throw everyone and anyone.

I do not appreciate the lololol's. I never did that before and i was proud of that fact. Now that i have there is no reason for me to continue posting on soxtalk.

Post whatever you like in this thread nab related. Anyway... i started this thread because webber looks as good as ever. He looks like he was back in his prime. He is running all over the place without the limp and moving good. He already has 26-12-4 to start the fourth quarter. Bogut has been facialized two times this game. Once by iggy and the other by webber. Webber went up for a dunk... adjusted his balls right on bogut's face, then continued to throw down the dunk. It was sick.

Othella harrington and chris duhon join kirk hinrich as captains this season. But what is gonna happen if this goes through? Four captains? That would be retarded. Btw, pike got robbed.

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 05:41 PM) I know for a fact he did take a drug and that is part of what caused his heart troubles. Be funny if by chance someone with curry was reading this ( not gonna happen) and they sued you for such an outlandish comment. -
QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 03:16 AM) Eh, if you compare Jeter's and Uribe's fielding stats it looks like Jeter was a bit better. Gold gloves are a sham anyways. The guy with the better offensive stats or the bigger name will almost always win. If Cabrera hadn't put up such garbage offensive numbers, he would have won it. Uribe was definately one of the best defensive shortstops in the A.L. though. That's good to know. Uribe had 9.3 defensive win shares ( i am saying it is the best in baseball because catchers are always at the top. Jeter comes in at six win shares. The sox were the only team to have two players int he top ten when it coems to defensive win shares ( rowand and uribe). His rate and frar were better... basically every single defensive stat he was superior than jeter. In all reality it is not very close... but like you said offense is what wins these things. Uribe was the best shortstop in the american league and arguably the best in baseball ( but most people cannot look past errors and only look at range factor and zone ratings to tell them what kinda fielder a player is).

QUOTE(qwerty @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 05:05 PM) Kenji johjima is the best hitter in japan at this point and time and will likely come over this season. He is a pretty damn good contact hitter and he is just getting better with age ( much like iguchi).

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 02:48 AM) Ichiro wants out of Seattle? http://www.insidebayarea.com/davedelgrande/ci_3164136 "DATELINE: In front of Bonds. The baseball off-season has gotten off to a very quiet start in Seattle. Too quiet. Rumor has it Ichiro has grown tired of the Mariners' losing ways and wants out, but Seattle-area reporters aren't publicizing it because they like dealing with the Japanese hitting star on a daily basis. They're hoping the All-Star changes his mind before his request for a trade becomes a demand. Believe it: The Mariners are accepting offers right now for the standout leadoff hitter, and the price is only going to go up if/when Ichiro's true feelings about wanting out become public, prompting more teams to get Bill Bavasi on the phone." If this is true would you give up Garland, Rowand, and prospects for Ichiro? Then, you could throw Anderson in center field, Ichiro in right field, and use Dye as DH. Ichiro is the least of our needs and ''demanding a trade'' is laughable. The player has no say in whether he is traded or not. Guess what? If he is not traded he will end up showing up and playing anyway. I only want to trade garland ( or any of our pitching for that matter ) for a bat in the 3-5 hole range. Ichiro is an espensive and aging player that will bat in a place we do not need a large upgrade ( and i hate podsednik). Say no to ichiro!

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 08:08 PM) Sure everything else says during the season is retarded and Kruk is an idiot... but when he says something positive about us a course he is right? Im not sure if you were one of the people always on Kruk's case Qwerty just most people were... No, i like kruk. I think people here are too hard on him. I respect his opinion more than most of the other buffoons on bbtn. But i did think it was funny when he said ''crede is an up and coming superstar''.

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 01:33 AM) I want two lefties in the pen but I think Haigwood needs to work on his control a bit more before he's ready for the majors. There is really no need for lefties considering we have three guys that get them out at very high rates ( jenks, cotts, politte). But we will have a second in 2006 so it is a moot imo.
-
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 12:59 AM) Well, if you have a real good one, lefty loogy's can actually be a very nice weapon to have. I think in essence, what we're trying to say, we'll need another lefty for the pen anyway, when Marte is traded. And since Damaso was used mainly against lefties this season, why not bring in a guy who dominates against them? There's just not many lefties out there like a Neal Cotts who can do such a good job for ya. Unfortunately, Eyre the best LHRP out there, is probably going to get a nice 2 or 3 year deal. You are not telling me anything i don't know. All that i want is if we get a left handed reliever that is forces cotts into a bigger role... as i consider him the best pitcher int he pen. I also consider him to have the most potential out of the bullpen arm. I am looking for 70 plus innings from him coming at more crucial times ( like the last month or two). I still think marte will get back into form once he is with another team. I don't know if he is just that big of a head case or his neck was killing him all season... but his stuff is still as neasty as ever. His release point and form looked different compared to years past. All he does now is drop down to far and throw his slider a couple feet out of the strike zone.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 12:56 AM) Myers is an interesting situation. I tend to agree more with Rowand and SSH than qwerty on this one. The way Ozzie uses his pen, Myers will be used for 1 guy. It doesn't matter if he's the last guy in the pen in an extra inning game, because how many times where we in that type of situation in 2005? We'll most likely have 12 in the pen I'd say. Of course we could just go after Scott Eyre instead. I know he serves a purpose but i just do not like loogy's...
-
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 12:54 AM) You don't take into consideration ozzie's style of managing, whether you hate them or not Ozzie wants a loogy and he's managed like that both years he's been here. Myers would be an absolute perfect fit. Doesn't make myers suck any less.
-
QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 12:47 AM) What? Myers is good against lefties and he is perfect for Ozzie. Myers sucks against righties so let Ozzie use Myers just for a lefty or two and save Cotts for lefties and righties. I hate loogy's. If you cannot get a right hander out i do not want you on my team. If he was the last man in the pen ( extra inning game) the game would be over once he enters. Right handers absolutely obliterate him.

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 07:00 PM) I want Ben starting. Gordon has started all the pre-season games right? With duhon's condition still up in the air... i envision gordon starting.
