  1. QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 04:38 PM) If they come at him with that, he will laugh in their faces. Disagree. He will likely sign a three year 21 million dollar deal and on the high side three years 24 million.
  2. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 06:01 PM) Nice avatar. :rolly Joe's a damn solid player, he's no superstar but he was huge for this team when it counted. Kruk said crede is a superstar in the making... i tend to agree.
  3. Duhon practiced today and may be ready for the game against the bobcats...

    Gas Prices

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 05:44 PM) Just filled up on the Southside, of Louisville, for 2.09 per gallon. How are things in your neck of the woods? 2.49 in burbank illinois...

    10 Grand!

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 05:33 PM) That show pretty much sucked, not gonna lie. It must have be awful because i do not remember such a thing...
  6. I do not care if the entire offense was right handed as long as they can hit right handers well. Left handers are useless if they cannot hit right handed pitching well. Everyone says we have a need for left handed hitters... but in reality we need hitters that can hit righties... bottom line. We were one of the worst in the league in that aspect.
  7. More impressive is jason marquis. He would have been the sox best hitter this year...

  9. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 04:43 PM) I was thinking, with the impact of guys like Tadhito Iguchi, Ichiro Suzuki, and Hideki Matsui, and Shingo Takatsu for 1 year, who will be this year's big Japanese signing? I remember reading about a certain OF slugger and a starter/reliever or 2. Anyone have any info on Japanese imports for this season? Kenji johjima is the best hitter in japan at this point and time and will likely come over this season. He is a pretty damn good contact hitter and he is just getting better with age ( much like iguchi).

    Saw 2

QUOTE(SnB @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 03:50 PM) no one could have predicted how the first one ended because the ending made no f***ing sense. Made alot of sense.
  11. QUOTE(Felix @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 03:18 PM) Is Casey Rogowski close to being ready for the majors? He just doesn't have the power to make it in the big leagues imo. He only had nine homeruns in 505 at-bats in double a last season which led to his ops being in the low .800's. In other words, no.
  12. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 02:58 PM) How about a guy who fell off the radar? Erubial Durazo... (though admitedly, I don't know anything about his health status) -- I'd bring him in along with Frank. Well he got tommy john surgery around the first of september so i am figuring he will only sign an incentive laden deal. Tommy john can f*** up a hitter almost as much as it does to a pitcher. I am thinking one year deal with a base salary of 2-3 million and can make up to as much as 8 million in incentives.

    Saw 2

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 08:52 AM) If you were in a dream about Saw, you might as well just kill yourself because you'll never figure out the killer because it's the most ridiculous ending to a movie I've ever seen. I haven't seen the second, because I refuse to give it a dime after seeing the first like SS2k5, but I can tell you that the first one was f***ing terrible. The acting in both were bad ( first one was awful). But to say it was f***ing terrible is asinine. You have to expect bad acting in horror movies, it is almost a given. The ending in the first is 100x better imo than figuring out the ending 27 minutes through and wasting your time over the next hour. For every movie there are people like you that hate a movie... even if the movie is a master piece ( not saying saw is even close).
  14. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 01:19 PM) Everett won't be back and Thomas WILL be back on an incentive based 2 year deal. No reason thomas should be offered anything more than a one year juan gonzalez type deal this year.
  15. QUOTE(Frank the Tank 35 @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 02:46 PM) Talk about not investing in "aging" performers aka Konerko. People are worried his stats will start to decline when he's 32-33. Giles is ALREADY 34. He'll be 35 in January. C'mon ppls, he's not worth $10 mil at this point. I'm not saying he's not going to get it, but he's not worth it especially from the Sox. Willing to bet konerko starts decling at the same point giles does if not before. Konerko will not be putting these numbers up at the end of a five year deal ( make him the age giles is now) but giles will be putting up numbers at least as good as konerko is now.
  16. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 02:34 PM) I think Giles has to be the #1 FA target of the Sox. He's a left handed bat whose done nothing but hit and get on base his entire career. A 3 yr 24 mill deal with some incentives would be pretty fair if you ask me. His numbers could warrant bigger pay, but it doesn't seem like that many people are overly interested in him (although this is a bit premature since the FA period has yet to start). The other nice thing about Giles is that he can play all 3 outfield positions solidly and thats a nice feature. Three years 24 million would get him laughing at you. Will take at least three years 30 million for him to move here from tthe west coast... and probally even more to go to the east coast.

    Saw 2

While it was gorier than the first... having 17 characters in this one made it less exciting for me. I couldn't get into the characters as well... and it there were a good amount of slow spots until the last 15-20 minutes or so.
  18. Saturday night live is only good every other decade.
  19. QUOTE(PaHs @ Oct 30, 2005 -> 01:06 PM) Do you think they will re-sign him? Or would I be better off getting just a plain Sox jersey with no name? He will still be arbitration eligible once the contract is over... in other words he will be with the sox after next season unless traded.
  20. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Oct 29, 2005 -> 01:06 AM) El Duque is atleast 45 years old. No way in hell is that dude only 36. I'd say Contreras is around where they say El Duque is, 36yo. Hernandez is fourty. http://www.baseball-reference.com/h/hernaor01.shtml
  21. QUOTE(3E8 @ Oct 29, 2005 -> 02:36 AM) pacificly =/= specifically '' A course'' should also be ''of course''... but nooooooooooo.
  22. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Oct 29, 2005 -> 12:25 AM) I appreciate what Paulie did for this team, I really do. That said, if you can get Delgado at 12-13 over the next three vs. Paulie at 14 over the next 5-6, I think that is no longer a slam dunk. What will we have to hypothetically give up for Delgado? Good question. The Red Sox and Angels team that didn't end up with Konerko would be in. The Mets would be in but Florida would like to go out of the division if possible. Thome being out there impacts the scenario as well. I think Damaso Marte would be part of a package but it wouldn't cost AS much as one would think because Florida has to move him I am willing to bet both delgado is not traded this off-season. The marlins are not in as big of a jam as people are making it out to be. Thome on the other hand will be traded at some point during this off-season. It is nearly impossible to see howard in the outfield and abreu in center field and they will not platoon howard and him
  23. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Oct 29, 2005 -> 02:16 AM) I thought Boras wasnt pacificly Joe Crede's agent just worked in the same agency.... anyone clear that up? Boras = crede's agent and that = end of story.
  24. QUOTE(Felix @ Oct 28, 2005 -> 04:08 PM) Perhaps, but even though the Sox are World Series Champs, I'm sure that if it were Sheffield or someone, it would get more news. Not even close. Would not get half the publicity if it is a player from any other team than the white sox.
