Which Team will finish last in the central
qwerty replied to rangercal's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 12:03 PM) Davis could guard centers while Songalia can't. I think your comparing apples and oranges, but the Bulls lack a player that can defend a decent center. Chandler could turn into that guy, but its going to take some time. Chandler is nearly perfect size for a center. He is huge now. I think he might be able to defend just a decent center... maybe. -
QUOTE(danman31 @ Nov 5, 2005 -> 04:50 PM) Gotta love WGN!! Comcast is just as s***ty imo. I would probally rank comcast higher because wayne larrivee's stupid annoying ass is not on there.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 04:36 PM) Q- Seriously, tell me honestly, do you think the org would EVER let Ross Gload have a spot on the big league squad? If they realized he is out best option off the bench then yes. Until then, no.
-
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 04:27 PM) hahaha, seriously, Ross Gload...come on. You not only mentioned a player who hasnt played at the major league level, but then Ross Gload, who never will with this organization. Considering Ozzie and KW wont let Ross Gload play on the big team, no I dont think they can match what he did. Well anderson has played at the big league level...as has gload the past two seasons. But gload was supposedly injured... so he was sent to the minors. Timo on the other hand was hurt all of the 2004 season, the team knew about it, and they keep him on the major league roster.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 04:23 PM) You don't think a Ross Gload/Brian Anderson platoon could produce more than Everett's "stellar" .745 OPS? Then again, with your analysis, it's tough to argue with ya... :rolly I don't think it is a lock. I think over a full season gload would be in the .800 range while anderson would struggle to put up a .700 ops. I would be surprised if his on base percentage was over .300 to be honest with you. But i would rather get similar ( which is really not much) production to everett's for a fraction of the cost.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 03:23 PM) LA Times, CNN, couple of other places. Well... actual people that have seen it like it. Critics are not people.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 12:42 PM) The Angels are definately going to be players in the Manny sweepstakes. I don't know if this 3 way deal will work out, but that said the Angels have a couple overpriced guys they could offer for Manny. Garret Anderson would be the guy I'd do everything I could to give up in a Manny deal. Right now they appear focused on moving Erstad, but I think the Angels have both Erstad, Finley and Garret Anderson as options. In fact, If I were Anaheim I'd offer Finley, Erstad, and a good prospect or two for Manny. That or I'd offer Anderson and a quality prospect or two for Manny. Boston seems desperate and if the Angels were smart they'd take this as an opportunity to get the best run producer the game has ever seen as well as unload some of the dumb contracts they handed out. Plus, technically speaking Boston is going to need a CFer and Finley will play better than he did this past year. Erstad is a gritty, solid player so they could fill two holes. Problem is thats a lot of money for them to take on, but in the long run they'd save a lot. Wells makes perfect sense since he has asked to be traded back to thw west coast. I was thinking the padres would get him back ( and still do) but now that this three team deal has come up it makes some sense. I still really doubt the red sox sign konerko anyway. Like i said yesterday, konerko will sign with a team that gives him some sort of no trade clause... once that happens other red sox players no trade clauses would kick in. The red sox would be hurting themselves much more than helping themselves... in the long and short run.

QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 03:12 PM) ALSO, Glaus could play first, because the Carmines also have the Greek God of Ops (even though he isn't greek) in Kevin Youkilis. Greek god of walks... just to clear things up.

QUOTE(Felix @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 03:48 PM) Not sure which Piazza you are talking about, but if its Mike, I highly doubt he'd be cheap. Well depends what you consider cheap... What's with all the rave about this widger guy anyway?

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 01:38 AM) Do you think the Bulls are better of defensively in the front court with Sweeney and Songalia at PF? Songo is a better defender than davis is at this point in his career and i view sweetney and curry as basically a wash defensively. We are better imo ... but it is by a very slight margin. -
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 01:35 AM) Still do you want to trade for a guy who makes $8M and COULD go back to those numbers, or someone like Tracy or Howard who put better power numbers in 2005 and are MUCH cheaper? It'll depend on what Cinci want, but I'd assume Griffey would be our 1st target if we'd trade with them. I really could care less about casey. While he is generally underated he is still overpayed imo. Tracy will not be moved and you are gonna waste an entire winter talking about him. He makes the least sense to be moved on the diamondbacks out of anyone.

QUOTE(knightni @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 11:10 PM) Inside scoring and rebounding will suffer with no Davis and Curry. We will still rebound plenty. Putting the ball in the basket on the other hand will be a problem. -
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 08:05 PM) Probably not. Man I'm getting qwerty like in my posts. Ugh. :banghead Was that really needed? :finger
