QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Sep 12, 2005 -> 11:35 PM) appreciate the numbers before that 2001 season. They were Sick! He was not on them before 2001? Find that hard to believe... i bet he starter prior to the 2000 season.

    QUOTE(Stocking @ Sep 12, 2005 -> 10:37 PM) He is amazing He is on roids/ was.
  3. I have never liked the ozzie guillen signing. I really did/do not like the ozzie guillen extension only partially through the season? It's not like he is the greatest manager to ever be apart of the mlb and we do not want him possibly leaving via free agency. He has proved very little in his managerial career to get an extension so quickly... the white sox jumped the gun you could say.

    Crash

I felt that this thread should be bumped now that more peopel should have seen it by now. Only thing i really have to say is... i hope this movie makes michael pena HUGE. He actually has range and he does not have to play the ''gangbanger'' any longer. He made the movie for me.
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 12, 2005 -> 01:34 AM) Well said. One of the many reasons that if the Titantic sinks, the captain of the ship needs to go down with it. If the Sox fail to make the playoffs this season, I don't know how anyone could want Ozzie back. Maybe because it would be hard to find someone that is a better in game manager? Bet you never though of that one, eh?
  6. QUOTE(rangercal @ Sep 12, 2005 -> 12:12 AM) Frank loves stats and loves money. I say an incentive-laden contract would be a better option than adios. I am sure 75% of the white sox fan base would agree with me. I rather spend the money on someone we can rely on to play more than 100 games in a season and put up solid than a near crippple who is known to be cancerous.
  7. QUOTE(bmags @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 12:57 AM) but that was just a screen play who knows what would've been different if he had directed it...that said i like tarrentino... and obviously to me its pulp fiction, but resevoir dogs is a lot of fun to watch just for mr. blonde and mr. pink. Those two made the movie for me. I did love kill bill v1 and v2 as well and i did like jackie brown despite how ill it as recieved. Both fans and ''critics'' responded pretty damn well to jackie brown so i don't know what you are talking about.

    Well...

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 08:38 PM) AJP hit into an amazing amount of double plays last year. We're lucky he's only hit into the amount he has so far this year. He also hit behind bonds quite often last year.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 07:41 PM) I should have added ourselves as an option. Plus, while never the number 1 factor, I think word of mouth, critics, and the buzz, has a much bigger impact then we realize. Going into a movie with the right attitude has a huge effect on how much you like it. What critics have to say about movies in general does not effect how i feel about a movie going into it. I go into all movies with an open mind. I have looked back on a whole bunch of movies on rottentomatoes.com and those critics are unbelievable when it comes to some very good movies.
  10. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 07:40 PM) We've agreed to disagree on this. Don't think this last week of awful attendance didn't give JR every excuse possible to not raise payroll this offseason. He has several years in a row. What is your reason to believe it won't happen once more?
  11. QUOTE(JimH @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 07:09 PM) Well, Bruce Levine said he was late to today's game and got sent home. But nobody here believes Bruce Levine anyway. Right? Even a blind squirrel...
  12. Yes, we are cutting marte and not putting him on the playoff roster. :rolly

  14. Just so you know insidehoops is wrong every other day about something. They have very little connections, if any... they are just a site made up by fans. I find it extremely hard that insidehoops would be breaking such a big story.
  15. The nuggets have supposedly been looking to resign nene ( even after all the talks of them wanting to dump him for practically nothing during the season?) and he is looking for more money than chandler got.

  17. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 10:28 PM) Cool to see Joe Jackson and Eddie Collins both on there. Even cooler to see mel stottlemyre imo...
  18. QUOTE(Soxfest @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 10:29 PM) Hindsight is 20/20 if he was here he might not of got hurt at all nobody knows so i do not give KW credit for what happened at all You have blind hate for kenny williams at this point. Sox would need to win two or three world seriosu before a select few of you would give him props and say he did just a decent job.
  19. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 10:12 PM) What is this problem of which you speak? We have the second best bullpen ERA in the league and the best save % in the league. Ozzie makes some dumb moves from time to time, but with numbers like those, he's doing something right. Thinking because you can throw the ball with your left hand you can automatically get out left handed batters at a high rate. Why do you think walker was ever on this team? Because of his over whelming skill? He takes out jenks tonight and brings in marte who has been obliterated against lefties... jenks has done very well against them... sure it's a small sample size. But that is something ozzie does daily. Jason is my witness that i was b****ing at ozzie for bringing in marte at that particular time ( he was pissed too). If you really cannot recall all of his miscues i can go through game logs and refresh your memory. Just because we have the second best bullpen era in the league and the best save percentage doesn't mean he gets a free pass and doesn't mean that the players have picked him up [/i]alot.
  20. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 10:00 PM) This says otherwise. 2002 vs lefties: .149 BAA, 0.82 WHIP. 2003 vs lefties: .168 BAA, 0.85 WHIP. 2004 VS lefties: .143 BAA, 0.86 WHIP Don't even try to fight me on this one, Qwerty. He was not strickly a lefty specialist... that is my point.
  21. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 09:52 PM) edit: can't say that anymore... carry on. Pm me what you were gonna say if you can... I am sick of it. You can't back up marte here and you also cannot call ozzie a bad manager? You cannot second guess ozzie or even question a move of his before it's done without getting smartass remarks from his backers ( sox best record in american league... hehe). Give me a break. He is a borderline awful in game manager... but i know... the sox are winning.
  22. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 09:50 PM) Are you a personal friend of Marte? The dude is supposed to be a lefty specialist. WHY CAN'T HET GET LEFTIES OUT? Marte has been average to below average for a while now. It's not like this was his first bad performance in a while. I never recall marte being a lefty specialist. He was one of the rare lefties out of the pen that could get both lefties and righties out at a ridiculous rate.
  23. We will get swept in the playoffs if ozzie continues this sort of managing the last two years now. He is beyond ridiculous. He has to look at f***ing splits and realize realize marte is far superior verse righties than lefties. He also has to realize cotts has been far superior against both righties and lefties than marte has this year. But ozzie does not look at stats... therefore the problems with the pen.
