QUOTE(knightni @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 08:23 PM) What? That's better than 2004's #5 starter experiences. I cannot stand watching him pitch. It is disgusting how he is always 2-0, 3-1, 3-0. How he has pitched as of late is what i see for the rest of the year for him. Glad he is back with us next year too.!1!1! -

Why is there a new thread on this every day?

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 08:14 PM) See this? Dye is just not a good outfielder anymore. He's sooooooo slow. And McCarthy just looks like a disaster waiting to happen today. And I'm not trying to be negative. That ball really should have and could have been caught by about anyone other than dye. -
Jonathan Givony: So does this whole “great white stiff” theory, does that give you any extra motivation to prove people wrong? Andrew Bogut: Not really, because there’s been the great black stiff too. There’s been Kwame Browns and there have been Michael Olowokandis too. Everyone forgets about those guys, but they went #1 in the draft too. That’s just the thing in America, the big white guy isn’t supposed to be as good as the big black guy. That’s something I can’t control, and I’m just going to work hard. There have been a lot of white guys who went late in the draft and turned out to be allstars. Nowitzki, Manu Ginobili, Stojakovic and so on. I really don’t have a worry in the world. I know I can play, and I don’t care what the color of my skin is. http://www.draftexpress.com/viewarticle.php?a=1011

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 07:04 PM) I don't care about polls. This thread shows why polls are pointless. You have thirteen year old kids voting for Phil Jackson, and why wouldn't they? And yes, I said I didn't want to discuss it and today I feel the same way. I wasn't alive during Red's years, your right, and no I don't study the subject constantly, but I think I have a pretty good background, and with that background came to a conclusion. I guess because you don't agree with the conclusion i've come to I'm a homer, typical. I like soxtalk, there are alot of amazing posters here, sometimes your included in that list, but there's a reason why SoSH stopped accepting applications, but thats nor here nor there. I have never said that i don't agree with you have i? You are a homer until you give a reason why auerbach is far and away the best coach ever. Not giving a reason is just ignorant in my opinion. If you didn't plan on giving a reason why post something in the first place that will just tick others off? 13 year old kids like who? The two 14-15 year olds or younger have even admitted to not knowing anything about red. Everyone else that has commented on this thread has seen plenty of phil jackson and some have probally even read up on auerbach in the past. Your 13 year old excuse is awfully lame if you ask me. The majority of the posters on real gm and bbb are over the age of 16-17 and many of them are in their twenties, thirties, fourties. One poster is even there sixties posting about basketball. Don't you think 16 years old and up can do the required research to make their case?

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 06:53 PM) There is no question in my mind who the superior coach is, so in my opinion I don't think its worth discussing, which is why I said I didn't want to discuss it. Thats all. Why even comment in the thread if you know what you said was gonna piss people off and make them curious of why you this auerbach is god?

How can someone say ''this isn't even a question...''? Are you f***ing s***ting me? This has been discussed many, many times before on all sorts of message boards, been discussed on t.v, radio, etc... Neither ever blows the other one out on polls or anything of that sort. Would it really be that hard to throw your homerism on to the side and not say ''The fact that this is even being discussed is utterly insane. I don't feel like adding anything because it will just enfuriate me more than I already am.'' The one person that has no clue about this subject is apparently you and three other boston fans in the world. I have seen numerous boston celtics fans make an arguement for red auerbach and phil jackson... none of them have ever thought it wasn't worthy of discussion. I like how you acting like soxtalk drove you away because of homerism when you are full of it yourself.

I would either like the scoring to be in the 80's low 90's or in the 100-115 range like back in the 70's and 80's. It's not even that there was alot of bad defense being played then... the game just moved much faster.

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 04:52 AM) They don't need to upgrade to be improved next season. A healty Baron Davis single handedly makes them better. Troy Murphy, when healthy, is a double/doublr machine. Richardson and Dunleavy are good players who are improving. Foyle is horribly overpaid, but he's a good defender and shotblocker. Fisher is a good back-up pg. Michael Pietrus is another guy I see doing well for them. Plus they've got the 9th pick in the draft. They could definitely get atleast a solid role player to strengthen their bench. I'm very much looking forward to watching this team next season. I know it was just a small sample size, and they obviously had nothing to really play for, but they were runnin everybody off the court the last 20 games or so. I think they finished like 16-4. I could definitely see a "Suns" like turn around for these guys. I agree with everything you said. One thing i would like to see though is for murphy to stop trying to be a antoine walker lite ( except he can play defense unlike whatever walker does out there). A .414 shooting percentage for someone nearly seven feet tall is pretty inexcusable. It's not even that he cannot shoot it's his shot selection which is so poor. It's also not like he is the number one option and he is getting double teamed often.

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 03:57 AM) Teams better than the Lakers=Spurs, Suns, Mavs, Rockets, Nuggets, Kings, Sonics, Grizzlies. The Warriors should be much improved with Baron Davis for a full season. The Jazz figure to be better with a combination of Kirelinko for a full season, and whoever they get in the draft, somebody like Deron Williams. I know this will sound funny. But the Clippers are a sleeper in my opinion. The Livingston kid is gonna be special. If they resign Bobby Simmons, i think they've got a better shot at the 8th seed than the Lakers. I really like the clippers and i see them resigning simmons. Too bad he is a free agent this year rather than next year because we could use a big guard/small foward like him. I also like the warriors but they won't be able too upgrade very much at all considering they have no cap room available.

QUOTE(TaylorStSox @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 02:35 AM) You might want to think about that one again....... Herpes is pretty vile IMO. Those pictures don't work but i know which ones you are talking about. She is only considered ''hot'' because she is an actress. She is very ordinary in my opinion, nothing really stands out about her. Btw they are not herpes... she supposedly has always gotten ''sores'' on her mouth her whole life.

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 02:18 AM) Well first of all it was an interview and not an article. ESPN is insane but not for having this interview. Texsox is not insane, he's an awesome poster, and an awesome guy. I repeat: "I don't feel like adding anything because it will just enfuriate me more than I already am." So red auerbach>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>jackson?

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 06:14 PM) Just a note on Crede -- not that I'm a huge fan of his, but... Crede's OPS - .730. Vinny Castilla's OPS - .739. Where have all the Castilla fans gone? That was as good of time as any to post those numbers.
