  1. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Feb 1, 2005 -> 01:49 AM) How is that f***ing possible considering there were only 10 super bowls held in the 80's? I thought i was reading that wrong.
  2. QUOTE(KittleWalk83 @ Feb 1, 2005 -> 12:48 AM) Look morons, every team but the Steelers, Bears, and Giants, won two or more Super Bowls in the 80's. But the Steelers finished their great run with their 4th Super Bowl. And the Giants won their second Super Bowl within five years of winning their first Super Bowl. The Bears? Still waiting. That's a fluke you morons. Redskins won two. Raiders won two. Niners won two. What happened to the FLUKE Bears? Got destroyed in the 89 NFC Championship game. Haven't been close since then. If that isn't a fluke nothing is. Isn't disgraceful you are White Sox fans. :finger You sure know how to make friends i see.
  3. Thought it was a bad trade when we traded him for koch before koch even threw his first pitch with the white sox.
  4. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Jan 31, 2005 -> 07:58 PM) I strongly disagree. Both Vizcaino & Hermanson have enough starts under their belt to be spot starters in the event El-D goes down. I do not see major downtime coming from Marky B, Freddy G, Jose, or Jon. If you don't want to go that route then you still have arms at AAA & AA who can step in & perform no worse than 04 (Cotts, Diaz, Grili, & Stew). As for the bats, this might be the most balanced lineup the Sox have had in KW's tenure as GM. The easiest out right now figures to be Crede & we all have seen the good Crede & bad Crede. That means higher pitch counts & more stress on most pitchers in the AL when facing the '05 Sox. Those are the intangibles that can & usually do equal more wins. The more pressure you can put on a team the more likely they are to crack. You sure you mean vizcaino? He has never started a game. He is a one inning pitcher and that is about it.
  5. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Jan 31, 2005 -> 05:52 PM) Raja Bell is a wonderful bench player. I've always liked him from what I've seen in the playoffs with Philadelphia and Dallas. Utah is dangerous when everyone is healthy. I don't think that they'd even consider parting with Bell. A similar player is precisely what we need, not that this year actually means anything considering that we have 4 rookies in the 8 man rotation (not including two big guys who would just now be graduating from college). He has an expiring contract and they are most likely going no where this year, I think you may see him traded before the dead-line to someone.
  6. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 31, 2005 -> 05:48 PM) Othella Harrington is a 9th man for the bench. And he does just fine there. We need to bring him back next year and i would like to see the bulls pursue jaric.
  7. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 31, 2005 -> 05:44 PM) Thing is...what can we trade. You see the trade someone came up with on bbb? BULLS TRADE: Chris Duhon, Adrian Griffin. UTAH TRADES: Raja Bell, 2nd round pick. TRADE ACCEPTED We would need him if we faced the celtics in the first round.
  8. We still need to upgrade size wise at the two guard. Raja bell would be perfect.
  9. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Jan 31, 2005 -> 04:32 PM) So now both MLB.com and whitesox.com are wrong? Have you ever seen how fast they update? But it is probally what they say goes, correct?
  10. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Jan 31, 2005 -> 04:26 PM) Well Boston/Rangers/Marlins/Mets/Astros.. all say that Carla is a RF, and sucks so Then I think the same thing..So wI am right then FYI..on WhiteSox.com they have 3 LF.. none are Carla. On a side note they do have him as an OF.. 3 RF behind DYe Bochard Everett Great arguement Gwety... lets discuss, next how Mike Carssuo should be the starting SS. What i am saying makes sense. Just not to you. Several other sites have him as a left fielder.
  11. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Jan 31, 2005 -> 04:22 PM) How about taking a pay cut and being the Hot Dog Vendor.. Thats about as close to a White Sox team I want him to be.. Your "theory" is saying that Harold baines would be a OF in his hayday with this team.. You are very hard headed just so you know.
  12. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jan 31, 2005 -> 04:20 PM) To be honest with you I don't recall his fielding ability very much, there seems to be different sets of opinions about his fielding though, I want to see him play the outfield before I make that judgement. He can bunt, maybe he's not the greatest bunter in the world but he can do it. He can also score from first on a double, him stealing bases obviously helps a great deal because a ton of times when he gets on he'll be in scoring position, knowing how to leadoff in general, making pitchers think about him when he's on base and not the batter, Scott brings a ton to the table, I know you're not a huge fan of him but I think you'll like him much more as the season goes on but that's jmo. If brewers fans do not like his fielding i do not like his fielding. They say he gets really really s***ty reads.
  13. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Jan 31, 2005 -> 04:13 PM) SO now Carla is a LF... Next your going to sell me on How Willie should start at 2b? Your Comparing 2 different players, that like taking Rickey Henderson's Numbers compared to Hank Aaron numbers.. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/fielding?statsId=5073 If he played any position on the sox long term it would be left. No where else.
  14. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jan 31, 2005 -> 04:09 PM) The stolen bases help...yes, also some of the intangibles he brings plus the fact when he's on base he's going to score a lot of runs just because of his speed. Scott brings a lot to the table and not all of what he brings can be seen statistically. What intangibles? He is not a very good fielder and is not that great of bunter.
  15. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Jan 31, 2005 -> 04:06 PM) Rowand I agree with you in regards to Gwety comparing apples and oranges.. That is like comparing who will have a better year Crede or Feilds.. I don't think Frank gets replaced by Carla, Frank comes back healthy Carla is on a one way trip out of a Sox uni , and that my friends is a happy day in soxland. Definitely not like comparing apples and oranges. They are both left fielders correct? Thought so. Everett will be better in every single stat but steals.
  16. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jan 31, 2005 -> 04:03 PM) What do you mean by better year?? It's kind of hard to compare those two but if Scott gets on base at a .340 clip he's going to really help this team. Anyways I believe when Frank comes back Ozzie will keep the hot bat in the lineup he said as much at soxfest, if Carl is swinging the bat well I'm sure he'll find his way in the lineup. Still love the low expectations for a lead-off hitter now a days. .340 obp for a lead-off hitter is garbage. I know, it is all his steals that make up for it right?
  17. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Jan 31, 2005 -> 03:52 PM) If Carla gets that much, we are doomed... on the plus side if he does KW should get fired He will have a better year than podesednik. You will see.
  18. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jan 31, 2005 -> 02:15 PM) Why the heck would you want to hinder the development of our prospects by sitting them on the bench?? Just doesn't make sense. He just wants them to become free agents faster. Only the best gm's do it like that.
  19. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Jan 31, 2005 -> 01:39 PM) 1) Santana rejecting a 25/3 yr deal. Big news for Sox. He's going to cost the Twins a min of 6.8M in 05 & probably 10M in 06. Do they trade him now? There would be plenty of teams lining up to get Santana. The lowest price would be a #1 + prospects. I say he won't be a Twin in 05. He is getting five million is 2005.
  20. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jan 31, 2005 -> 02:37 PM) Francis is obviously better than anyone on the bulls. But Grant Hill is so injury prone as of late that id rather not have him and Christie isnt that good either. Francis is a monster and hill shouldn't get injured now that his surgery actually got done correctly. Bu the bulls have three to five players better than christie without a doubt.
  21. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Jan 31, 2005 -> 10:35 AM) Bruce is awful. Understatement.
