Indy Spiece is the best AAU team in the land until Oden leaves. For the past few years it has been the Atlanta Celtics, but now Indy has become the dominating team. Although they will get a great run for the money this weekend at the TOC.

I mess around with flash stuff alot so I had to try something, if you right click on the screen, and click play, it takes you to the next level automatically.

Have you ever forgot your keys and locked yourself
Palehosefan replied to Benchwarmerjim's topic in SLaM
My 2nd day of owning a house, I left all my keys inside and I didn't learn the garage door code yet, so I had to spend 30 dollars to get a locksmith to come un-do it. Now I keep a spare in my wallet thankfully and I know the code, yipee :-). -
Thats impressive no matter if Oden is there or not. I'm sure I would know the team when I heard it. I can't find any possiblities right now though.

Bogut would be a nice 1st pick also, I'm just hoping Marvin doesn't end up in Portland, :puke That and I would love to see Milwaukee on the break with Ford running the show and Mason and Marvin on the wings, that would be NICE. They can match NJ in the run and gun don't talk about big men style :-).
-
You can't go wrong with Marvin at #1. He's as young or younger than most of the high schoolers in the class and will make the biggest impact of any of the high schoolers. Marv also has as good of a work ethic as any in the draft. I don't see Milwaukee passing on Marv, but then again I'm a little biased with him

Speaking of the draft, are we going to have a draft board also? Or is it going to be a thread on here, anyone thought about it yet?

Ricky Williams 'absolutely' set for Fins Camp
Palehosefan replied to greasywheels121's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I truly hope he is at 185 pounds and he gets snapped in half when he comes back. Not that I dislike the guy or anything My favorite part is how he gets his money, turns away from football saying he never really loved the game thinking he would get his money and could smoke as much as he wants to. Then he learns he will have to pay back 8 million in contract money and all of the sudden he has found a reason to play again. His teammates depending on him the past few years wasn't enough, now that his money is in threat, well its back to football. :finger -
BaseballAmerica. I let my subscription run out for BA for the first time in 6 years. So now I get to rely on you guys more than ever

If you tell me your friend is on Indy Spiece then I'll REALLY be impressed.

Ryan and Felix look like they are taking the same early route to the majors. Both are very close in age also, Ryan is 12 days younger than Felix. Should be fun for us and the Cubbies to watch them play for many years to come. Thanks again for the updates BHAM, they are great to read.

I feel your pain, thats why I'm in favor of a baseball floor at least. There doesn't have to be a baseball cap, but it would be nice, just a baseball floor at the minimum. Maybe something like 40 million.

Was it Mike Caruso that we brought up from high A? I thought I remembered someone somewhat recently coming up from high A.

Wow, I'm sorry but thats just plain idiotic. Instead of making the tag and saving a run he actually threw the ball away? Thats horrible. I sure hope there wasn't any betting going on during the game... :headshake

Brandon McCarthy To Make Major League Debut
Palehosefan replied to Chisoxfn's topic in Pale Hose Talk
BMac has been smacked around his past 2 starts. It will be interesting to see if he can turn it around at the MLB level. By the way, great job guys, nobody else was even talking about this while you guys had it up for a while. -
They had to cut all of mine out, and the bleeding lasted for about 2 hours, then the pain quit about 20 hours after the surgery, it was gone by late the next day. Nothing like walking around with kleenaxes stuffed in your mouth in every corner :-P

Great interview guys. I'm glad none of my questions threw him for a loop and he knew what I was talking about. I wanted to add questions he probably wouldn't be asked every day like about the right handed pitching etc.

I'm a Muppets fan also. Seeing Beaker squeeking and shaking in terror then getting tossed around the room gets me every time. I also love the chef "Here squirrely squirrely squirrely".

Thats cool, I didn't remember his stats.

Yep thanks, I was thinking he was from Puerto Rico, I just didn't realise we drafted him from a high school there. He was indeed 17 in his first stint with us. Here is a short blurb from BA about our guys from May 6th that I missed. " CHICAGO--A legend on the practice fields, where his towering home runs long have attracted attention, outfielder Thomas Collaro is making a name for himself when it counts. Collaro, a 27th-round draft pick in 2001 from Palm Beach (Fla.) Community College, hammered Carolina League pitchers in April. He hit his way onto the high Class A Winston-Salem roster during spring training, skipping the low Class A South Atlantic League, which had appeared his likely destination after spending the last three seasons in Rookie ball. "I'm just feeling comfortable at the plate," Collaro, 22, told the Winston-Salem Journal. "I started spring training feeling good, and I've just been carrying it over from spring training." Farm director Dave Wilder raved about Collaro after instructional league last fall. He worked to shorten the long swing that led to 173 strikeouts in 541 professional at-bats, without sacrificing power in the process. Collaro led the Carolina League with seven homers and 19 RBIs. He owned a .342 average with 23 strikeouts and one walk in 72 at-bats. "Thomas has been swinging the bat real well all year," Warthogs manager Chris Cron said. Collaro's improvement is most evident in his average. He entered the year with a .253 average as a pro but had raised that in each of the previous two seasons. He hit .287-18-66 last season in the Rookie-level Pioneer League. "It's a big swing, and that's why you see strikeouts," Cron said. "That's something we've got to calm down. Believe it or not, it was bigger before. He's shortened it up a little bit and we'll keep working with it. He's off to a good start and instant gratification is good for anybody." CHI-LITES • Collaro wasn't the only fast starter at Winston-Salem. Shortstop Robert Valido, 20, was hitting .329 with two homers in 82 at-bats. Switch-hitting infielder Chris Amador, 22, was hitting .345-7-18 in 58 at-bats in his third year in the Carolina League. • Low Class A Kannapolis lefthanders Ryan Rodriguez, Daniel Haigwood, Gio Gonzalez and Ray Liotta were a combined 9-2. None is older than 22. Gonzalez went 2-1, 1.23 in his first four starts. A supplemental-round pick last year out of high school in Florida, Gonzalez had 38 strikeouts in 22 innings along with a .151 opponent average. "

Good stuff, another interesting thing, atleast to me, about the drafts is that we drafted Gerron McGary two years in a row and I don't think we signed him either year.
-
Hasn't he been in our system since he was 17 years old or so? He never had any power up until this year and honestly never put up good numbers. I had always heard he was a very good fielder, but couldn't produce enough at the plate to keep afloat. Nice to see him finally develop some power this year, somewhat reminds me of Morse's power surge after 4-5 years with us.

What, no love for the Biscuits logo Dan?

Even losing Scheyer, the Illini can still build a great foundation if they can get commitments from Sherron Collins and Brian Carlwell to go along with Semrau. Anything else would be icing on the cake for you guys. There will be a few breakout players over the summer that will have alot of interest in the Illini due to the past year. Don't worry yet.
-
Thats an odd line that he idolized the Laettner led teams. Considering Scheyer would have been 4 years old at most for Laettner's senior year.
