SI, AL Rotation Rankings
Buehrle, Garcia, Contreras... probably the best 1 to 3 in the AL. IF "El Duque" can give us 150+ innings than he’ll give us 10+ wins... something you wouldn’t see from your regular 5th starters. He looked excellent last season with the Yankees after coming off of that injury. Had an 8-0 run with an ERA in the 3’s. This guy has the capability of being a #2 starter. I’m just praying this guy can be healthy through out the whole year. John Garland has yet to give us 13+ wins (or is it 14?) in a season. This guy will have at least one good year in his career and I’m hoping it’s this year. I don’t care if he has a fluke year, just give us something that will help this team out.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 03:33 PM) That's nothing -- Did we post the story about the guy who cut his own off in a bar bet after his team (rugby or football) won something? That was very recently Yeah, but, this one is worse, IMO.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 8, 2005 -> 02:27 PM) I have been giving a lot of thought to that samething lately. I have basically been looking for a new job for 3 years now, but there is just nothing in the field. What’s wrong with your job? All you have to do is make 38.3 posts per day.

QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Feb 6, 2005 -> 10:07 PM) Exactly. Now the Batman one I must have missed is super cool. http://pdl.warnerbros.com/wbmovies/batmanb...er_tvspot_a.mov Really? I really wasn’t very thrilled when I saw the Batman preview. I mean, did I see Morgan Freeman in it!?- Best Superbowl Commercials
QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Feb 6, 2005 -> 10:01 PM) Anyone think the War of the Worlds spot they had was kind of confusing. http://www.apple.com/trailers/paramount/wa...s/large_sb.html I’m not quite sure what the movie is about. All I saw were some bridges flying away...- Films
I’m a Kung Fu fan so yesterday I bought Duel to the Death on DVD and was amazed at how entertaining the movie was. For under $10 (plus it has Dolby Surround 5.1) it is a very special treat. This is one of those low profiled Kung Fu films that don’t make such a splash like Crouching Tiger or Hero. Real good movie if you’re into the Martial Arts genre.- Best Superbowl Commercials
QUOTE(winodj @ Feb 6, 2005 -> 09:19 PM) Godaddy.com was the only commercial that was any good. Agreed. I usually pay attention to Super Bowl commercials just to see film previews. This year I didn’t see anything that I liked. Only one that got my attention was the new Batman movie. Even that, it looked kind of flat.- Fright Film Finishes First
QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 6, 2005 -> 07:58 PM) I finally saw sideways this weekend, and it was very good. I rewatched American Splendor last night because Sideways put me in the mood for it, and it remains absolutely brilliant. Giamati is a really talented actor. I finally saw Million Dollar Baby this afternoon and it was really worth the $5.50 that I paid. Clint Eastwood, Hillary Swank, and Morgan Freeman shine in this film. I can see this movie being in my top ten of the year.- Congrats Pats
QUOTE(silver and black @ Feb 6, 2005 -> 09:17 PM) dynasty...maybe let this thread be a positive congrats thread. Why make a Congrats Pats thread when there’s already 2 Super Bowl threads in this very same Sports bar forum?- Official Superbowl XXXIX Thread
Made a bet with a friend of mine at school... $30 against the Eagles.- Fright Film Finishes First
1.) Boogeyman $19,500,000 2.) The Wedding Date $10,994,000 3.) Are We There Yet? $10,400,000 4.) Hide and Seek $8,900,000 5.) Million Dollar Baby $8,770,000 Moviegoers showed once again how their thirst for scary films is virtually unquenchable powering the new fright flick Boogeyman to the number one spot over Super Bowl weekend. Meanwhile, football widows lined up for the romantic comedy The Wedding Date which finished in second place with strong results of its own. Most major holdovers performed well including the three Oscar nominees for Best Picture which continued to cruise in the top ten with declines of less than 30% each.- Happy Birthday AddisonStSox

QUOTE(The Critic @ Jan 31, 2005 -> 11:31 AM) ...somebody wants to get hiiiiiiiigh....... That’s the first thing I thought about when I read the thread title.- Bulls vs Celtics
QUOTE(qwerty @ Jan 29, 2005 -> 10:21 PM) Bulls don't match up well with the celtics at all. That is all i know. Bulls have zero guards that can post up and bulls has three. The horrid game calling surely didn't help us any. I am not gonna cry about this loss. I’m not crying about this loss either, its just that I thought we had this game down as a win when we had that 13 point lead, but of course, those damn refs. :headshake- Bulls vs Celtics
This game is bulls***. Whatever happened to that super defense we had? We had like 25+ games without having to allow the opposing team to score more than 100. Now we’ve allowed quite a lot of points lately. - New Sig Please
