Nice little baserunning play by Crede. And hits from Valentin AND Crede? WTF?
-
Can we call them the Soxxies? :banghead
-
Worked for Mike Squires!!!
-
Damn good hitter, but he'll never hit .400 cuz he doesn't walk enough. Too many at bats. Bonds has a better chance. ARow for Sox MVP!!!

after the two ninth-inning three-run hr's last night. his ERA has ballooned to 5.45. Here's to Kenny!!! I bet Esty's got some sort of injury they haven't found yet. Don't expect him back in the majors for at least a year. -
Wouldn't you rather see what some of the kids can do at this point? The Sox need to move on and they should see what Valdez/Diaz/Munoz/maybe Anderson or Sweeney and the others can do to help the team for next year and beyond. Fighting for the playoffs at this point would hurt next years team.... But if it happened.....

Shhh, little Black Sox. Have one of these... and watch BBTN for all the highlights....
-
Two good defensive plays in the inning...well the Cormier catch was luck...but the Sox still scored 4. Where has this timely hitting been?
-
I believe Everett's option is a player's option. So, we'd have to trade him because he'll probably pick it up. Not sure for how much, but I think it's around $5 mil.
-
Maybe he didn't reach his ultimate potential, but catcher is a tough gig. Plus, look at some of the other catchers that stay around even though an aspect of their game isn't so good...Joe Girardi, Brad Ausmus, Mike Matheny, Brook Fordyce, Mike Piazza. All of these catchers are good at one thing or another...offense, defense or in Girardi's and Sandy's case...extra bench coach.

These are premium seats...they should pull the netting down. I mean, the suits that are going to buy these tickets for their clients should get the full feeling. Perhaps everyone gets complimentary facemasks and chest protectors...and a mitt. All balls that are fouled and caught are considered in play and the batter will be out. Any edge we can get...

Ah Yes, Back in the Heat of a Pennant Race

No, Joe Borchard is freakin' "Out Man". Awesome! -
Maybe they should have a Jerry Dybzinski Bobblehead Day...then they can bring back the Dybber for some ol' time memories and a sah-sich. man, I miss those. Stupid Texas.

Kong is going to be Kong. There's a reason why certain people are put at first...Sean Casey, Jason Giambi, John Olerud, Cecil Fielder...some are better fielders than others, but none of them would beat my Aunt Fanny in a race to first...
-
Contreras should be better with the Sox...not as much pressure. Cashman is going to regret getting Loaiza...He's supposed to pretty much take the place of Mussina and/or brown until they get healthy...yeah, good luck with that.
-
Now what...not only is he no longer with the team, but he shaved off his goatee. I guess it's a collector's item now. http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb.../promotions.jsp

We've also played two fewer games than Minny (I think it's two), so, if we can win those two while the Twinkies are off, that's one game right there. And like DJ said a couple of weeks ago, this team just needs to focus on winning series. Not trying to go on a 10 game winning streak (although that would be nice, too).

If it's not Floyd, who else could they be trading for? That is, if the Sox are really rumored to be involved in this three way trade?

Randy Johnson rumor in Daily Southtown

If RJ won't go to the Angels...or the Dodgers...why would he come to the Sox? Not that i wouldn't LOVE him to be in Chi...but c'mon, he isn't going to waive his no trade clause to come to the Sox. If he does...I'll probably :puke . -
True...but Willie walks more than Arow. He is inconsistent, but until this year, so was Rowand. I don't think we really have a true leadoff hitter...which is why, i've been brought over to the dark side and I think Catalanato would be good for this team...hopefully, they will be able to fit his name on the back of the uni...
-
Shouldn't a top of the order hitter be a little more selective, though? Isn't that a leadoff or 2nd place hitters job...to look at some pitches so the rest of the team can see what kinda stuff the pitcher has that night? I love Arow...but he isn't a leadoff hitter...I'll give you the two spot, though.

I don't think this is the last time we see Maggs in a Sox uniform...his price of 5 yrs/$70 mil just went down. He's not going to get that now. Maybe 5 yrs/$50 mil and loaded with playing time incentives...possibly?
