Sorry Yas, I respect you and your opinions, but I don't buy the financial trouble thing. She had one year to go and probably could have delayed any trial until she's out of office. She was still going to write a book, go on speaking tours, whatever else a politician can do to make money legally...which probably could have held out until next year. If this is about her youngest child and the time she needs, which I'm sure having a Down's child is very difficult, I could completely understand. But she is quitting because she can't take the heat. And if she thinks the kitchen in Juneau is hot...well, nothing about Alaska is hot.

They will drag warm bodies through just to think they are working for you. Hell, I know of one that would buy lunch if his friends would pose as potential buyers and walk through his listings. The most common way for your home to sell will be some Realtor you do not know will pull up all the X bedroom homes, in Y neighborhood, for less than $60k, and will lead some buyer to your door. Your listing agent will not have done much at all. It's a terrible racket. We sold our home in Austin right after the bubble burst (although Austin was hanging on by a thread, home prices/sales had dropped a lot). Our realtor mapped out all of the things he was doing: listed on multiple websites, listed in the main newspaper in town, listed in the neighborhood papers, he even called his investor friends (at least that's what he told us), he passed our house along to other agents in his agency. For showings, he rarely called us, the buyer's agent called to set up the showing (there was a lockbox). I think the best thing to do is contact the local Realtor board, like Tex said. They should give you some good advice...but I don't think it's a legally binding document. One thing you should do, though, to cover your ass, is to start keeping track of correspondence. Instead of calling, email or write her and keep a copy. If she/he doesn't return the correspondence, that's fine, as long as you have a record. Good luck!

We are all skipping over an important part of this. Fine, if you want to spend more family time...but serve out your term and don't run for re-election. Then, everyone wins. She gets to spend more time doing what she wants to do and she doesn't look like a quitter, which, if she runs for president, would be the first thing I would go after her for (or anyone for that matter). If you think the scrutiny is bad as Governor of Alaska/Vice Presidential candidate, just imagine it as President. It's no wonder former President's look like they've aged 50 years in 4 or 8. Sorry, Ms. Palin, but dem or rep, I don't want someone who runs and hides in the highest office of the United States.

Actually, I wait until all my body hair grows to the same Crystal Gayle-length, then use shears. It's much easier that way and I only have to do it once every 35 years.

If you guys are saying that the media is liberal, which it looks like you are, then you need to stop referring to them as the mainstream. It's getting really old. Just say liberal media and get it over with, for the love of all that's holy.
