  1. QUOTE (SoxSteve @ Dec 10, 2016 -> 03:57 PM) Just trade Quintana to the Cubs for Ian Happ and Elroy Jiminez and maybe the Catcher Cantini or outfielder Donnie Dewees. Hi Theo!
  2. Why do I know who Jackson Reetz is again?
  3. QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 9, 2016 -> 09:38 AM) Or not So from the splashiness of Les Miles and Lane Kiffin to now the OC that their fanbase didn't like. Well, hope it works out for them.
  4. Dinwiddie signed away from the Bulls to go up with Brooklyn. Damn.
  5. Attendance can, and will get a lot lot worse for all the how bad can it get people in this thread. Same goes for tv. That is unless they make tickets significantly cheaper.
  6. QUOTE (Dunt @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 12:12 PM) I'm actually considering buying a partial season or full season ticket to show my support for the franchise. Next year will be ugly, but it'll be worth the pain. Our season ticket group dating back 40+ years is now gone. You can take our spot.
  7. The patience won't last until April 1st, or until next week really. I think people confuse the small amount of people paying attention during the winter meetings to the general fanbase. It'll get ugly, and sooner than later.
  8. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 10:06 AM) That is another problem the Sox have. The Cubs got good right when their top guys hit the big leagues, except for the half a billion they spend on pitching. They have a lot of control. If this takes 4 or 5 years, if these guys are as good as advertised, they will have not so much control and will be hitting arb. It would be more like KC, where then you would have a 2 or 3 year window before you have to be prepare for a gigantic payroll or start over. It will be interesting to see the team's ownership situation in 4 or 5 years. If you think about it, maybe JR will sell after next season. The payroll will be next to nothing with no long term commitments. Then you have the 2018 free agent class, and many new owners like to spend cash to get the ball rolling. Sign a star or two, get some good development, maybe they can be interesting in 2 years, but a lot more will have to go right than had to go right when they were piece mealing a run at a playoff berth. Selling after a 60 win season should scare every Sox fan a lot. Let's hope not.
  9. Doesn't seem like a guy who can stick or a bullpen candidate. Odd pick
  10. What twitter to follow pick by pick?
  11. I like the rebuild but can I just say there will be no jubilation come April when they can't even sell out Opening Day? When we get into the thick of its it's going to get scary ugly. Those who pay close attention in the winter make a fanbase not.
  12. QUOTE (Deadpool @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 04:27 PM) Top Ten farm system. Almost has to be. I would think it's has to be higher than the #15 number thrown out.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 04:24 PM) If this fails to the point where you are trading Rodon, you might as well contract this franchise. I already hate this. There is literally no reason to watch this team for years. Seriously though everyone should pray for Jerry's great health the next few years.
  14. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Nov 7, 2016 -> 04:05 PM) My bad, could have sworn he was, but looking back at finalists from several years, no indeed. IIRC from the last time he was nominated, you can only be nominated every so many years.
  15. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 08:04 AM) I dont see how its a steal. One year of an injury plagued closer isnt worth all that much IMO. Soler has played 211 games Avi has played 409. So its like trading garcia 2 years ago, or when we thought he had tremendous value. Chapman reportedly has an offer of 92 million dollars and Melancon just got 62 million. Wade Davis is every bit as good but yeah he needs a clean bill of health. This of course hurts us for Robertson
  16. That's a huge steal for the Cubs if his physical checks out. Epstein does it again.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 10:13 PM) Seems like a 1-1 deal Big time steal for Epstein then if health checks out.
  18. If his physical checks out, it better be Soler++
  19. According to multiple reports, Ramos' deal is for $12.5 million and includes playing time incentives to make up to $18.25 million over the two years. Sounds like a steal. See how the health checks out.
  20. Buehrle>Wood replied to Real's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Real @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 07:52 PM) Saw that the Yankees have the highest ranked catching prospect in Gary Sanchez http://www.baseballamerica.com/statistics/...ers/cards/93026 is he available? who else is out there? Not trying to be mean but did you pay attention to MLB in the second half of the year? I don't blame you if you didnt. But he was one of the biggest stories in baseball. Highly doubt he's touchable after that.
  21. If Red Sox are actually paying him 30+ million for us, that likely cost us another boatload of prospects. That sucks.
  22. QUOTE (2005thxfrthmmrs @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 01:41 PM) This one actually hurts more for Boston, the total cost for Sale might be much higher than the $40 M surface value. Boston Sports Info ‏@bostonsportsinf 1h1 hour ago Remember..remember to add the $63 million it cost Sox to sign Yoan to the assets to get Chris Sale That's doesn't exactly help us. Hell, it probably hurt us.
  23. QUOTE (2005thxfrthmmrs @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 01:40 PM) Boston Sports Info ‏@bostonsportsinf 1h1 hour ago Chris Sale AL ranks since 2012 (min 100 GS) ERA - 1st WHIP - 1st CG - 1st SO - 1st OPS against - 1st alrighty then Ouch
  24. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 01:26 PM) Alright, so, who was the last Sox hitting prospect to succeed with the team? Aaron Rowand 15 years ago.
